Grip is that it must enable the batsman to swing the bat in straight line to hit the ball, allow both hands to swing the bat parallel to the shoulder line. One way to checking this is to try swinging the bat like pendulum along a straight line, first with top hand, then the bottom hand. And then both together. As mentioned in Bob woolmer vedio.
