Never got to ride these. I think it was a good idea despite the engineering failures and they should rebuild the track with the proper banked turns and evac egress in place and try it again.
seriously screw the haters this was an amazing ride back in the day, i got to ride it twice. honestly this is on my list for top 5 attractions i would love to have back.
I rode this. The pre show took forever…I remember how it strangely went in where Astro Blasters are today, into the old circlevision theatre and then under ground and up to the people mover station. I thought it was interesting how they did the cue, but whoever thought they should assault our senses with that horrible futuristic motor sound continuously through the entire experience should have been smacked hard.
I think you're the only goanimator that went to this defunct attraction before youtube and goaniamte itself existed. I'm also another one who has Disneyland and DCA in my childhood, aside from who I used to be friends with that you used to like. And yes I am aware of capacity and wait times of attractions especially on ghostrider. Such a surprise!
Miss this ride so much! I got to ride them once in Summer 2000 around a month or two before they closed for good. I loved watching them zoom all over Tomorrowland. Too bad they had so many problems. Tomorrowland has mostly sucked since they closed down.
I wish they could fill in and seal up the old tracks and build like steel rollercoast tracks on top of the old ones and bring this BACK. It would be much smoother and actually work and not being insanely loud or have to slow down for the turns.
Yes, Superstar Limo was a turd no doubt. Equally as bad as Rocket Rods. DCA was done on the cheap as was Tomorrowland 1998. At least DCA improved over time.
12:30 sounds like the fab four beatles tribute band was playing at tomorrowland terrace that night. another thing i loved from those days that disney has taken away...live music on the weekends. as for the rocket rods,i rode them a half a dozen times, but most of the time i went to ride it was broken down. not worth the sacrifice of the beloved peoplemover imo.
I wish I could’ve visited Tomorrowland in this era, I kinda think the bronze color scheme looks cool. At least here the rocket rods, innoventions, and starcade were still open and not abandoned.
tbh I kind of want this back. I've been on both DL and MK People Movers; they're a bit boring. If they brought this back but actually banked the turns (I know, the structure can't handle it and would need to be rebuilt) it could actually give some much needed energy back to Tomorrowland. Slow moving buckets isn't going to do that.
This isn’t an inherently bad concept If they kept the people mover but had rocket rods running alongside it, that would be nice, I don’t know why they chose rocket rods to replace the people mover, the autopia is car related and is just sitting there
Putting them together would be even harder to achieve. They would have had to build two separate tracks which would cost way more than it took for this ride.
This has got to be one of the worst attractions Disney created. Didn't even work properly because Tomorrowland 1998 was done on the cheap. In fact Tomorrowland was ruined. One of the worst eras in Disneyland history. Thanks for the video though for documentation.
@@hellacia8151 First, WEB-Slingers is in DCA, not Disneyland and second, you're talking your opinion on a ride experience. Rocket Rods was a technical and mechanical failure and didn't last two years and was down most of its existence. It was poorly executed due to budgetary cutbacks.

Yay! This time we actually get the video!😂
That rapidly fast beeping as the car zooms through the Innoventions building always made think that the ride was gonna explode.
They should have just put an updated people mover there. It would still be running today.
Thank you for this, I love it! So grateful that people filmed these experiences
What a treat two rocket rod videos in a week!! 🎉😂❤❤❤❤ love this!!!! 🔥💕😍 memories
The underground tunnel line was a unique experience. I only ever rode it once, and it was dark.
I was lucky to ride this amazing ride! Still having dreams about it

Danger I totally agree , loved this ride back in the day !
But the question is from your experience, was it better than the Peoplemover?
@@burneyboys02 anything is better than the people mover.

I swear that's me saying "One, two, and three, please." but you didn't film the CM, so I can't be sure. Loved working that ride.
I only rode this once, so thank you very much for sharing!!!❤
Disney bring back peoplemover
I remember riding on the Rocket Rods, and it was terrible, after waiting 3 ridiculous hours.

Did you ever do peoplemover? And would Caillou ever ride a rocket rod down the street and get grounded in your channel?
“Let’s make the Peoplemover cool, fast, and rad, nobody likes slow rides anymore 😎🤟”
Oh Lord have mercy Eisner, what were you thinking?🤦🏾♂️

Awesome video quality from 25 years ago ❤. Lame Ride ❤.
R.I.P 1998-2000
So much of Tomorrowland is left underutilized.
People who say this is the worst ride ever made by Disney, I have two words for you: SUPERSTAR LIMO
Yes, Superstar Limo was a turd no doubt. Equally as bad as Rocket Rods. DCA was done on the cheap as was Tomorrowland 1998. At least DCA improved over time.
I've got four words for you: Journey Into YOUR Imagination.
Wish it was still open.
I’m proud to say I never rode the rocket 🚀 rods.
But I did ride the people mover🎉

I think it was a decent effort by Disney to reshape tomorrowland, but it didn't really work out in the long run. It was fun while it lasted though.
That old rides
What did you use to upscale this?
How did you get rid of the flickering in the queue line? It's basically unwatchable in the original and all the other videos of the ride on TH-cam
Lmg magic lol
Lots of editing and messing with plugins, took me about 14 hours to do and around 7 hours for my Mac to render it
@@LMGVids What kind of Mac is it?
It's a maxed out M2 Ultra Mac Studio

Plymouth XNR Ghia Roadster concept
Tomorrow land used to be one of the best lands, but nowadays especially after closing skyway and people mover, its barely worth even going to.
They destroyed the People Mover for this.😂
Never been to this ride, but I found this a worse replacement for the classic attraction at Disneyland, and it’s even the shorter lived attraction
This isn’t an inherently bad concept

ah yes, the ride that destroyed the peoplemover track 😔
the track is fine for the ride. reason for closure was the wheels needing to be replaced frequently.

Worst disneyland ride now is webslingers
@@hellacia8151
Rocket rods pre show was pretty good to watch. It’s important because the ride was down half its life.

Why was it taken off??? Tomorrow land needs more rides it needs alot of update
Because the ride was super unreliable and had frequent downtimes. In addition, the Rocket Rods also damaged the old Peoplemover track.
