Actually I was against that move. I do admire Messi and I am a Barcelona fan, it really was touchy moment to see that professional players from other leagues treat him like that. But like I have said they are professional and the goalkeeper was expected to behave like that. I mean it is not just a friendly match that you lost, it is a damn league match where every point counts. Maybe if he just exchanged the shirts it would be OK, but doing those things he kind of damaged the brand of his own club and his reputation.

What they don’t have is good defense and strong control in the midfield. So far they don’t have it. Messi needs to be in a team that dominates ball possession to really shine.

He did more running in 15 minutes at PSG than he did at Barcelona for the last five years....
I thought the same. Shows you he could've done more at Barca. At the beginning he ran like crazy, defended, forechecking, recovered balls.
But somehow this all stopped when he got say 25. I thought it was bc of all the being kicked around, especially in the classicos by the likes of Pepe Ramos even Xabi. But as we have seen, even at 34 he still can bring it.
This will always leave a bad taste in my mouth about his second half at Barca - he could have been even better

@@footballfan5961 was it to me? I don't know which specific game you mean but I watch barca since being a kid, that is since the 90s, the Romario Stoichkov Guardiola team. Fell in love with Pep's side - hands down best football I've ver seen, like play station, symphony, outplayed/destroyed opponents. What was so special and new, aside from all-world talent at most positions, was their forechecking, starting right at the box. Like at onside kicks they didn't even back up one meter and chased the D around. what you need for that is running, willingness to run, do the "not so fun stuff" and recover the ball.
Then sth happened. I remember the '15 CL final - the front 3 were standing around and waiting for the rest of the team to defend and then give them the ball. the likes of Iniesta degraded to ball-deliverers. Shocked!
Believe or not, I was sure back then they won't win another CL. they can buy whoever they want (couldn't get much better than Neymar Suarez Messi anyway) and they won't win another CL. was right in that regard at least

Messi does not do constant running. He does bursts of running then after that walking. Most players, especially attackers do that. Messi just walks more in general because when he get the ball he often dribble pass several players. Here he played only 15 mins so he can afford to run more. I'm sure in a 90 min game, he will manage his energy and you will see walking again.

The main reason Mbappe wants to quit PSG is because he likes the limelight so much that he'd like to be the main star of the team but with Messi in the same team he is struggling to accept the fact that he is now under Messi's shadow , whether he likes it or not.
