Follow up idea from other pov : deceit kept looking for him while sailing with the idea of not quite believing the story. From that point he accidentally meets one of the other sides... And so forth adventureing together on the seas and then ending with a stange double date when they final meet again. Aka the excuse to get the one "scalely boy" (who in this case is a "fleshy boi") surrounded by people with scales.
