questo celebre incipit musicale di G.Majerbeer usato mirabilmente da F.Liszt per la sua monumentale fantasia e fuga su Ad Nos Ad Salutarem Undam, salutano nuovamente la memoria del M.Jean Guillou in ricordo del suo 92° compleanno. Un opera che il Maestro ha eseguito centinaia di volte in tutto il mondo e che fu uno dei brani di diploma presso il conservatorio di Parigi nel 1954. Questo video registrato il 9 marzo 2014 per il vespro d’organo nella chiesa di Villasanta, è uno dei tanti momenti indelebili che attestano ancora una volta la grandezza del nostro amato e indimenticabile Maestro. Buon Compleanno!

Cette œuvre de Liszt interprétée magistralement sans partition est une prouesse accomplie par Jean Guillou, ancien organiste titulaire des grandes orgues de Saint-Eustache à Paris.

The man was brilliant, but this interpretation is just weird and eccentric.
Turgid - technique but ignores Liszt's power of speaking to an audience.
It was his style of playing registration he did that also with many other pieces from diffrent composers and time periods and No he didn't interpreted it because that would mean he would have played exactly like Liszt.
With all due respect to the artist’s gray hair, this is not F. Liszt.
He should have listened to the Russian Jew Leonid Roizman more - it would have been more like the truth(!)
