Good evening, Actually it operates based on the principle of variable capacitance. Voltage and Capacitance are inversely proportional. Therefore applied high voltage is inversely proportional to capacitance and the reading will obtain in moving Coil ammeter as shown in the diagram. In connection with this, applied high voltage is measured in terms of DC current which is measured by moving Coil Microammeter which is specified in the figure. I have solved one problem also. Dear Jithin, Some measurement devices will consume power from the source (supply) which is undesirable. Generating voltmeter will not consume any power from the supply unlike other meters.
