Good stuff Dan, thanks. Regarding the last putt, it's useful to remember that the movement shown by the white ball is the AVERAGE gradient for that square. Sometimes looking at the squares next to it, both horizontally and vertically, give a hint that all is not as it seems. For example, putting along the right half of the square may see the ball turn one way whilst putting along the left half might see it turn the other way or go straight.
It might just be that some clumsy oaf has stood right by the hole and put a dent in the green ;)

I enjoyed the walk through, I've noticed some of the tips from prior videos...especially the uphill roll over hole...while watching you I also noticed you like to use the s p a lot ...sooo I made the transition to start using the S.P. PUTTING Accuracy improved greatly. As a newbie walking in less than a year ago, putting was my first issue that I had to start researching, and if I remember correctly, I was led to believe that it was better to use the MP over the SP due to the fact it was more accurate and not under hit. Then realizing there was more to it than the horizontal lines, it was finding the proper speed for the vertical lines... And you covered that nicely today, || and its value for distance. Thanks So Much... Now, what's your tip for two breaks, in opposite direction ? SevenHil

Another point if I may, on rollovers. The physics of the game are great generally, but the actual hole is a problem. How to code it when on a steep hill? The obvious is not to put the hole on such an extreme gradient, which probably would breach the rules of real golf.
The ideal would be to map each pixel of the edge of the hole to its actual elevation, but this is pretty difficult. So, Com2Us have seemingly made the hole flat across its entire area. This is what causes rollover, and also allows really fast downhill putts to drop.
Imagine a putt like 8 at Rolling Hills. As the ball gets to the hole it's still heading uphill, but now the terrain i.e. the hole, suddenly goes flat. It's like going up a ramp with a flat top, so the ball goes into the air for a bit, long enough to jump the hole.
On the flipside, downhill putts are a swine in real life because the hole surface goes downhill too, giving gravity less time to pull the ball into the hole and making a fast putt jump out. In Golf Star, the downhill putt hits the flat surface of the hole, keeps going down and in, at what can be stupid speeds. So long as it's pretty straight, it makes these putts dead easy as a putt can be holed across a massive range on the power bar. That's why your last putt there on the 3rd at Safari went in. Cracking job on getting the line right though!
