    Delroy wago 224-101, and 224-201 are designed for lights and very economical on space try them out. Some of the 224 are also designed for high heat use as well.

    It’s really good that you highlighted the problem with the MCB connections. I believe the manufacturers have addressed this problem now, but of course there are thousands installed. It would not surprise me if it was this,along with doubling up of the tails in the isolators on the plastic split consumer units that has been causing the increase in fires in the plastic consumer units.

      Same here - until we moved to an all electric house and a village with no gas. I took five of those things out, by the time I'd taken the third one out upstairs I was carrying the bricks one at a time downstairs 🤣 We had some new Quantum heaters put in. what a world of difference from the old school storage heaters., and some solar panels to lighten the bills a bit.

    crazy to think most of this wiring would not pass inspection in the states...especially all the exposed wires and "juego" connectors for the splices. I have seen those fail time and time again....looks like you take pride in your work!

    These vids are Interesting. 21:34 The plastic in the window reveal is probably an insulated cavity closer that fits between each leaf. They form part of building regulations Part L and shouldn't usually be cut as you can get cold bridging that could lead to a dew point in the cavity and then damp.

    Delroy talking about light swiches have you ever worked on a long corridor like in a hospital where they have the lighting staged with what we call "Travelling" circuits, Example: Turn switch 1 on and first lot of Flourescent tubes come on, get to switch 2 and second lot of lights go on , first lot switch off and so and so forth down the corridor and it works in reverse order. If you have come across this and know how it's wired could you let me know. I'll send and e-mail to you just in case.

    when de-energising or energising a board, you should de-energise all mcb's first, RCD's second, then the main switch, then reverse to energise
    Whenever I'm removing a busbar I always unscrew the MCB's to the maximum, you will never miss the busbar then

    • @sdgelectronics
      @sdgelectronics 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There's no need to do any of that. if you look at the symbols on the main isolator you can see the load-break switch symbol meaning it's designed to withstand switching under load.
