These two versions are truly my favorite. The Japanese version sticks to the original & truly brings out naoki’s self. The Taiwanese version is pure nostalgia & does the original story while adding its own layers so beautifully.
I just realized at the JPN one, my fave version imho, that I love how he was cold as he entered and walked towards her. He yells her name. Now, that may look like he’s “cold” but if you think about it by how loud Kotoko was, he’d heard her as he entered and how they laughed at her for being “delusional”. So when he says her name, considering calling a stranger (let alone someone you’re not on familiar/close/familial relationship with) by their first name is technically unusual and impolite in Japanese, by saying her first name instead of her last name (maiden name, not talking about naoki’s last name irie), he establishes that kotoko is someone close enough to be called by her first name. It also establishes intimacy. Second, the way he’s so front about their interaction all the while his words defeat the purpose of his cold demeanor or introverted demeanor, it just goes to show how yes, he is in fact, in a relationship with her snd she was telling the truth when she said she was his wife 🤣 P.s. he indirectly mentions his mom, her mother in law by saying “mom asked…” so it indirectly lets others know they live in the same house 😭
Personally, Japanese version is top-notch . Because I feel like the main lead brought the character to life. Just look at that guy, he looks like genius, arrogant guy. I didn’t feel that when I saw the first version.
I still go back to the Japanese version just because of how comedic Kotoko is😂 She makes me cringe so hard my toes curl but I can't help but love the absolute silliness of the Japanese version. When I want more romance and a not so cold ML, I go for the Taiwanese one. These two are the best versions imo
From the plot and story,, I prefer the Taiwan version,, but from acting truly kotoko shows the dumbest version for sure.. And for irie shows lot of details expressions as an introvert,
The Taiwanese version will always be my favorite, but the Japanese version has the best 2nd season ending. Seeing them be parents was just sooo satisfying.

I think the Japanese one is better, except for those Extra's eccentric acting... but that's how Japanese express their feelings lol. The ML and FL conversation here is just too awkward for me, it's like i am watching the FL doing the Love O2O Sheng Zhuang's first kissing scene in it.😬
I prefer Naoki and Kotoko cuz I like the exaggerated acting 😂 I feel more their emotions, specially Kotoko's acting. Naoki gave justice to his role he's really really cold person towards Kotoko so annoying and red flag but this make me want to watch more bcs in the end, he grows a lot to express his love for Kotoko ❤

The taiwanese version is so good because it shows character development of both mcs, The scenes also felt so natual, the chemistry was so good and the main lead definitely didn't annoy.
I personally prefer the Japanese version more since it is extremely detailed on the character's perspective.I understand that the reactions are exaggerated but for me,that's what makes me more drawn into the show.I also found some comments that they prefer Jiang Zhi Shu than Naoki Irie since Naoki was too cold but Naoki's love was just really subtle and indirect.I've also re-watched Mischievous Kiss ENOUGH to understand Naoki's POV and watched this channel Machitsuki.I'm impressed with Yuki Furukawa's talent on delivering such an incredible performance when it comes to portraying how subtle and indirect an introvert's love can be.He really deeply loved Kotoko,he just didn't make it that obvious and hid it well but you would know that Naoki really loves Kotoko from the expressions he gives aswell as his words that has a meaning behind it since he tends to say things indirectly when it contains vulnerability. And if you also look at the other character's POV,you would also understand what kind of personas each of them has.And that's one of the reasons why i love the show so much but i also love the other versions.
I also think so too. I prefer Japanese version of this than the it's Taiwanese counterpart. But I am more drawn to the character development of the Taiwanese one when it comes to it's leads. In this scene he purposely loudly so everyone would focus their attention on them. It's like indirectly gathering people around for an announcement/ confirmation. Then he proceeded to call her by her first name ( in Japanese culture being called on first name basis were reserved for close and intimate relationships of people ) so I think he kind of shouted her first name to let people knew her claim wasn't false. He also indirectly hinted that they are living in the house by talking about how her mom wanted her wallet as she somehow forgot it. He didn't say it was her mom. He just said mom wanted to give you this. The sentence implies that both of them is married
I haven't watched the movies though but that japanese guy ain't acting like no introvert in the clip shown. What kind of introvert shouts a person's name from across the room, drawing all attention to them, proceeds to leave his message loudly. I haven't watched the movie but in these clip the taiwanese dude was more introverted.

Taiwanese version for sure. Also Taiwanese version came out maybe 10 yrs b4 Japanese version so it did an amazing job for its time also the female lead was known for playing Zhang Qin and being a good actress and was the first idol actress to win best actress award for Golden Bell for SS2 of the series. Which is a really bug deal in Taiwan. Also the Taiwan version was more emotional (but still very funny) but the Japanese version was more comical which i guess is more the Japanese anime and drama style.
The 1996 japanese version is good too..eventhough just 1 season but it gave a different vibe and for me Takashi Kashiwabara version of Naoki is the most handsome Naoki..but I like all version of Itazura na Kiss especially Yuki and Honoka version..^_^

It's started with a Kiss (2005- Taiwanese Drama series) 3. Playful Kiss (2010- Korean drama Series) 4. Mischievous Kiss (2013- Japanese Drama Series) 5. Itazurana Kiss Movie (By parts) Personally, among of 5, Mischievous is my favorite since all the actors played accurately the traits of the characters and their reactions are hilarious. However, I love how intimate the couple in the taiwanese version.
Thank you for giving us the name of this drama. Hate when things are posted without the name of the drama. So frustrating ! How can more people make the dramas popular if we aren’t given the name
Both ladies did an excellent job in these roles. I adored how easily Xiang Qin would get worked up about all things Jiang Zhi. All the times she'd be talking and laughing to herself in his presence, and he looked at her like she was a crazy person. Kotoko had the best facial expressions. Everything was over the top. My favorite episode is when she faints after misunderstanding Irie's situation. I laughed until I cried.
The japanese kotoko and irie always be my favorite! Not even once irie make fun of kotoko naiveness. I love that he think its her charm. Kotoko make sure while she is dumb but she is not stupid as well too. Plus, Irie was very consistent with her cold aura. He looked very cool eventhough Jiang zhi shu win interm of look but... Zhi shu is annoying and such a choding 😂
I was 18 or 19 when I watched Taiwanese version of ISWAK ,. Zhishu and Xiangqin were the reason why until now I'm still dreaming of happy ending 😅😂 ,now Im 37 I am still waiting for my true love because of them.
Taiwan's version is the best!! I watched this when I was 13yrs old and now Im turning 30 how time flies but i think taiwan version's incomple 😢 been waiting for season 3 but I know it's impossible 🥺
i will watch any version of this story from any country, lol. these two are my favorite out of the 5 i've seen. it started with a kiss was one of my very first asian dramas, so it's very nostalgic to me. it seems more realistic, while the japanese one is more stylized like a true manga adaption. i love them both.
My girl Jung So Min carried the whole Korean version. She turned the most annoying and ridiculous character into the funniest and most adorable female lead ever ❤❤❤
Oh how I was looking for the version the kdrama version as well I like all different dramas versions 😊 Chinese,Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese,Thai 😊😊😊 happy watching everyone so get you're a snacks 🍟🥪🌭🍔🍗🌮🥘🍦🥤🧋🍿 sit back,no matter whichever one you choose they're all good 👍🏾😊
Superb acting by Yuki ! He’s the best version by far. Also Kotoko is genuinely silly and dense and the exaggerated emotions are much better than the detailed Taiwanese version which looks a bit strained and boring. Also the supporting cast of the Japanese version is way superior to the Taiwanese one. Even the Korean version is fun though not too happy with Suengyo . The female lead and supporting cast are much better . But the Japanese version is still the best .
They made kotoko in Taiwanese version look weak and stupid. Her constant stomping of feet everytime she tries to prove her point make her look under confident and depressed. I love that in the Japanese version naoki had eyes on his wife only. Look how he called her name, spotted her, went to her , gave her the thing and went back without paying attention to all the screaming. This makes him cool and shows his behaviour.
@@suchibansal7558lol he's eyes only to he's wife? I can't even count how many time's he made he's wife doubt of him and over think honestly naoki in the Japanese version was just a big red flag
I prefer the Taiwanese version also. I call this the rated R version. It was more raw for lack of a better word. The story and acting was just better. Next I would say the new Japanese version. I completely disliked the Korean version which is odd because I typically like Korean dramas. I just wish they went into the pregnancy like the anime did for the newer Japanese one.
Honestly, I prefer the Thailand version, it does stray a bit from the original but I like the story better, it gives them a background story of when they were little and basically makes it the reason why he’s like that with her and it also shows him showing more emotions and I like that for once she actually rejects him during the rain scene and doesn’t go to him right away. I never liked that about Kotoko and Naoki, he was terrible to her because he was jealous and didn’t know how to handle it and made her feel horrible, he even told her to go home with another man, then he goes and says how he feels and she forgives him so easily. It’s something very frustrating to watch how they embrace the humiliation and at this point are ok with it, they need to have some self love and make these guys fight to get them back at times and not let them feel like they can step all over them and they will still go back to them with just a few nice words.
Kotoko does have that scene in the rain she tell him she’ll marry Kin Chan instead which panics him - good for him- it’s a minor role but she put fire under his butt. In season two she actually lashes out at him very harshly and tears apart their room yelling at him about his cold behavior which causes him to have to get his act together and fast. It’s not very often in the show but I’m glad she has her moments.
as a Big Fan of Itazura na kiss ❤❤❤❤ i would personally love to watch Countless times without getting bored the Japanese version 😂😂 the nostalgic and the Feeling was Always there huhuhu . i would love to see naoki and kotoko when i feel down they are my happy fill ❤❤mischevous kiss in Tokyo are hillarious 😂😂😂😂
When I was 14, I preferred the Taiwanese version. But now, at 21, I've just watched the Japanese version and I'm completely captivated by Naoki. He's very cold and hot man . Sometimes he's a red flag, but I'm blinded :)))). So now, for me, the Japanese version is the best. I can't get over him
Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin did it best. There's love in Jiang Zhi Shu's eyes whenever he looks at Xiang Qin. He played the character perfectly. I feel like Naoki Irie is too stiff, needs more emotion especially after marriage. But it's still good. ...and then there's the Korean version. I'm sorry but...meh 😅
I love both versions to be honest, each has its own perks. But I love how more expressive of his affections Zhi Shu is in private. You could see just how much he LOVED Xiang Qin. And that's what upset me in the japanese version, the moments where Naoki would actually open up to Kotoko or spare her a smile or a loving glance were scarce and you could feel it in Kotoko's constant insecurity about their relationship. In the Taiwanese version, ml made it clear as soon as he could, she was his wife, and he can not live without her because she has become a part of himself. He even says it "where else could I find someone who would accept all my flaws". And I love how in the Taiwanese version, the father actually stoop up for ml's way of treating his daughter, something that was lacking in the japanese version imho. But the Japanese remained more close to the Manga (even tho naoki was more loving in the manga). Comedy wise Taiwan wins and I won't lie. Romantically wise too. The love felt real. I am so done with the fake kisses in the japanese ver.
I like KOTOKO the best! Although she’s dumb but she looks so sweet without trying so hard. The Chinese actress looks like she’s crazy from over-acting.

I give this point to Japan for just one reason: Moto chan.
The Taiwanese version is my absolute favorite!!!❤❤❤
I was 18 or 19 when I watched Taiwanese version of ISWAK
,. Zhishu and Xiangqin were the reason why until now I'm still dreaming of happy ending 😅😂 ,now Im 37 I am still waiting for my true love because of them.
Japanese version for me is the best❤They portrait the role very well, I love Naoki and Kotoko❤
I prefer the taiwanese , The best version ever
Taiwan's version is the best!! I watched this when I was 13yrs old and now Im turning 30 how time flies but i think taiwan version's incomple 😢 been waiting for season 3 but I know it's impossible 🥺
The Japanese version will always have a special place in my heart💗 Kotoko and Naoki foreveeer!
i will watch any version of this story from any country, lol. these two are my favorite out of the 5 i've seen. it started with a kiss was one of my very first asian dramas, so it's very nostalgic to me. it seems more realistic, while the japanese one is more stylized like a true manga adaption. i love them both.
Taiwan for me the first version will always have a nostalgic feels
kotokos facial expressions will never not END me
Comparing these two is like comparing an apple and an orange. Both have their own uniqueness ❤
I wathed every version of itazaru na kiss but still prefer Taiwanese. Best acting, quality, scenerio. Japanese also good but...
I love both versions, all versions in fact hahaha. I'm a sucker for these kind of storylines. ❤
My girl Jung So Min carried the whole Korean version. She turned the most annoying and ridiculous character into the funniest and most adorable female lead ever ❤❤❤
I watch the both of them and i love them so much ❤
Oh how I was looking for the version the kdrama version as well I like all different dramas versions 😊 Chinese,Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese,Thai 😊😊😊 happy watching everyone so get you're a snacks 🍟🥪🌭🍔🍗🌮🥘🍦🥤🧋🍿 sit back,no matter whichever one you choose they're all good 👍🏾😊
Kotoko has guts she is so powerfull cheerful and charming her funny face expressions are just amazing I really love kotoko i preffer kotoko .....
In case anyone is wondering, this is from the second season of the taiwanese and the japanese adaptations of a manga called 'playful kiss'
Japanese version ❤️❤️❤️
Tbh Taiwanese is better for me. The other is just not it for me, the acting is weird and i dont feel no emotion whatsoever
taiwanese ver will always be my fave and it's my comfort drama🩷🩷🩷
I love the Japanese 1 the most this couple is everything 🥰🥰🥰
Kotoko❤❤❤ believe it or not I always replay when Naoki calls Kotoko ❤❤❤ so gentle this voice nehhh
Loving you always Kotoko and Irie❤❤❤❤
Korean version is my fav cuz didn't know that this two version exist😂
Actually 3 versions
The Japanese Version is besttttttttt❤❤❤❤❤
Pogiiii joseph cheng will always be my favorite huhu
I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WAS THIS VERSION, I NEED TO WATCH IT IMMEDIATELY
I prefer the Taiwanese version also. I call this the rated R version. It was more raw for lack of a better word. The story and acting was just better. Next I would say the new Japanese version. I completely disliked the Korean version which is odd because I typically like Korean dramas. I just wish they went into the pregnancy like the anime did for the newer Japanese one.
Japanese!! More comical, and irie really portrayed someone who is introvert!
I didn't watch this two versions but I watched Korean version and playful kiss is my fav drama.
I don't know why people do not like Korean version
For me this two versions are the best and the old Japanese version ranks second.
From watching this movie, I have watched only the Korean and Japanese version! I will watch the Chinese version now!
I love the Taiwanese version, it's more related to the manga
as a Big Fan of Itazura na kiss ❤❤❤❤ i would personally love to watch Countless times without getting bored the Japanese version 😂😂 the nostalgic and the Feeling was Always there huhuhu . i would love to see naoki and kotoko when i feel down they are my happy fill ❤❤mischevous kiss in Tokyo are hillarious 😂😂😂😂
they kissed again ep 8 Jiang Zhi Shu's wife and the first drama to it is it started with a kiss
I cried many times in Taiwan version 😢😂😅
I hate exaggerated acting but EXCEPT KOTOKO! She nailed it
Taiwan version's perspective of camera is kinda chaotic.. but love it ❤
Movie name plz
When I was 14, I preferred the Taiwanese version. But now, at 21, I've just watched the Japanese version and I'm completely captivated by Naoki. He's very cold and hot man . Sometimes he's a red flag, but I'm blinded :)))). So now, for me, the Japanese version is the best. I can't get over him
Taiwanese version
Ariel lin and Joseph cheng please my chance sana sa part 3 2024 na beke naman
Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin did it best. There's love in Jiang Zhi Shu's eyes whenever he looks at Xiang Qin. He played the character perfectly. I feel like Naoki Irie is too stiff, needs more emotion especially after marriage. But it's still good.
...and then there's the Korean version. I'm sorry but...meh 😅
my favorite ❤❤ japanese version 😊
Drama names and their version s
I like KOTOKO the best! Although she’s dumb but she looks so sweet without trying so hard. The Chinese actress looks like she’s crazy from over-acting.
Kotoko and Irie are the cutest
well now i just want to rewatch it especially season 2
The main thigs always remains best as the j verion is much better
The Taiwanese version, to me, was the best. My younger days❤❤
