    How did you so easily with one click move the newly added bus channel back over to where it is next to your drum tracks? You seem to know a shortcut there that I don’t!

    I mean isn't 7 on that compressor the slowest setting? to the left its .1 ms right?

    Quick question to help me better understand a little bit better. Why didn’t you use the pre-fader in this parallel video like you did in the other parallel video?

    For the first option:
    Why don’t you just put a comp on your drum bus, make all your settings(ratio, thresh etc) and tweak the dry/wet knob to fill in the punch?
    Can’t understand why I need to do all that send, extra channel thing…could you please explain? Thx

      I've wondered about this and I think it's because you want this to sit underneath the drums and push them up if that makes sense. Throwing it on the drum bus will not accomplish this, it'll just perform some wild compression mildly. You miss out on the doubling that happens as well.

      Maybe to not affect the input signal of other plugins following compression.

    How did you move that aux track drum bus in the mixer? at 1:42 Never been able to do that...

      @@oskarmattsson2031 Ah, so it's not an Aux channel anymore, it's a track used as a Bus. Thanks!

    What’s the difference between the drum bus and the all drums tracks ?

    I am also confused about the slow and fast attacks. Logic tells me it should be the other way around.Could you please explain?

    • @AnteroJokinen
      @AnteroJokinen 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Some compressors, like 1176 emulations, have 1-7 attack (not ms.). Always read the manuals. :)

    I'm going to comment this as well.. SHELLS?

    • @GetSongsDone
      @GetSongsDone 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kick, Snare, and Toms. Careful with this "trick". Maybe better to parallel the shells individually since they likely don't play at the same time. Parallel compression is typically used to get a pumping or breathing rhythmic effect going. Works better with full drum mix, or just cymbals, or overhead mics IMO

  • @TonyRaybeats

    bro I thought a fast attack would be .1 ? not 7.0?

    • @adicciomusic
      @adicciomusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats a FET compressor. 1 means slow and 7 means fastest

      "Shell" is the wooden part of a drum, its "body".

      It probably means only kick, snare and toms.

  • @Pjaysusity

    Compression for dummies....pick me! Why say a setting of 7 on the attack is fast and 1 is slow? It's messing with my brain. I've also never heard drum shells used in any DAW process (over 1000 videos from TH-cam, MacProVideo and others)....interesting. Something new everyday. #SinceEmagic

    • @DJLILS
      @DJLILS 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      on most compressors 1 will always be the fastest i guess the compressor he used is a 1176 (famous vintage compressor) emulation. with the 1176's and all the clones like the klarkteknik 76-kt and waves cla76 the numbers for attack and release are switched.
      No clue why tho
