I love that dowager doesn't hold back her praise of Ruyi and that he gets to hear the truth that he was so determined to ignore...that out of them all, only Ruyi had only him in her heart and all that she wanted was to be with him and that she was true to him..working in the quiet, slowly getting enough evidence to take the true evil down. That true evil that he had kept close at hand to flatter him, that evil that hurt so many and it was his fault because he became so dimwitted and selfish that he wanted his ego stroked, he only wanted those that indulged him. He tortured Ruyi and others because of the things he was lacking in and I love that he gets to realise it and that he never gets the peace of mind of her forgiveness.

Eventhough the emporer admitted that he wrongly blamed Ruyi many times he did not beg for forgiveness. In stead he suggested she forget about al those humiliating events
" what is in the past is in the past. Don't let it stay on your mind" 😮.
Really very arrogant and selfish behavior. How could she ever forgive him.
