@@OperationFoxley19441 do you come to crossbow videos expecting there not to be comments about hunting? Thats like the whole point of having two barrels.
If you want my honest opinion !!!! The youngster tried his best to promote this crossbow but I think you took a step backwards with this one !!! It looked very awkward to load this bow !!! I was so impressed when you came out with an all in one cranking feature . To me you took a step backwards on this bow !!! #2 To load the bolts !! mad does that look awkward you damn near have to look down the rail to load them !!! Try doing that in a hurry or under stress #3 Which bolt is the dominate bolt top or bottom you better have your finger on the right trigger under stress or in a hurry !!! Maybe it's just me but now 2 strings 2 screws that need to be clean all the time !!! It's a tough sell for me but I am sure you will sell a few !!! Sorry to be so negative but in my mind I am honest in this review !!!
Awesome! My vertical bow set up is built with getting a second shot fast, a 2nd shot at a critter is very common with a vertical bow. Second shots with a crossbow is very, very unlikely until now. If you are a traveling hunter, it seems to me that this crossbow is exactly what you need. Although this crossbow maybe a touch heavy, knowing that the odds are super low of having a failure end your hunt has to be priceless. Everything that pushes the envelope seems like gimmick, but I guarantee that if Ten Point or Ravin could get 2 shots with there crossbows, they would do it. There are more people then not that could have taken an additional shot at an animal or end the life of a critter faster. This crossbow is a winner for sure.
Interesting, innovative and possibly useful to have two arrows (bolts if you prefer) on tap ready to shoot...but not for me. I hope Excalibur offers the exact same setup with just one set of limbs. A trimmed down single-shot in this configuration would for the first time make this Exomax guy consider upgrading.
Ok the new safety is cool, love the cease fire, like the new grip, don't like the double limbs, to gimmicky, the overall weight is way to heavy, and a 4 pound trigger, with really no upgrade in speed. No thanks, excalibur is all about simple, not twice as many things to go wrong. Just my 2 cents.
Is it possible to fire in any order or must it be top then bottom? Reason for this question, load a bone breaker broad head on one side and a flesh destroyer on the other, depending on how your kill animal presents itself you could choose the best broad head for the angle of target presentation
I think it's neat. I've only used Ex Cal xbows since they made them legal. I haven't needed a follow up shot. If a getthe broad side shot I shoot them in the scapula, the fall flat on there face. If quartering the run off, but not far. 1st shot placement is everything
Interesting concept, could have used it last fall. Would have ended my season the first morning. Can’t wait to see some videos from the field during hunting season. Make for an interesting bear season.
Scenario: You get to the stand, get the bow pulled up and just as you start to load, that buck you have been after makes a surprise visit. Can you cock one set of limbs, load the bolt, and shoot the deer? If so, do you have to cock a specific set of limbs? Everyone I see cocks the bottom first. Just wondering if you could just load and fire either the top or bottom if one so chooses. Thanks.
I appreciate the honest review, but, your on an in-door range and you really should have shot 2 at the same time and showed us the target. I think it is a cool idea, but I will stick to my single shot x-bow for now.
In a few years, you will be able to buy them used at a fraction of what they are going for new. Same goes for any brand/model crossbow so check your facebook page for bargains.
Nah the much much cheaper cobra r9 or cheap shot 130 has home defence sorted. The ek adder rx can throw 5 bolts in 20 seconds im sure. 7.5in bolts but still. 240fps. Another pistol crossbow just came out too. Its a compound pistol crossbow 120lbs 270-330fps. But doesn't have a magazine. Yet lol.
Ive seen a bunch of videos of arrows deflecting on tiny branches that the hunter couldnt see in the low light of dawn or dusk. Sometimes things happen, hopefully you stay perfect :)
@@therealgabrielcash I have missed plenty. But deer usually run off at the sound of a crossbow firing. I really doubt that anyone would get a follow up shot.
....for all of the crossbow hunters in The People's Republic of NJ, this "whatever, you want to call it" is ILLEGAL as a hunting implement in 2021-2022. Please check to confirm....Also, those in other other states you should check your hunting regs for similar restrictions!
.....you are absolutely correct....The People's Republic of New Jersey -Division of Fish and Wildlife just came out and said it is NOT legal in the State for the 2021-2022 hunting season.....check your state regulations!
To be honest...I think someone might get seriously hurt with this crossbow, if someone accidentally knocks something while pissing about trying to cock that 2nd string you can kiss your fingers good bye, nah not for me.
Very surprised you need to leave it on fire for cocking. Those worries could easily have been rendered moot if you could do that on safe. Edit: oh, nm the ceasefire system prevents the string from moving without the Arrow nocked so as long as you nock the lower limbs first, that should be completely safe.
cough...cough.... Chinese repeating Crossbows in 400 BCE, so not really the world's first unless only 2 bolts is the world first you want to claim. cough...cough... That’s so stupid , one will shoot high and other bolt will shoot low neither will hit in same spot other one does , I don’t even consider this crossbow archery , it’s like using a semi auto rifle during muzzle loader season , and having to load the bolt from the front isn’t a safe idea either loading it having to hold tip of broadhead to push bolt in , what if the string comes out of cocking position and slings the bolt out when loading , its stupid in so many ways 🤦
Its dumb to begin with. If you cant kill a animal in the first shot. If you cant this isnt gonna help out at all. What if something goes wrong. Its really the most stupid thing ive seen for crossbows.
Great video Brody. Thanks for putting it out! I bought the bow and can confirm your findings. Looking forward to seeing more of your demos. Thanks!
I love the look of the war bow. The ability to make a fast follow up shot on dangerous game I like.
I wanna kill a jaguar with this.
@@suicideclub8462 Leave the jaguar alone and try it on yourself, the Jaguar has the right to live like you.

It would be sick if this was a standard feature on more xcals. I don't care what anyone says 2 shots is better than 1
It’s like a double barrel shotgun in archery.
Problem is I doubt they will group together well past 30
C'mon man-pull both at the same time-you know that's what we want to see/do.

This is a great display of engineering.
What if you want to use a lighted nock? Would the lighted nocks be compatible with the anti-dry fire system?
Lighted nocks with the Rhino Nock will be available.

Never have taken a follow up shot wow
if a limbs or a string broke, no problem you have a second rail. In country‘s with a hard weapon law is good for home defense too.
This 2-shot may make some people happy, but it sure ain't my cup of tea. Does Excalibur come with other (normal) crossbows also this year?
Interesting concept, could have used it last fall. Would have ended my season the first morning. Can’t wait to see some videos from the field during hunting season. Make for an interesting bear season.
Is there an element of danger of the lower arrow firing unintentionally after the first shot? Say you are excited and leave the safety off.
What is the recommended weight for field points/broadheads?

Daryl in walking dead need one so bad.
Sounds like a great idea however in many states this bow is illegal for hunting due to the ability to load and shoot more than a single shot.
Can't shoot it outside because it's cold while sitting in front of a full indoor range lol

Great video. Makes me want one. Just for the cool factor.
Lolo would be proud
Some people might find it useful but it's just not for me and the price tag over two grand way out of my league

$2,222.22 in Canada! Interesting list price - some marketing wizardry I'd say!

I can only see interest for 1 shot = big game, 1 shot loaded for small game (coyote/grouse)
Why? Can you not hit the animal the first time?
Why not?

All I've ever needed was one well placed shot to kill that game animal. Nice idea though.
