    Hey friends, How do YOU record your Bass? Do you use any plugins? Maybe even EZ Bass?

    • @TheShyArmyTV
      @TheShyArmyTV 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I record it midi . I don’t have a bass. I use the built in plug in on Logic Pro 9 called, session bass.

      @@SongwritersLounge i use a tobias with active pups for the heavier stuff, and a fender t-bucket acoustic for the more folksy stuff i make. all done through a super cheap epi practice amp, but i'm thinking of getting a new interface since my old one blew up so i can do some DI stuff

    Played with it the whole evening yesterday. This thing is crazy good. Cool job Toontrack. So glad with it. I passed all the other bass software from Waves, Cubase and whatnot and it was definitely the right decision for me :)

    I am not real shore if this is the "replace your bassist" vst but, I can see it being a real production tool. The first thing I don't like about it is the price, half the price and I "Might" consider it worth it. Just saying, it's not going to be the same as plugging in my bass and recording a great take. Now it's MIDI features such as audio to midi, follow MIDI chords, would be useful to enhance tracks in production and mixing but, I can already do this in my DAW. So this is a lot of money for a BASS sample library.

      I get you, man! Completely see where you're coming from. I think this is a great piece of software for if you dont have a bass, or you have a bass that doesnt record well.
      Other than that, you cant beat the real thing.
      Getting better at bass and writing bass parts is top my "things to improve on" list.

      Having bought it, considering what tou get, this is a bargain (and I actually own a real base, but i never suceeding getting the right metal tone). Buy it now, they will likely increase price in the future.

    I wish there was deep and critical review on this software. The tracking midi isnt particular good for e.g. metal.

    • @TheShyArmyTV
      @TheShyArmyTV 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I gotta agree. I am slightly disappointed with the software. I thought it was going to speed up the writing process much more but it still a challenge to use this software as far as the flow .

    • @callez2402
      @callez2402 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheShyArmyTV I have been using i it for a few days now making a metall song. I have to admit I was initially pretty disapointed realizing its its not a perfect interface, and there is considerable labor involved (e. g. with the Midi tracking). Still, for me its a complete game changer and I am absolutely thrilled. It sounds tight and real, and for the first time in my case, true metal (and still only the raw mix) . With experince work flow develop and as do speed. Thats my experience up to now. In the end, it sounds so good I guess I will never use anything other again (for amatour home recording, in my case).

    • @neospora6678
      @neospora6678 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, he uses very quick slides over a short amount of time. If you program EZbass in a more realistic/musical way, it sounds very good. Any sampler can be programmed to sound more or less realistic. In this video we've got some good examples of how efficient it is to work with EZbass, and I think that is the point of the video.

    • @nichttuntun3364
      @nichttuntun3364 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can program it more fine tuned and it's getting lost in a good mix anyways. I wouldn't use it on a single bass part. Don't forgot, people often use just a synth bass with more or less no articulation. This is a great step forward. You can't compare contract with this. This is a complete sequencer workstation with incredible features. And it's version 1.0 :)
      It's amazing for what it is and what it does and how it sounds.

      It gets REALLY good if you spend the time to tinker around with it!
      I have really gotten into the weeds with it the last couple of days and you can make it sound SO good when you spend the time on it.
