歌謡曲位しか知らなかった中学生当時、私も心からそう思ってました。 が、何人もの人がコメントしてるけど、 ちょっと音楽聴くようになるとAOR、コンテンポラリーソウルのド定番whatcha gonna do for meの丸パクりであることに気づき、恥ずかしい思いをしました。 彼のような職人的ポジションのシティポップ系アーティストの主要作品ですら、そういうのいくらでも出てきます。 リスペクトやモチーフならいいけど、リズムやフックとなる骨格的要素を明らかに借用してるのは萎えるし、 先を行くどころか10年近く前の手垢のつきまくったスタンダードを上塗りしただけで、堂々とフレッシュな新曲のようにリリースできるのはリスナーをなめてる証拠。カバーの方がまだ潔いと思う。

Love that slick synth sound production of the late 80's early 90's. Reminds of stuff Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul and others were putting out around this time. I also like hearing what this era sounded like musically in other countries.

なるほど、最初の短い文ですと誤解が生じてしまいますね。
というか、厳密に言えば私の表現に誤りがあります。
「曲」ではなく「音 Sound」に対して「これが80年代のものに思えない」という驚きですね。
確か以前に他の動画で同様の指摘を受けまして、チャカの原曲(？)が存在する事を知りました。
「あっ、ホントですね😳」が私の返信だったと思います(笑)。
チャカさんの原曲は、やはり70年代の匂いしか感じられないのに対して、ブラッシュアップ(という表現が合ってるかわかりませんが)されたこの曲のSoundは、やはり今聴いても80年代のものとは思えないという事です。
私の中で、この曲がオリジナルとして世に出たものか、コピー或いはモチーフとして世に出たものかは究極言えばどっちでも構わないです。
音楽関係者ではなく、あくまでも素人の拙い感想なので😅

and japan has similarity with usa but it has difference nuance just like in another country
