    The brushwork in each of the cut sunflowers paintings and studies is so wonderfully dynamic and energetic!

    This was in my recommended and I just assumed this was a huge page because of the really thorough study, and very well made, consumable and educational style. Then i saw it only has under 200 views! You have an underrated page considering the effort and professionalism you have! Great work! I'll sub of course, but I sure hope you get more attention, this is well made content!

    Patty-My favorite one is the painting that has the dark blue background. I like them all but that one is my favorite. I love his iris paintings.

      Yes, his irises are also magnificent!

    Even though I am not a huge fan of the artist, I have enormous respect for his mastery of colour and brush stroke combinations. I didn't appreciate his capabilities u til I was able to get my nose up close to one of his works - a little painting of a haystack in the MFA in Boston. Photographs can't convey the phenomenal richness of his colour. Any one of these sunflower paintings has so many yellows in it that it boggles my mind.

      Nicely said. It is certainly a very different experience when seeing one of his sunflowers in person.

    I paid $2500 for a good replica of the Philadelphia 12 sunflowers 1889 "copy" with a nice 19th century Baroque frame and I treasure it more than some of my original oil paintings by contemporary artists... I can't imagine what It must be like to have an original hanging in front of me.

    • @AmuzeArt
      @AmuzeArt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice. I remember seeing the one in the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It was in a room full of other great artworks, but the Sunflowers was the painting that really beamed off the wall.

    An excellent and very informative video, thank you for creating it. I've seen several of the original paintings and they really do beam off of the wall with their amazing colour combinations and impasto paint.

    I really enjoyed this longer video. It's one of those works that I have seen so many times, but I still learned quite some new things. Very interesting to hear how Gauguin's taste influenced this painting. I never realized his role, but it seems to make sense given the colorful works Gauguin made himself. And my favorite is probably the one with the blue background, maybe because it's the one we see the least.

    • @AmuzeArt
      @AmuzeArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you enjoyed it the longer format. The good thing about Van Gogh's work is that we have quite some reliable information through the letters Van Gogh wrote. It really documents the motivation and process for these paintings. And on top of that, we can read directly about some of Gauguin's views of this process (and perhaps not surprisingly, they don't always agree on things).

      @@AmuzeArt That is true, and I believe all those letters have also contributed to his popularity.

    What a pleasant video. I like the version in the Van Gogh museum. One of my teachers told me that the paintings Van Gogh gave to his doctor were used by the doctor's sons as target practice. Van Gogh's paintings of sunflowers are no worth several $100 million.

    Thank you very much ! Loved this! I was fortunate to be three feet away from one sunflower at the Jeu de Paume in 1979 when I was 16. I think I know which one but any help would be appreciated. Its beauty was stunning.

    Goghが深い愛情と共感を寄せた農民の花ひまわり、17世紀のキリスト教における聖なる人物のイメージなどを象徴するひまわり、私はギリシャ神聖のクリュティエを思いだしました。
