  • In this series, I build a complete Iron Man Hulkbuster cosplay with animatronics and mechatronics with a step-by-step guide to cover everything you’ll need to build your very own suit. From 3D printing the parts to installing the mechanics that make this whole suit wearable and actually able to walk around.

Iron Man is my go-to cosplay, and 3D printing can solve most issues - broken bolts, missing parts, world hunger, you name it.

I think all the waiting for the Hulkbuster reveal got my hopes too high, it's completely understandable that with the size and weight it's likely very hard to maneuver. It might not be very quick but it looks utterly fantastic. From the lights to the mechanics, it certainly would have been a sight. Seriously love this channel James, keep up the amazing work.

I work around kids sometimes too. It's okay to knock a few of them over from time to time. They're resilient. lolol
On a serious note, two cameras attached to stereo vision head gear would give you a depth hack to your brain. It'll seem to your senses that the mech hands are where your actual hands are. I think they did it on Fraggle Rock for their large puppets. The trick is to space the cameras apart to a ratio that matches your eyes, somehow mathematically related to the final height of the system, and calibrated to your individual eye spacing. Thanks again man.
Can't wait to see your exo-skeleton. Or is it a full exo-suit ¿

All the work you do is absolutely brilliant!
Yes, it is odd that anybody puts that crazy amount of time, effort and eventually money into something that has no purpose in real life - but still the skills you have to figure all this out and make it work are mindblowing!
I don't get how people dare to post those insulting comments, they apparently have too many problems in their own lives, so they yell at others instead of getting their own shit done.
However, keep up the great work!

With so much space in the suit could have made the movement of arms, although this very good design, keep in mind that for huge costumes is necessary Exoskeleton for weight support, you used lots of arduino components, you could have simplified it using a MINI PC , to which you would add a system of Relays, and the rest would be programming, and as advice, you could make use of Compressed Air, to move parts naturally.
if you ever do a 2.0 version of HULK BUSTER, we can exchange ideas

I don't understand why you expose the insides of BB-8 when demoing it at cons. I get that you want to show off how it works, but it's a bit like going to a magic show and having the magician explain all of his tricks up front - it kinda kills the magic. I understand that that's my personal opinion though, but I'm curious.

Hulkbuster: Great to see you walk in the Hulkbuster. A bit scary though. Was it tough? The arms seemed pretty dangly, was hoping for more life in them.
Powerdroid: A fun thing you could do is to play the song "The Gonk" (known from Dawn of the dead) but using the original gonk-droid sample in different pith. (Go-gonk-go-gonk! Go-gonk, go-gonk! Go-gonk, go gonk go-gonk-go-gonk gonkgonk!)
Walking humanoid robot: How about something that people normally cant wear as a costume (so we never or very seldom se them at conventions) like IG-88, a Pit droid or a Terminator? =)
