Thanks Brendan, but i'm hoping it will be more than one finger I will be playing. My wife who just passed would be disapointed.Listening and following you ,I will try hard to make it at least 5.✋ Your doing excellant work teaching people.👍
Hi Brendan, these vids are brilliant man, after a week with no prior experience at all i can do a passable rendition of this, will slowly (and i mean slowly!) work my way through your entire channel, i got da bug! Boogie on Dr K
I've been watching your vids for a long time now, bought my own keyboard and learned a simple 12 bar bass line with the left hand. Now when I try to play with the left and right together that's when my left hand goes from hero to zero, this stuff is hard :(
wow this really is working for me i have swanee river and the saints on midi file for my yamaha kb and followwing your advice i am slowly getting there. will follow only your lessons from now on. Dr K is the greatest.
Hi Dr K The best lessons ever so thanks a ton and keep them coming! A silly question but the left hand in this video is based on the 12 bar blues ? C F G..? Thanks again Matt
Hey, index finger - that is a great style you have there. And the guy hanging onto you is not a bad player either! Thanks for the inspiring lessons, Dr K. I have just been getting to grips with one of your earlier lessons (BWFD1) that a year ago was way beyond me. Now I have it, just need to work on the tempo. I'm struggling with those right hand runs down the keyboard though, any advice would be most welcome. Is it a case of learning some of those (cue sensational soundtrack DAN DAN DAN) scales? Boogie on!
Love this ,I want to learn to pay the piano so I can play Boogie Woogie. Would Oh When the Saints Go Marching In be a good right hand piece for Boogie Woogie? TY
In theory you can put any sing-song kind of tune to a boogie woogie beat, including "Saints". Get your left hand pumping out the rhythm and swing the right hand melody and away you go. BK
It's a very inspring lesson but I wish I could see your left hand as well in the video. It sounded different to one you covered in your lesson so far. Also the camera has such a stron rolling shutter effect, when you play fast(normal speed for you), the hand movment isn't matching the sound tht comes from it and all blurring. Can't see what you are doing well.
Man what the f%#k How can I play two hands I can’t play two Rhythms with one brain What is the secret If practice is then I’ll keep practicing I bought your book online
you talked an 85 yr. old to go for it.

I will learn this if it's the last thing I do.

Excellent lesson, thanks Brendan! As a guitar player making his first attempt on the piano this is a gem of a starter lesson
That gives me HOPE!!!!!!!!

Ooosh, I just added thirds to most of the riff and I had my own version of Swanee River. Thanks Brendan.

Boogie on!
Keep goin'
The Mixo-Blues scale! Do you use that for most of your improvisations in Boogie Woogie?
Haha this is insane!!
need a tutorial on dealing with syncopation. do i need to play the bass so often it becomes unconscious and i lose all control of my left hand?
espectacular!
Thanks, Diego. Dr K

Very good lesson
What about left hand?
LOVE YOUR VIDEO'S !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW !!!!!!
Great Video! How do I get the sheets?
What is the left hand doing? Camera person doesn't show it.
I play with my toes. It's a big stretch for my little toe.
Why don’t you transcribe the opening song on this video? Thanks
What about left hand?
I will ....... in another week ...... or 6!
Try one finger of the left hand and five of the right hand.
