নীলফামারীর বাণিজ্যিক এ উপজেলায় ছোট-বড় মিলিয়ে গড়ে উঠেছে ৪ থেকে ৫শ গার্মেন্টস কারখানা। আর প্রতিটি কারখানায় কর্মসংস্থান হয়েছে অন্তত ১০ জন মানুষের। মূলত ঢাকা থেকে কেজি প্রতি ঝুট কাপড়সহ নানা উপকরণ সংগ্রহ করেন এখানকার গার্মেন্টস মালিকরা। এসব কারখানায় জ্যাকেট ছাড়াও তৈরি হচ্ছে টি শার্ট, হুডি ও প্যান্ট।
