Only one difference, the audience. Malayalis are not blind audience, moviegoers will trash even the superstars film if the movie is bad, thus only way to survive the Malayalam industry is to make movies better.
Pushpa is not doing well in kerala while meiazhagan got good response compared to other states, Thats how content driven kerala audience is at the moment
meiazhagan is a flop in kerala. typical mindless fan bluffing through lol. meiazhagan is a hit only in andhra and telangana. this year every content movies from tamil has bombed in kerala. maharaja, meiazhagan, vazhai. literally every single content movie has bombed in kerala. what are you yapping here
I never thought I would see another world class suspense movie from Malayalam right after kishkinda kandam.. man I was wrong, sookshmadharshini blew my mind
The reason is that keralites doesn't even support or watch mid movies , so the movie makers are left with no choice other than delivering the best inorder to survive in the industry.
Delayed gratification is the key.. You take the audience till the end for the payoffs. Unlike other language movies malayalam movie makers wont try to give us high points in every ten minutes but they will slowly and meticulously and patiently build the world and ambience around us and prepare us for the final 20 minutes..
I love Ullozhukku most . A different angle of insight in a story of a mother and a married woman. Their crisis and the solution with one sacrifice throws another light on a relationship newly discovered and developed by conscience and humanity. Both the women characters portrayal is absolutely brilliant and they are praiseworthy. Very good film !

Since 70's onwards the Malayalam film industry is the best , but the absence of ott platforms and dubbed versions it didn't go to a larger audience in India, now there are several ott platforms and also audiences watching Malayalam films through subtitles. In mollywood content make movie hit or flop stardom doesn't matter that's a good sign if several industries audiences started following this strategy all our industry will produce amazing movies
80's was the best era for Mollywood but the quality of the movies declined in the late 2000's. The way the industry is moving right now is the only time in the industry that I think can afford to challenge the brilliant film making of the 80's.
Malayalam movies are highly technical.... some movies like Manichitratazhu the amount of class actors ( 2 or 3 national award winners ) and production team quality is very high
Meanwhile we malayalees have been watching such quality movies since the 80s 90s Its nothing new for us Our standards of cinema is way too high that filmmakers have to constantly upgrade themselves
Malayalam film makers and artists are always outstanding since long time, but couldn’t come to pan India level as Indian cinema was ruled by bollywood. South cinemas were not given chance or value ‘madrasis, as called before. Even bollywood had remade hundreds of malayalam movies in 90s. And now, due to OTT platforms and Pan India releases, Malayalam movies are being debated. Now we are proud that ‘Madrasi’ became Mallu Movie❤❤
Malayalam film industry is in it's high time....... and happy to see it reaching every corner of the country and even world. all Dravidian language family movie industries making their own presents in world cinema . Dravidian Film Industry ✊🏾💪🏾
I didn't see the video but the thing is not just Malayalam any thriller close to reality or grounded will be good. Film makers are so out of tune with audience nowadays that's why Malayalam industry seems good.
Kerala govt. backs up finances for film making process, this paves way for the creative minds to go ahead and make the best crafted movies. While Hollywood and Telugu movies are loaded with the giant task of displaying a demigod in the name of a protagonist.
80s was the golden age of thrillers in Malayalam. Here's a list of 20 of them➡ th-cam.com/video/KfUrYYQy1Zk/w-d-xo.html But it looks like 2020s will take the crown from the 80s if more movies like the 2024 hits will be made in the coming years too.
I think its only bcs the benchmark set by our previous generation of actors/ script writers and directors are high that the audience find it difficult to become contend with average content
Audience and some reviewers who were very harsh on low quality movies can claim the credit. Unlike other industries, here the super stars get maximum criticism for poor script selection. No right thinking producer would dare to invest on a cheap story hoping to exploit actors stardom.. Quality first👍
Nowadays everyone is talking about our movies 😂 the answers is simple Our movies are like us you can't compare malayalees to the rest of India because we are differnt and our movies also
this years best thriller is mahraja not that overrated kishkintha kandam. maharaja has hit the chinese shores and has collected 50crs so far. its the fourth most watch Indian movie from across the world via Netflix.

Malayalees are always jealous and hate towards his or her own home also 😂🤣 because of their social conditioning and personal perspectives about society, gender, religion, caste and party politics etc.. I think sookshmadarshini is a well made commercial mystery thriller film with the finest visual narrative brilliance and right politics, but some malayalees do not agree because of their wrong individual politics from childhood and less information about real cinematic narratives. I think some of them are extra brilliant 💎(some filmmakers, literature people, social workers etc), But most of normal malayalees are uninformed fools 👥👥🤡💯, only my studies and opinion 😊
