It was sweet how you were trying not to dunk on her for not going full Whitney on it by brushing it off as “she was nervous, it’s so hard to hit those notes with that crowd size”. But anyone who knows KC knows that woman can belt like Whitney and do every run perfectly any day of the week. It was a HUGE risk to take by balancing the song between Dolly Parton’s original (since it was the CMA’s) and Whitney. Kelly nailed it, but it’s so hard when you first listen to it expecting something different. I loved going back and listening to it again without anticipating the classic Whitney runs and all that.

Kelly nailed it, but it’s so hard when you first listen to it expecting something different. I loved going back and listening to it again without anticipating the classic Whitney runs and all that.

Dolly Parton wrote this song. She offered it to Elvis Presley, but his manager Col. Parker, insisted only if Elvis purc g asked ownership rights. Dolly was unwilling to do that so Elvis never recorded it.
Dolly wrote this and it was her hit before Whitney's.. all 3 versions are amazing
