The show Absolutely Fabulous had a similar pair; Patsy is like Butthead, a narcissistic/sociopath while Edina is more like Beavis, she follows Patsy. If you ever watch the show, you notice how Edina treats her daughter Saffy; she treats Saffy miserably when Patsy is present, but is much nicer when Patsy is not around, and Saffy is more like a parent than a child; she knows that Patsy is a bad influence on her mother like Butthead is a bad influence on Beavis.
It's sort of their dynamic. Beavis is actually not quite dumb as Butthead, but Butthead is so self-assured that he bullies his way in charge and generally gets them both in trouble.
it has been a bit subverted but following culture and laws stuff. like they dont go for girls to score probably to avoid being cancelled and they dont react to rock n metal videos no more but sadly rock isnt mainstream no more. where it matters the most, being funny, still there! but no rocking and no trying to score they arent the same
