What a great video - I like your captions explaining the shops, restaurants, etc. You are right - Matlock Bath is like a seaside town with the many Fish and Chips eateries. 👍🙂
Thank you Ian that’s kind of you to say Thank you so much for watching my videos it really does mean a lot to me ❤️❤️ Say hello to your wife from me and thank her for watching 👍👍
Excellent video. I watch many of your videos and really enjoy them. I think your videos will help many people who are unable to travel around as they once did get the pleasure of bringing the outdoors into their homes. Thank you.
Matlock Bath is great if you're a day tripper but for the locals it's a bit harsh when you have to jump on a bus to adjacent Matlock for a pint of milk and a decent loaf . Thanks for watching , ta me duck.
I loved visiting Matlock, and you're right it's like going to the seaside without the sea! It was very cool to see dozens and dozens of bikers riding down the road or parked near a pub. The one thing I never had enough guts to do is to ride the cable cars there. I bet it's lovely perched high above the lovely village. Thanks again for reminding this American some great times in your beautiful country! :)
I live in Derby not far from Matlock ,, really enjoy watching your video lost count of how many chip shops there were 🤣 it is a beautiful place and well worth a visit .
I love Matlock bath went there with my mum in 1981 my mum grow up in Birmingham there day out in the 4 weeks school hoilday back in the 40s and 50s was to Matlock bath each year
Matlock Bath is fantastic, we visited this lovely place, while we stayed in Matlock.. Was busy when we walked round... Highly recommend, Matlock Bath hotel, we popped in their for lunch, they have an open air swimming pool, they told us the history, the pool has a spring water goes in continuous, not the same water. You was spot on what you did for us.Thank you...
Came looking for a walking tour of Matlock Bath because its the home town of my Great Granddad, who I never met, and know very little about. Its interesting that he settled in a town very similar here in rhe US. And i was shocked and delighted to see a Pagan community out and proud in the town! Thank you so much for making this video. It's helped me feel close to family.
I swear you carry the sun in your pocket!! This was a place I went to with my parents as a kid. I certainly don’t remember that many fish and chip shops 🤣 I hope you treated yourself 🥰 The last time I went a few years ago, we had lunch in the midland pub and it was delicious. Did you go on the cable card? You must go back in November for the lights and do a night video for us to watch. PLEASE🥰I was planning on going here next week, you talked me into it. Drop the sunshine off at S5 for me to borrow. Lovely video, keep on walking 😀
Went there yesterday there's huge fish in the aquarium and turtles and smaller fish too only about £3 to get in...it's a great walk if you carry on across the bridge there's also a working railway to get to Matlock for those that don't have a car you've got Gulliver kingdom theme park up the hill and the cable cars that take you to the very top of heights of Abraham with scattered fab shops walking back down so much to see in a little place
Wow dude imagine this coming up on my youtube channel only 1 mile from where i used to live in UK been there on my motorbike thousands of times on a Sunday being an avid biker . Living the other side the world now but great to see the place again 😁😁🤘🤘
So love this video of Matlock Bath. Been going to visit for decades, since I was a child. First went there with my Mum and Dad, then with my late husband. Used to be a biker and was great to be there on Sundays and mix with the bikers. Pity you didn't take us around the gardens being that it was a lovely sunny day, maybe next time. Thanks so much for bringing back such beautiful memories for me. ♥️🌹♥️
Once again you have found a must see village. Hubby could have fish & chips at a different spot every day. Then he could work off the calories rowing the boats up & down again.
I'm from Chile, when i was a child my grandmother had a small store selling cigarrettes called "Derby" 3 decades after i met on line the man i loved he was born in derby our story is tragic i went to the UK to meet him, couldnt get the visa but we met for 1 week. months after he came for 2 weeks best days ever, he had to return, he carried with him by accident in his luggage my t-shirt and my wallet with chilean money. we broke up 3 years ago for visa problems. why im seeing this video? maybe life will bring him back to me?
Wonderful video of one of my favourite places. Much like visiting, watching this made me want to move there. Thanks so much for making it. Hope I'm not speaking out of turn, but as a confirmed baldy of many years would it be rude to suggest a cap to keep the sun off?! I've not been out without one since 1983, when my first sunburn brought with it the realisation that my hair had was goin on it's own holiday! :D I'm unable to watch the Derwent Gardens video though, it's coming up as unavailable due to being private?
My cousin peter used to own the blue john shop at matlock bath for many years and jennifer his wife had the restaurant next door that had a load of railway memorabilia Inside, I remember having their annual christmas party upstairs Oh It was like a victorian christmas, happy memories.
@@GimbalWalkTV 16:45 that was their shop and next door was jennifers restaurant, as far as I know she still owns the building my dad told me recently, peter had a massive model train set In the attic, upstairs to the left was the study stroke dining room the middle Is the tiny kitchen and to the right a really homely living room
Missed out the fishpond by the pavilion never mentioned the cable cars, Heights of Abraham or Gullivers kingdom which are major attractions. Sunny Sunday afternoons brings scores of motorcyclists. Well worth a visit.
As a Londoner who has had all of the seaside resorts or Essex, Kent, and Sussex, just an hour away all my life, this seems like such a strange place! But...beautiful. 😊
I thought you might have shown the heights of Abraham cable car, I would want to see that on my trip. I just wondered if you have ever thought about wearing a hat or cap to keep the sun off?
the Traffic around there is horrendeous at this time of year as a delivery driver i avoid the place like the plague if i can as i am always delayed going through there
Hi, how long you would say it takes to have little wonder around there? I'm planing day trips for visiting family and wonder if about 2 hrs would be enough to have a nice walk around, see the place, grab something to eat etc?
Like how you said buy me a rose and the first sign in the flower shop window was for funeral flowers.... trying to tell us something after looking in the Coven window at all the skulls?
Oh what has happened to Matlock Bath?? Beloved of motorcyclists and had a row of wonderful individual quirky shops?? Back in the day there was not a chippie to be seen nor amusement arcades. So sad.
Charles Fish bar is ok ! Matlock bath was amazing 50 years ago ! . Now i think it should drop the tacky council type feel and move to "Hipster /trendy" levels
@GimbalWalkTV you did miss The Pav and the cable car. Also, much nicer walk across the river. Sadly, the Rock and Stone Museum that had no rock or stone exhibits closed down a few years ago. 🤣
Nice place, spoilt by having the most miserable and rude sweet shop/tourist junk shop owner on the planet. Likes to fleece kids. Overheard him charging different prices for the locals a rip off merchant 👍

You're done it again Gimbal 👏 another good video 📹 👏
I'm 61 now, and that deep sea diver has been in the window of the aquarium centre for as long as I can remember.
stunning place ,you should have gone on the cable cars to the heights of Abraham ,fantastic views .
Great video as always. Looks like a lovely place completely let down by the constant traffic and the traffic noise. Is it always like that I wonder?
Good question
It’s a very busy road that’s for sure
I enjoyed the video I've never been to Matlock bath it's a great place and has lovely views hope you are safe and well god bless
Nice isn’t it Pearl!
Yes it is

A nice video of our village. Just a shame you did not venture up the George Centre arcade and missed us and a couple of other local businesses.
I’m heading back very soon so will do that on the next one for sure!
Hello. Good film. Thnx👍👍👍👍
Thank you!
The Balti is also very good, just remember to book if you are there at a weekend

Lovely and Beautifull tour . Thank you.
Wow ,amazing ,I only saw two motorcycles and no Hardly Ableson's !

Wouldn't say that IT looks like a seaside resort myself, more like a czech republic or hungarian hillside resort. Lovely place. THX
Love Matlock must try and visit again

Too many amusements for a small place, and how many chippies does a road have to have lol 😂
sadly peter passed on a year last march,
after his first heart attack he gave up trading In blue john and traded In coins Instead

Show the street and front of actor Timoty Dalton's house please. I love your videos
Thanks I thought your tour was very informative 😊
You’re welcome 😊

Dang that's a lot of fish 🐟 and chip 🍟 shops touring there or moving I would in 1 year try them all to see who the best lol 😆
I think I'd overdose on em 🤣
Promenade fish and chips best one I Derbyshire 👍🏼👍🏼

I didn’t - by the time I’d walked past all the fish and chip shops I was sick of the idea 🤣🤣
been a few times to Matlock and Matlock bath

I bet!
Hi Paul!! When it stopped at the bottom of your street I thought of your family
Thanks for that, I don't have to go there now.
My fave place ❤️❤️
Another great video a place I've never been just one question can you get fish and chips there 😂😂
Absolutely 🤗
Nearly every shop, is a chippy or cafe. 😀😀
Driven through here hundreds of times, It doesn’t look easy for mobility scooters near the Halls shops
True

Disregarding the constant stench of chip fat , noise pollution and traffic congestion ..smashing little place . !!
😮
Such a shame to spoil a beautiful place with arcades and all them fish and chip shops
So many fish and chip shops!
It’s lovely but I think I would like to visit a place less touristy.
I didn’t find it that bad really
Hoping to make a trip to the Azores and England in the near future🙏🏻.
