In fact I would hazard a guess that 3/4 to 7/8th's of all damage I suffer in my ships is caused by fire EVERY game. Just spam the HE and watch everything burn. Armour is utterly irrelevant.
Bro, just dont use your Repair Party unless you have atleast 2/3 fires. And run Fire Prevention -10%. That should help alot. If you get spammed (to death) then you are gonna burn but its far less likely that you'll burn if you got the Fire Prevention Skill for your Captain. Also the extra -5% catching fire you can put on it with Module helps a bit aswell. Hope this helps a bit, have a nice day regardless!
1st, 2nd and 4th shots on Des Moines weren't a cit nor a kill either, same for 1st, 2nd and 3rd shots on Mino, shots on Kurfurst @ 10:05 and 10:32, Salem @ 11:26, 15:43 and 16:05 , Richelieu @ 12:56 and 17:08, Hindy @ 13:40 and 14:04, Ognevoi @ 16:40, but ofc there were lots of beautiful shots, despite being no cit or kill, especially that Roon kill shot. Great game, great plays, kept angled to the biggest threats most of the game, well done.

GK's citadel has multiple weaknesses, namely, the lifting of the turtleback when turning in, and the conveniently designed secondary turret armour scheme which allows shells from the front to bounce on their gun shield downward, penetrating the thin deck and into the citadel. Try shooting the backward-facing secondary turrets from the front with any guns that overmatch 15mm (>214mm, e.g. Moskva) and have normal bounce angles (so no Stalingrad/Alaska/Hood), and you can get those strange citadels once in a while.
The Halsey confederate bonus is so nice he got, makes his guns go wild. I very rarely could use it to its full extent, usually the game ends soon by i get it😥
Montana has very good dispersion, with 12 shells in a salvo she has more hits on stationary or slow moving targets than a yamato, while yama is better with speedy ones. Even without lockon you could devstrike smoked and island covered cruisers. My personal best 4 salvos - 110k from one smoke. Rip an ass of mino+2desmoines division. 30+30k on a mino, than 40k devstrike on a desmoines and then chunked the 2nd for 10k.
If you have the right arc and angle, Montana’s shells can pen GK’s forward deck, and the front of the citadel is easily overmatchable by large caliber BB guns
At range, USN BBs with their higher arcs are among the only BBs in the game that get into true plunging fire, and your shells will go right through the superstructure, armored deck, and turtleback (one of the downsides to turtleback armor - your citadel is protected up close but extremely vulnerable at range) and into the citadel. When you’re closer like the shot at 9:28, you need to have the right arc and angle to pen the forward deck instead of the bow, and then you can easily overmatch the thinner citadel armor at the front.
Those citadels are not plunging fire guys... To get plunging fire you're looking at >30km shots - those in game are wayyy too close. Keep in mind in WoWS your shells first need to defeat autobounce, which means to go through the deck, your angle of fall has to be >30° (for most ships). Take NC for example. NC starts to penetrate Fuso's deck (and occasionally get citadels) after 31km. You can try this out in training room. Given Fuso's 35mm deck that means the incidence angle only just goes beyond 30° at 31km, with MK6. With MK7, realistically you're looking at >35km to get that kind of incidence angle. Range Montana with spotter shoots 33km in WoWS, so yeah. In reality it's just some modeling quirks that give GK some particular citadel vulnerabilities. Why didn't every time you shot your shells the other ship disappears so your shells go stupid only to show back up a second after they land? Why didn't your position get over run in the first 2 mins and then be tortured by a dd the rest of the game????….ooooohhhh ….. paid player....

There is, it’s the T9 USN BB in game - it used to be the t10 back in alpha and closed beta, but when Montana was added later it shifted Iowa down to t9
