Love your videos. About the scarring: scars from acne take half a year to fade away.. To speed up this proces I recommend a face gel with 5-10% glycolic acid, also known as AHA (alpha-hydroxy-acid). The scarring will fade away much sooner than half a year and takes the redness/discolouration away as well. This gel will make your skin dry and perhaps a little bit flaky, so i recommend using a nice nourishing face cream. Please note, this AHA gel makes your skin 'thinner', so it becomes very very sensitive for the sun. So, you'd surely need a sunscreen with at least SPF 50 or a sunblock. Also, a very well working home-made facial mask made out of honey and lemon juice will do the trick!

Recently binge watched your videos as I was recently told you were the make up artist for one of my friends weddings in Muskoka two summers ago! So amazing to see another Canadian abroad killing it! (Estée Lalonde is another TH-camr in the UK that's amazing) Your content is fantastic and it doesn't hurt that you're so beautiful and humble. Also love your blogs! You and Paddy are so cute and hilarious. Love your story and how you've both been so blessed. Keep up the wonderful work. Xo

The best thing for skin discoloration is lemon juice. I usually squeeze a lil into my hand and really press the juice into the scar/hyper pigmented skin and leave it over night. As a disclaimer most people say don't do this because it can burn your skin but as long as your careful it's fine and the lemon works like magic.

    Hi Elanna!
I just wanted to let you know what I have used that worked for me in lightening up my acne scars. I used to have horrible skin before I switched up my skin care routine. I have very sensitive skin as well, and seriously you need to try Rose Hip oil on your face. I always just apply it at night under my moisturizer. It's seriously a lifesaver!! After just a few weeks of using it I could see a difference. It also helped a little bit with my dark undereye circles.
Another line that you should consider is Shea Moisture. I don't know if they have it available in Ireland, but you need to try the Peace Rose Oil line from them. I have been using their oil cleanser and moisturizer. it's saved my skin!!! I swear by it. It's pretty affordable too. I hope this helps you out. :) love you girl! xoxo

You can check on City Color correct & contour palette it's only $10 and you already get cream corrector, contour & concealer. For powder products such as bronzer & blush I used LA Girl bronzer&blush palette in Glam (under $10) and ELF contour kit . The pigmentation and textures are so great yet affordable!

The fake tanner struggle is real!!! I use an old fluffy brush to apply fake tan onto my hands - I wash my hands completely with soap after I apply it to my body and then put the tanner directly onto the brush to buff onto my hands and wrists. Never had crazy hands again!

I love to layer the Benefit Stay Matte Porefessional over the Nivea Men's Post Shave Balm! My makeup lasts forever and the Benefit doesn't fill thick or hard to blend like a lot of mattifying primers do.

For the primer: Laura Mercier primer oil free for oily skin. I hate silicon based primer, and have a lot of breakouts using this. The composition of Laura Mercier is very clean: no silicon no oil ,but a lot of vitamins!

Elanna, my holy grail (!!!) primer is the 'Max Factor Facefinity All Day Primer SPF20', the white-ish one. I have sensitive and oily skin and it keeps my make up looking beautiful throughout the whole day, it doesn't irritate my skin at all and I definitely won't get as oily when I use this :) and it's quite affordable, too! :) x

I have been through acne and also get dark pigmentation left behind after spots. I've been using the Origins Dr Weil Mega Bright serum for four months (-ish) and it has really made a difference and helped to significantly fade the pigmentation left behind from acne. I've also read lots about products with a high Vitamin A content being good to help fade scars. Love you Elanna!

I love the BareMinerals Mattifying Prep Gel Primer! it's not silicone feeling at all! it just feels like a gel and I feel like it holds my makeup really well, unfortunately it doesn't fill pores! but a good middle ground one is the benefit porefessional mattifying gel! it's very smoothing and I don't produce too much oil throughout the day!

It might sound weird but after you wash your face take a ice cube and massage it around your face for a minute or so then apply tea tree oil to the scars and or breakouts. My estetician recommend it to me a couple weeks ago and it has really helped with reducing breakouts and scaring.

I feel like you and I have very similar skin and Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer works wonders for me! The best product I've used for lightening my hyper pigmentation from breakouts is the L'oreal Bright Reveal Brightening Peel Pads. I've heard they're similar to the Dr. Dennis Gross pads, just more affordable. But those really help with lightening spots leftover from blemishes.

IPL(Intense Pulse Light) is the best bang for your buck if you want results quickly. The only thing is you can't wear self tanner a week before your treatments. Also using a chemical exfoliant at night will help to get new skin cells to the surface and help with getting rid of some of the pigment from the scars.
Best to check with a medispa for further advance :) I used to work at one in Canada for 5 years ✌🏼️

I was having the exact same issues but now I'm so close to getting it all gone. I use the ultimate skin spa system, from vanity planet, and that brush worked wonders on my pigmentation! Hi Elanna! Ive been going through something similar with my skin and my dermatologist actually told me that what I thought were "scars" are actually hyper-pigmentation after the breakout has healed. I've been using the Khiels Clearly Corrective Dark spot solution and it's definitely helped. I've only used it for 2 weeks and I can already see a huge difference! Maybe try it out and see if it works for you! Xoxoxo much love from Philadelphia

Also, I find I don't need a primer if I moisturize with Murad Oil Control Mattifie before I do my makeup. I'd highly recommend it. As for any scars and dark spots, bio oil is great and vitamin C serum is a miracle worker for many other things as well.

Hi! I used to use mandarin oil when I had scars, its amazing for scars/stretchmarks (I know you don't have any, just saying its amazing for that too :-)) you just dilute it with water like putting a few drops in the bath or with coconut oil and apply daily on scars. rosehip oil is great too because its easily absorbed into the skin and seriously improves your complexion too, I buy the trilogy rosehip oil in Holland and barretts, it might even be in the cent sale, hope this helps -x-

I tend to have rather oily skin and use it on days that I know will be stressful, and I, therefore, will be sweaty^^ I was amazed at how matte my skin looked like even when I was completely stressed out and running from one place to the other. It kept my makeup in place and made me look as relaxed as I wished to be 😅 hope it works for you too, should you try it. 💜

Hi Elanna, New subscriber here. Just discovered your chanel. Lovely tutorials and personality! The only scientifically proven skin care to get rid of pigmentation and scarring out there is retinol. I do not know your age, so I would consult a doctor beforehand. The mild, over the counter products that I swear by, are Sunday Riley's Good Genes and also Luna, which you can find in Space NK. They are both mild and has to be in combination with high spf everyday! Also Strivectin has some good serums and creams. That brand can also be bought in Space NK or even online, but the staff are usually quite good at directing you to the right product for your face. Good luck :)

Your hand 😂😂😂😂 also I had issues with scarring but the la Roche posay effaclar duo got rid of nearly everything! I've used it for four years now and still love it.

For scaring I use the andalou naturals clementine + c illuminating toner, which has vitamin c and glycolic acid in it. You can buy it from the site dolphin fitness for about £7 with free shipping. It's all natural, works well and is pretty cheap. I also mix in some vitamin e and/or rose hip oil with the jojoba oil I apply to my face at night and this helps with scarring as well. I also make sure i exfoliate regularly too. Hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing your tips! Since you said that this foundation is more thick and full coverage, which lightweight foundation do you recommend for oily, sensitive, blemish prone skin? :) xx

Try Alpha H Liquid Gold, that's an amazing product for evening your skin tone and just improving the appearance of your skin in general. It also helps treat breakouts, amazing stuff! I love this foundation, mine came with a pump I am wondering why your dispenser is different? Did you buy yours from Beauty Bay? Xx
