Fear haunted Danny Gokey, singer and American Idol contestant. He feared that God would leave him and feared that God would refuse his prayers. All his life he battled with questioning if God could be trusted to remain faithful. When his wife later faced a losing battle with a congenital heart condition, all his childhood doubts came rushing back. While his worst fear became reality, he’d face the ultimate question: would he give in to his fear or give his trust to God even in death.
I am second videos never disappoint, they pick the realest people to share their story.
And it has to be that way. The average mundane person's story just will not fly.
Danny! This could not be more perfect than what I've been experiencing! I'm going through a testimony and I'm praying and working on overcoming the fear of the unknown future. There are up and down days but I've constantly been leaning on God this entire time! He is a good God we just have to be patient in times of troubles bc it's shaping us to become His world changers!
He's been through so much, and still has stucK close to God. Danny has amazing strength and amazing talent. Thank you, Danny & I Am Second for sharing his story.

Thank You Danny. Sometimes we don't get the plans of God, but He is always faithful and His plans are for our good and He is glorified. We are His children and He lives in us. Amen.
God will always take your situation and turn it around for His good! Danny, without knowing, saved a girls life with his tearful testimony on the show. That's AMAZING! God was able to take his situation and touch the heart of another person who was about to kill herself. That's just the one he heard about, who knows how many other people like that he could have touched through his story.
I lost my husband September 3, 2019. I understand wholeheartedly the pleading with God he spoke of. The darkest moment I have ever experienced. His song, Seen It Yet has been such a message of hope. The lyrics spoke and still speaks to how I feel.

Did he win? Yes. I think he did.
Since I was 13 years old I've had this back and forth battle with porn addiction. As an introverted person I hid it from so many people who genuinely cared about me. I've both loved and hated it so much. I would feel relieved from it but at the same time the pain grew from the inside out. I lost 2 people close to my life that made me open up and stop for a while but I slowly got back to it. I feel as if I made God disappointed. That one of his children would do such a horrid thing. Deep down I hated doing it more than anyone on earth. I lived in fear of telling the truth because I thought all people would see is a monster now. I'm still fighting it to this day. Watching these I Am Second videos is helping me see the truth. I'm 19 and I'm slowly finding my way through God. Because I know with God all things are possible.
I'm praying you can overcome it because I have the same issue, and I'm 46! And have been dealing with it for a good 20 plus years and you have no idea how DEPRESSING it is and how old it gets. So I'm praying for your sake you can overcome it so you don't have to live with it until MY age.

Dru Hughes Please watch Joseph Prince videos and get his books and other materials, whatever format is easiest for you to use. Joseph Prince (He is on TH-cam or JosephPrince.com) has shared many testimonies of people who have been delivered from addictions to pornography through his teaching on the Bible and the Christian life.
One testimony that comes to mind was a man who was a martial arts instructor (lots of discipline in his life) who struggled for decades with a pornography addiction and got deliverance and freedom through the Bible truths taught by Joseph Prince.
You really don’t hear those testimonies anywhere else!
God is for you not against you. God will fight this battle for you and give you the victory!

Very brave to say this. You are not a monster. You have a spirit of lust. Repent and turn your life entirely over. Pray and read the word. The Holy Spirit will take over and push that spirit of lust out. There is no room for both. As well porn will always cause problems in your relationships in your expectations of your partner as well as possibly replacing that partner with porn as you find it more satisfying than a loving healthy relationship.
To hear someone who has lost everything say that Christ is enough is so incredibly profound. I can think of the one person who I don't think I could ever bear losing, and that's the person he lost... But Christ is enough.
Letting go and letting God take control is the best thing we can ever choose. He knows what we are in need of. Amen!

I remember praying for you when you were on AI. Your story broke my heart. I got a chance to briefly meet you after your AI concert in Pittsburgh. All you contestants were so serious and not talking, but I said something that made you laugh.....your face lit up and I remember thinking God gave me that so I knew you would be ok. Isn't He awesome like that?

This is a good example of how we are to NEVER let our circumstances twist our perspective of God’s love for us. He spoke LOUDLY & CLEARLY at the cross and He said ‘I LOVE YOU’ for all eternity and NOTHING can stop His love.Bless His Holy Name🙌
I am struggling so hard. My wife passed away in December I prayed so hard over and over and over to heal my wife. Im still so angry with God after all my deployments watching my brothers die and now wife. It made me feel so alone. But I know I have to keep striving forward to honor my wife.

I love this testimony. I saw #DannyGokey in Huntington, WV a few months ago. I do wish he had included the part of the testimony that includes his latest child. That's one thing I'll always remember about the concert. God is faithful, whether we believe that or not

And that has been a difficult thing for me for a very long time because I feel like He's been so far far away from me. And yes, I am a Christian! Just sharing my realness.

The problem isn't our faith. It is what we are putting faith in. Many times we are trusting God for things He has never promised us and miss out on those things He has already given us in Christ.
Danny you have been an inspiration, and now 1O months after my husband left me for glory your words speak deep to my heart!! We prayed and had such great faith for my husband’s healing and it has been so hard to understand why he was taken at 59, which is too young. My faith and theology has been been tested but like you said where would I go if I didn’t have Jesus! There is no where else to go and I am hanging on. Trying to be still! That verse has been one of the verses I hold on to! I have loved your voice, music and testimony from day 1. Thank you for your faithfulness!!
I relate to this so much more than I can explain. I was raised being told to believe in Christ but also you must do xyz or Jesus will reject you. You can come as you are to be saved, but then you must be perfect and beg forgiveness for being a human nightly, or Jesus will reject you! I was taught to live in fear of the wrath of God not the love of his heart! The racing thoughts the life stopping fear and thoughts of rejection hung over my head, sat on my shoulders and I as a parent started to teach my beautiful children the very same thing.... I didn’t understand His word, His love, My Fathers heart... Praise the Lord most high for the transparent hearted people he placed in my path or I would not be here.

Wow! Thank you for sharing your story ... your questions, the pain. I am familiar with some of your music, but I had not heard your story. I saw the word "fear" in the title and I am automatically interested. I had to learn how to walk through fear after getting sober in 2013. I asked God why I drank like I did, and He showed me it was fear; that I was running away from fear. So I wanted to know 2 things: 1) why we fear; and 2) how to walk through fear so I can enjoy this gift called life. Surprisingly, God has been developing a Fear Ministry through me and it is the only thing that makes me excited to still be living. He has done things I did not even expect and I am curious where all this is leading. I drank because of mid-life issues, including family members being sick. Now my entire immediate family is gone, and I am the last one. God has trusted me with this position for a reason. I feel like He is testing me. Will I trust Him this time ... and I am. He has shown me too much. I am praying for Him to continue to prepare me to meet that one person, a believer, who knows their purpose, but is stuck in fear. I am praying for a movement, even a brief movement, of believers walking through fear and into purpose. As believers we can walk through our fears and live on purpose! God's continued blessings!

Wow, WOW!!!! Such an amazing and Powerful Testimony, one of my few favorite songs by Danny is "More Than You Think I Am," and "Rise." This man is truly chosen by God and is very humble. Praise God, Hallelujah!!!!
I have followed Danny since his audition on AI...and met him in his church shortly after the season ended. My mom was with me and very sick at the time...she absolutely ADORED him and when they met after the service, he ended up taking time to sit and PRAY for her! I was able to take a pic of them...she had that pic on her mantel like he was one of her children!❤️. Danny is the real deal....and such an inspiration! Read his book...so raw and beautiful!

Thank you Danny for these words. I was thinking about you being an artist and facing these fears. And I thought, maybe you don't have to worry too much about these times of anxiety. You're a Child of God. I know that sometimes, for some people, God uses their emotions to fulfill a purpose. You had to experience those hard times to write special songs for the world, I guess. It's hard when you go through this way but the Lord is faithful and he will ransom you with joy as much as you had these pains. Your songs have given me so much joy and encouragement, especially during this pandemic. We've been through this too. Don't worry too much about being sad and please, continue writing your songs during these moments too. They will help later, sure, they will. Don't worry about it. I've learnt to pray in these moments and take great victories, and order life and joy to come back and anxiety to go away. You're a precious stone in the hands of the Potter. Be blessed in the name of Jesus.

God in Christ Jesus is with you and will not leave you. That is his promise and he will not lie or break that promise, for by grace are we saved through FAITH! Faith that overcome this world. As a widow, I identify with Danny Gokey and what he went through when his wife died and afterward.
He is so transparent and teaches many lessons in his video for all of us!
The Lord taught me that He alone is sufficient. And that if you expect the Lord to bless you because your heart is open to Him and you do your best to serve him, that's not true
and pure love on your part. Its almost like business deal. Christ was betrayed. He said we would share in his sufferings. Some of us may need to go through what we perceive is a betrayal by God. Then He will see if we love him regardless of circumstances or if we are really on some level just using him and expecting our lives and our families lives to go smoothly as a result. i can tell with others whether they have learned this lesson or not.
This channel has motivated me to interview Christians about there journey to finding Christ and his healing. So far I've only done it on a personal level, but I plan to start adding videos of these interviews to my channel :)
I find the testimony of Danny Gokey very inspiring plus his songs which are so upbeat have been a lifeline for me over the past number of months and have helped to keep me going. To be able to sing such uplifting music and lift people up inspite of what he has gone through is really inspirational. He has been my go-to Artist of the year. I pray God continue to bless and inspire him to be a blessing to others and that he always stays close to the heartbeat of Jesus and in the centre of God's will for his life 🙏

I so relate to this so much it was for me the loss of both parents in 1994 just 3 months apart and then following God to leave my Corporate Career in Florida to move to Maine. I followed God into a business that I was unsure of yet he blessed me there taught me about FAITH in HIM..then destruction came again and I felt so alone defeated and God met me there and taught me about worshipping and reading His Word till you feel like it’s you in the word. It has begun to turn around he led me to start a TH-cam channel 2/21/19 and that too is hard yet I am trying to be a light in this world🤗. God is good yet life can still be hard😢

I'm so sorry you don't have that faith. I struggle daily with fear and so much more especially after the death of my precious son 19yrs old. But I want to grow closer to Jesus. He's the only one who can help us thru. And give eternal life. I hope you will give him a chance. Much love to you. 💕🙏✝

It is a long and Winding Road fraught with Peril potholes and treachery. I do wish to and hope to be able to embrace the type of peace and joy that it seems you are referring to. I've been a Christian since 1985 originally, and rededicated in 1991. Probably nobody's fault but mine

When you get a better understanding of God’s UNENDING, UNFAILING, UNCONDITIONAL love for you, the fear dissipates and has to leave.
I know from experience... but it can take some time for your heart to become fully persuaded.

I understand the lost but if I was I current wife this video would be disturbing to me. So I gave him a new life and it would have been nice to hear more about his new wife and his children out of respect
Mary Davis He talks about his wife and children all the time on his website and FB. He loves his current wife just as passionately as his he loved his first wife. He has every right to honor the memory of his first wife. It is his life story and the journey that brought him to where he is today and made him the person he is today.
