Unironically though for a moment because why the fuck not: The line does capture something almost poetic in a way about the setting. The World has ended, many times. You and I have died before, will die again. And yet, it keeps going. No final end, just new beginning.
It feels like something a mystic in the setting would say about why they don't see death as a big deal.

It’s a character POV from an animated series he’s doing. Basically a great hero named Cyrus just got done beating the God of the afterlife in a game of dominoes to earn his right to return to the mortal world. He’s flying a magical ship called a sunbird down from heaven so he can stop a group of people from using godlike power to destroy the world in a way that they and it will stop reincarnating.

dad gave me complete control when we flew once.
"wait, stop." "what's wrong?" "you almost fell into a vortex."
this nickname comes from there. i'm not a pilot myself, but i grew up with them and among beautiful vintage gliders, some of which are as bird-like as they can be. and it's one of the positive parts of my childhood that aren't too stained by the fact my father is also my abuser.
the sound of this is exactly something i would grow to absolutely adore for how easily soothing it is. Jamal and Aaron really make it all much less cold and lonely.
    -
it's interesting to me how the line "for now, the wheel keeps turning" only ever appeared once in all the different versions with vocals. a threat, but perhaps its absence means there's some hope left. or not. i'll leave it to you to thoroughly mindfuck us all with some brilliant art.

I know the contest is very dark, as the Brass Tower walks once more and it’s actually jacked into a much bigger and spookier Crystal Tower, which is actually boiling the ocean, but something about being on the sunbird gives me hope. You know, for some reason, I felt like I heard "Is" and "was" between Jamal and the Child Chorus when they reached the part of "the world was (is) drowned in seas of Red"
Which, for some reason, I thought it was symbolic for how long Cyrus has been dead and what's currently happening now. Since Cyrus was alive during Talos' reign, he must've heard the alinor massacre. Which is technically what's happening now, except the NEWmidium that the Thalmor built is doing somewhat the exact same thing trampling over Sentinel.

TES is in a weird position where there's a cabal of official writers who always push for a much stranger, deeper world, yet Bethesda as a whole (and Zenimax now) ignores 90% of it.
So there's a lot of stuff that is *totally canonical* that seems very out of place if you weren't paying attention, because attention is never called to it, and a *TON* of stuff that might be canon depending on who in Bethesda you're asking, and when.
Even with ESO now, there's, like, average in-game ESO, and the insane lore books some kook writes about how
      water = memory,
Meridia is *probably* a black hole,
and an angry Altmer mage tried to trick one reality-anchoring Tower into thinking that it was a different reality-anchoring tower by building an orrery around it out of his own skeleton. You know, so the High Elves could be hot shit again. But it didn't work because the Tower he messed with is actually dozens or hundreds of Towers doing some wacky quantum uncertainty principle shit.
The trick with TES is that magical thinking is required to make sense of anything.

TES lore is more like a fever dream with most explanations of anything TES requires you to go back to the dawn era to explain anything properly, 40k is more just horribly managed with alot of obscure lore being from books or magazines that have been out of production for over a decade and before the HH novel series the only way to know what happened was to read like several completely unrelated books that all had a small paragraph of events.

My (possibly overly optimistic) interpretation of the song is that the line from The Wheel is meant by Cyrus and co as an ironic twisting of the Thalmor's own worldview.
The Wheel is an Aunic lament: life in Lorkhan's trap is a cycle of pain and death that continues as long as the spokes hold the wheel together.
But when I hear "And yet the wheel keeps turning" in *this* song, there's almost a defiant or determined quality to it; the world is filled with seas of red (because someone turned the Alinor into a giant robot), and yet the wheel keeps turning. The Walkabout hasn't started yet. And Cyrus is going to make sure that spoke stays in place.
