I think Apartment Life is the best and saddest one because it’s the last ever song they made for the game... the song for the last expansion pack they’d ever make for The Sims 2... And we will always remember that Maxis and EA abandoned it. It’s really beautiful and sad.

The Apartment Life theme is so nostalgic. Simple and peaceful, with a hint of sorrow, as if unconsciously acknowledging the end of the series. TS2 was legendary, and replaying it again recently made me see how it's still beloved and legendary, even to this day. An eternal masterpiece.
I play mansion & gardens and honestly, I'm SICK of how you don't hear any of the others. I need a place to download all the songs and use them in a loading screen generator. Finding all the screens would be epic too.

I harbour strong nostalgia for the Open For Business theme, because unlike some of the others, it was never used in Buy/Build Mode, so after Pets finally came out, we never heard the OFB theme again.
I basically love every Sims 2 music track! From these I have to say the Open For Business and Pets bring the most nostalgia for me. (I actually heard the Pets one in the Pet Stories game, it was my first Sims game ever, though I was always puzzled how the instruction manual claimed there was an elder lifestate, but in-game it didn't exist at all there 😂).
I hate how I wasn’t able to grow up with this series. I mean, I first played TS3 in 2012 or 2013, but I was too young to even understand the Sims 2 when it came out and all my parents ever got was MySims.
I have all the expansions but before I start playing I always copy from the base game bin so that the splash screen goes back to the original, it’s so iconic
I remember getting Double Deluxe years ago (2009 maybe) and having to wait 15-20 minutes just to get into the game on my crappy Dell dimension computer with only 256 MB of RAM. Because of that reason, I hated the the celebration stuff music for the longest time. 😀

Wowwww I've never heard some of these! I guess some of them only played as loading screen themes, and since I only ever had the base game and University before getting the Ultimate Collection, they just totally passed me by. Weird to think of any TS2 tracks being new to me...

I only ever keep around Sims 4 because it's much more simplistic and basic compared to the others, so when I get home, completely exhausted or just lazy, I boot up Sims 4 and play a little because it has so little content and so many small yet good quality of life improvements (like being able to move around when eating or stuff like that, wich Sims 2 for example didn't have) and a lot of small quirks that I sometimes miss in other Sims games. Still doesn't change the fact though that this game is *SO F U C K I N G B O R I N G, M Y G O D* Sims 1 is a chore to play (doesn't mean it's not fun though! I love the original Sims!) Sims 2 is one of my all time favourite Sims games but at times it can get pretty annoying with filling up needs, and building skills takes a while because of this (Sims just straight up giving up if they're slightly in the red) Sims 3 is the most expanded Sims game I've ever played, there's just so much goddamn shit to do in it! (But whilst I do love this game, there are a lot of performance issues for me, oof) Sims 4 on the other hand is a barren and boring building simulator with zero content related to The Sims. Remember when Child/Teen Sims used to run to their parents when they got an A in school? Or when there were actual carpools, different ones for different promotion levels and/or careers. An actual Bus Driver, an actual School etc. etc. etc.
The only one I'm missing is Apartment Life. But I had Seasons for so long, I really miss hearing that one at startup. Right now I'm hearing Free Time when I log in, and I hate it. Is there a way to make it play the Seasons song when I start up other expansions? I want it back. :(

@@elimgarak7090 whichever theme you choose, go to the local disk where you've installed The Sims 2, then Program Files, EA Games, The Sims 2 Seasons (or another game), then find a folder called Res and finally find the Music or Sounds folder where you'll copy the Splash.package from. Copy it to The Sims 2 Freetime sounds folder where the FT Splash is at and replace. Then start the game and you'll have a better loading music theme. You should also backup but I'm not sure you'd want that because you'd never want the FT song back. Have fun!
@@arthurhtml it's funny you said that because the other 3 main games had it even worse - there were no rabbitholes at all. Sims just walk or are taken to somewhere you can't even see how it looks (for example - in TS1, TS2 and TS4 you only see the school bus taking the children/teenagers and almost never anything else; and in TS3 you can place a bunch of decorative or interactive objects in front of the school to make it more fun). Ambitions changed the game when it added the fire stations, salons and others, as well as expanded doctor interactions. Similar stuff was seen in some TS2 expansions, such as Nightlife and Open for Business. Also, let's not forget The Sims 3 was developed mostly in 2008 and released in mid-2009. Back then the technology wouldn't support these at all, let alone run things smoothly. And not to mention how can you manage an entire family of Sims going to these buildings? The Sims 4 could've managed optimized and more complex buildings as it was already developed when there was better technology and the game was not open world, but in the end it's The Sims 4.

Hi, there's a loading screen randomizer tool available and it can even put custom images on the loading screen, which is really nice. You just start the randomizer and it gets the job done by putting a different loading theme.

Most people have disc copies and the resources for disc based updating are most likely lost to time.
