  • We begin at Baker st on platform 1 the night before the part line closure begins.
    We are running all stations to Uxbridge on the last through train of the night. On arrival at Uxbridge, we then 'tip out' and run up to 25rd, the reception road for moves in and out the sidings. We then change ends to stable on 27rd in Uxbridge sidings.
    In the morning and for the rest of the weekend the Met line is closed from Harrow to Aldgate for ATO testing. See the other videos for some engineering work trips.

    Love the Met line

    Fascinating video. Must admit I preferred when railways had visual signals. There’s something slightly disturbing about flying through a tunnel at 40mph+ with only an algorithm to reassure you that the line ahead is clear.

      I hear you on that! Even though CBTC is safe, when it goes wrong... It goes VERY wrong.

      That's why it's a good thing there is a driver on the front when its in ATO becuase if there is any risk then we can emergency stop the train.

      I do like the incab signaling. I probably would forget what speed limit is what if i was looking for signs

    Brilliant visual there. Might be the first time I've heard an S Stock with Wheel flats to be honest.

    Will the rest of the line be equipped with ATO any time soon? Or will it remain in this half ATO half manual tripcock state?

    • @traindrivergamer4279
      @traindrivergamer4279  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      The ATO project is hugely behind schedule, there are always rumours that certain areas may stay signalled but again its all rumours. If it could stay this way i would be happy. The next section in testing for ATO is finchley road to preston road.

      @@traindrivergamer4279 Appreciate the response and your uploading of the content :)
      What is the process the moment they "push the red switch" and turn ATO on?
      Is it: Last train of the night leaves manual section for depot, engineering train comes on, covers up all the signals/disables tripcock, control room turns ATO on for the first train in the morning?

      @@Matty12333 thats kind of to do with the delay in getting the next section live. Despite being made by same company they are 2 different systems.

      @@gnnascarfan2410 pretty much yeah, the lineside signals will be bagged and turned off over night and the ato system turned on with a backup of if it goes wrong then the ato can be suspended and the lineside signals back on and running.

    How did you become a tube driver?? What is the process to it??

      I applied on tfl careers site. 1st stage was uploading a CV and filling out the application form. Next stage was an online test at home called situational judgement where you get about 10 scenarios and have 4 responses to choose from basically remember safety is no.1 no matter the situation. next stage was a series of paper tests at their test centre with the SCAAT test, fault finding and customer service questions. then final stage was an interview and also a verbal communication test where you listen to a voicemail of an incident and have to make notes and relay key details to your boss. I started on night tube then transferred to full time after around 18 months and then 1 yr after that my transfer to the Metropolitan line came through 😀😀
