Great message, one question. When getting close to the section in the song where you need/want to slap but is a short moment in the song. I may not have time to change the EQ as you demonstrate it. What is a run my signal through a EQ pedal with the EQ set to the parameters you are talking about and engage it when need to slap and disengage for finger style
I love love love the KS slap tone. Many imitators out there, but KS set the standard for that super crisp, midrange snarly, biting timbre. If you haven't already check out some KS playing gospel players. Reggie Young, Fred Hammond, Maurice Fitzgerald, Jimmy Neuble
Ken smith is over priced now. Plenty of other bass options out there for half the price as these. Sometimes even more. Bassmods and lowend being just 2 great examples
@Its_a_Grimm i agree. They have always been too expensive for my budget. I can't speak to if they are overpriced now because i haven't had my hands on one in years. But if I had the money and the reason/need to buy a high-end bass, Ken Smith, Tobias, Sadowsky, Foderea would be my preference. I am in love with their tone, esp Smith. I've played these basses in shops before but could never afford one. Bass Mods sound really good, though, I must admit, based on what ive seen on TH-cam videos. They are way more affordable and seem to be very good quality. I had a Smith Burner years ago and loved that Bass, a lower end Smith.
Gorgeous bass, nicely done.

Wow great advice bro I have a smith and what you say makes sense and I wanna apply it now when I play man thanks 🙏
That’s great! You can get a lot out of a Smith. Have fun experimenting!
