I'm a diabetic also. When you sugar gets high eat just protein. Boiled egg, avocado, is wait I eat. The protein helps bring down your numbers. Be sure not to skip meals. Also eat protein first at a meal. Small pieces of cake at the end. Lol
Good Monday. I understand the struggle with weight. In February 22, I weighed 392. I weight 212 today. The first year was very hard and lost only 50 lbs. My Dr finally talked me into one of GLP1 drugs. OMG a game changer. I am / was diabetic, RA, High BP, and various other problems.... My A1C has been below 7(6.8) for over a year. I was taking Humalin RU500, 200 units twice a day. No more shots or needles. It is hard but you will get back on track. All will get back to normal soon.
I’m all the way down to 126 now. Also down to 8 units of insulin! But don’t want to lose more. But doctor doesn’t want me to stop Mounjaro because my A1C so good. So now on the lowest dose
I can remember being snowed in for days in NJ. We just enjoyed the time with just the family. We made cookies and played board games by candle light. Our gas stove kept the kitchen warm. It was great! I’m 78 now and still laugh about the panic to grab milk bread and eggs! I loved your story,
Love your t-shirt and your beautiful yarn you made. Have a great snow day 😆 🤣 😂 I live in Georgia and I agree with you on the panic shopping drives me absolutely crazy also. It's like the sky is faking the sky is falling must buy everything 😆 🤣 😂 ❤
Jen I too struggle with my weight. I am 283 have been this weight since my husband died in 2019. Loved your video got some giggles you describe life with humour and that’s my style.
Good morning Jen, your shirt is absolutely beautiful 😍 and so are the yarns you spun up. I grew up in Texas and I can say that when it snows it does stick around sometimes for a week. I never as an adult went out buying like everyone else. I definitely didn’t get out and drive because people don’t know how to drive on ice or snow in the south. Expect one time when my daughter was 17 working at Olive Garden it snowed and the bridges were ice. I had to go get my daughter because I was afraid to let her drive. At this time I had experience driving because I lived in Indiana for 3 years and learned how to drive on ice and snow. The biggest difference is up north they have the equipment to make the roads somewhat safer. Down south not so much, when I was going over the overpass I started to slide, I seriously thought I was going to go off the bridge onto the highway below. It was scary but obviously I managed to control it. We made it home safely but it took hours when in normal conditions it would take 20-30 mins. That was the one and only time I’ve ever gotten out in the snow. Heck now days I won’t even get out if it’s raining because people don’t know how to drive when the roads are wet. LOL I hope you have a wonderful week…see you tomorrow. Hugs 🤗
Oh WOW your Tee shirt tyrned out great, it is lovely. Jen, you have accomplished more than I have, I haven't picked up a hook since Christmas Day. I just can figure out what it is I want to make, but I'll get there soon. I've been recoverying from surgery since Nov. 15 on top of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, it's been a little hectic. Now I will need to plan what I want to make for the 26 people on my Christmas list for 2025 and get busy on them. 2024 was busy I made 10 hats, a pillow, four sweaters, a doll, a couple of scarves, a shawl, ten blankets, a baby blanket, a baby dress with diaper cover and matching headband and several dish clothes (40) and scrubbies (40). I was busy in 2024. Now to see what 2025 produces♥🧶
Hi Jen! If there is snow in my part of UK everyone panics too lol 😂 It is so rare we don’t know what to do! Loving the top - rainbow gorgeousness ❤️💖🦩🌈
Good Monday Jen🤗 I love your tee, your yarn you spun is gorgeous🥰 I had a Trader Joe’s in KC. It was ok for some things, but I didn’t need anything special. Glad you got a big laugh out of it and Juju got lots of goodies. Have a wonderful week🥰❤️
Good morning. We had the panic where we are, but we did get ice instead of snow. A lot of the area has had power out overnight, and our roads are ice covered. If it was just the snow there would not be as much worry, but with the ice we have had several trees down across the roads and also knocking out power. So here the winter weather is not so nice. Would rather have had the snow.
My childhood home in Michigan had those same saloon doors and when we moved my parents out the only thing my daughter wanted were those dang doors. They have been sitting in my garage since 2017.
I live in the Seattle area and work at a grocery store. Lucky me! We the people in my area see the first snowflake they run to the store in droves. It’s so funny. People can’t/don’t plan ahead, not even a day. The stories I could tell! Anyway, we are a very hilly area. The mountains on the east coast are like the area that we live in so people can’t get around if the snow stuck but it rarely sticks! Much like where you live the snow melts in a day maybe two. People! lol!
I love your new top! I grew up in Southgate, Michigan and know all about the snow. It's kinda crazy how people go out and stock pile for a couple of inches of snow.❄️🤷🏼♀️ Wishing you a beautiful blessed day!🙏🏻💖
I know that fiber gave you trouble, but it's just GORGEOUS, Jen! I grew up in NE Ohio in the snowbelt, so we would get feet of snow when others got inches. Now I live in Georgia and it's CrAzY here. Our biggest problem is ice. I lost all my food when we lost power. It wasn't cold enough outside to put it on the back deck. We just don't have the resources here to tackle that kind of weather. But the drivers are nuts! They think if they have big SUVs, they can drive in anything. They just crash harder and cause more damage! I stay home, it's not worth it. Cu in the next! 😊👍🧶
Good Morning Jen 😊, I love your tee, beautiful colors.. When you were talking about the stink in yarn I was thinking if you could put your fiber in a zip lock bag and put some scent beads and leave it for about a couple of days to a week. It has worked for me in the past maybe it will work for you as well. Have a wonderful week and Happy Crochet!!😊😊
Absolutely love the sweater Btw, I relate to your wonderment in regards to the panic in the grocery store. I’m a Canadian now living in Kentucky for many years, and I still shake my head! Although this current storm is a doozy and not going to melt any time soon 🤷🏻♀️
I had to laugh at your discussion about snow and the South. I was born and raised in Texas and now live in Houston. One of the biggest issues regarding cold precipitation is we dont usually get 'just snow' we usually get sleet or ice either on top of whatever snow we get or its just ice and it coats everything, sometimes really thickly. There have even been cases where it snows then switches to rain and ends up being sleet. Then it all mixes and freezes! Thats when its REALLY BAD. There have been times when the rain/sleet/snow is curb deep when it freezes. That happened several years ago and we had no mail delivery even because what sanding trucks we had were on all the highways and interstates trying to keep traffic flowing. And we dont have snow plows! It lasted for over a week before anybody in the neighborhoods could get out. Down here in Houston we dont even have many sanding trucks or people to drive the ones we do have so they take the guys who drive trash trucks and put them on road crews to deal with sanding. They load pickup trucks with the sand mixture and give the guys plain shovels! Also because most school districts use buses, they close the schools because they dont want the buses on the roads. So, yes we panic! Lolol
Jenn!! That yarn you spun is gorgeous!! I totally agree with you on the spinning thoughts. The texture and scent is probably from the dying process. Try vinegar. It should do the job.
Love and understand your snow reaction, i'm from Canada and we do rush to the stores but its for storm chips hehe Gotta have snacks if the roads are closed down..LOL Maybe one day i'll be able to spin some yarn its always be of great interest to me for many years.
Look into getting your daughter a Honda. They’re super reliable & last forever. I’ve tried some of those flavor packets & they hurt my stomach so I switched to the cirkul cartridges, absolutely love them. The same thing happened to my mom while she was talking to my dad on the phone lmao! Back before I was born my mom had oil on the stove & my dad called. She laid down on the bed to talk to him & her whole kitchen went up in flames lol.
We are getting light snow right now. I live in North Jersey and I understand what you are saying completely. I do try and fill my gas tank when it snows just in case the power goes out but I don't worry about food.
Sounds like you had a busy weekend 😁 I live in northern California and we get snow for like a day maybe up to three days about every five years. I won't go out, those people out there don't know how to drive when it rains let along in the snow!! Scary! 🤣😂🤣😂 We always have things like canned chili or refried beans, soup and noodles and rice. We always have ingredients like flour, sugar, and such for making bread if we need it or cup cakes LOL Then we replenish if needed. Your top is very pretty! And the yarn you made is so cool. I am glad you were able to spin some, it seems to calm you I think. Much love to all of you. Go see the chiropractor soon. See you tomorrow!
Up here in Central NY we got 5 days of snow. But, I remember when my daughter lived in NC how everything shut down when it snowed 2” and I always laughed when I used to visit her. FYI I love Trader Joe’s.
On the lego front there is an app that scans the logo pile and then directions to put the parts together it also tells you where approximately the piece is in the spread. So you can buy a bag of odds and make lots of different things like you would with the booklets. Just a cheaper way of picking up a bag of bricks and still make things so garage sales thrift stores with bags of the bricks become lego sets but it's all random
Good morning Jennifer, hope you are good this morning. Want to say the sweater you have on is darn gorgeous. You are so talented. I never learned how to crochet a garment except a hat. I live in south Ga and we do not get snow here. One thing I read on here was a lady said her son moved to ga and they close the state.. lol. It is true sad to say, but we just want to have some snow. I used to live in northern states and got a lot of snow. I have gotten older 68 now I do not want to deal with a lot of snow. lol. Sorry this is so long. Have a wonderful day.
Always the run on eggs, bread & milk. I’m convinced everyone lives on French toast in bad weather. American equator is perfect. I missed one day of school from kindergarten to end of college for weather. I live in MN
OMG, I made hamburger helper today before I even saw your video 😂 I make it with ground turkey. I love it. So glad you got a Trader Joe’s, we love that store. They have stuff you can’t find anywhere. I love your sweater, the orange is beautiful.
I get it Jennifer. I am from New Hampshire, and I now live in very southern Md. Live south of the mason Dixon line and life is different here.snow is snow, it is slippery, but once the sun comes out, the roads will be fine and life will go on. The stores here were more crowded here on Sunday than the day before Christmas. I'm glad we did not need anything at the store.
Jen I live now in NC but I’m from Philly and it amazing how people freak when they hear bad weather! I agree keep a little stock pile and a small button grill or charcoal grill to cook on. I love your sweater or tea shirt.
Hey Jen Your Tee is Pretty!! Yea I don't understand why everyone freaks out when it snows, It's January people, it snows in Jan. it always has and always will, this is not a surprise; Feb, same thing! They will have the roads passable in a couple days max! Calm down! LOL People are scarred to death that they will be inconvenienced, which I get is no one wants to be, but will you not make it if you are, of course not! Just hunker down and get comfy, you'll get by, it'll be a day or two then things will start to get right back to normal LOL . Have a good day dear! Love Hugs and Prayers!
Your new tee shirt is really pretty. I don’t have a trader Joe near me. They just recently put an aldi in down the street from me. It’s a nice small store. I like that. Because it don’t have all that junk in it like the big box stores.
Hi, I have lived up north in several snowy states. And, I don't even want to drive when it rains. I hope I never have to drive in the snow. People don't drive well in NC when it's sunny and dry. 😮 Our area averages 200 accidents a month. Scary. Be safe. Stay safe and warm. 😇
Try freezing the yarn fold it loosely so you don't get big clumps. Leave it for a week or 2. When you take it out of the freezer try separating the yarn again as it defrost. Should work then if not use fairy washing up liquid and let it soak. Rinse it avoiding clumps that does the trick xxx
Hi Jen just want to put my 2 cents in I was raised in Tennessee an one winter the snow blocked the door an my mom a dad put us kids out the window ! of course we had to use the out house after my dad had cleared it! Also we had snow cream mmmm!Of course I’m 74😀😀😀😀
❤Jen❤ I completely agree with you on the panic buying. I live in very south louisiana, 10 miles from gulf and omg it's horrid when there is a hurricane! If people would just keep ready all the time, it would not necessitate the panic! You should see the gas stations prior to storms here....jeez. (insert eyeroll) Your sweater is absolutely gorgeous! Great job!❤❤
Good morning Jen, beautiful top. Love the color combination. I totally get it. My son moved from the north to Georgia, and he said that their first snow was flurries and closed the state down 😂
Juju might like a Kia Soul. They are easy to see out of and are in the lower end of cost. I grew up in Virginia (just outside Culpeper) and I don't understand panic food buting before bad weather. My mom always kept a pantry fulled stocked. If we wanted bread we baked a loaf. If we run out of an ingredient my mom sent one of her 4 kids across the road to our Aunt.
As a gal that raised in TX, I get what you are saying about Southerners and snow. I laughed about it. It is the same thing in my part of TX when a hurricane is approaching. I always rushed to the store and bought bread and SPAM. I never eat SPAM but it seemed like an item I needed!!! LOL
Good morning Jen 🌈. Love, love your tee. Here in Illinois I see the same thing..my daughter works at Jewel and I hear all the stuff.. 😆 people are so funny. You have a great day 💜
Where I live we have or it snows 9 months out of 12, well pretty close, but even if we get a skiff of snow everyone runs to the store, the thing is we only have one store, unless you wanna travel 35- 40 miles to the next town to do your shopping. Best time to stay home and enjoy peacefulness, is when it snows. People are crazy at times, seriously. I Love your new top, Gorgeous 💕 and the yarn, Holy Cow how Pretty! Take Care, Blessings 💕
Decluttering today, yarn, soap making & candle supplies which are taking up space, which I haven’t used in over 2 years…off to the thrift store. I feel lighter of heart already. 🧶🕯❄️
The snow reaction made me laugh so hard. I was born in Switserland, and now live in Belgium. In Switserland, people don’t get scared at snow covered roads. In Belgium, if you have three show flakes coming down people start to panic. They won’t start hoarding, but they are definitely going to be panicking about road conditions. When I got my driver’s license, even though I was already living in Belgium but I took an extra course on driving under extreme conditions. Wind, ice, aquaplaning, low visibility, snow, you name it. I learned to lay off my brakes and to deal with what in essence is something I’ve been familiar with since early childhood. Now Belgians in general… as soon as the first snowflakes appear, they’ll know only one thing: brake, brake brake. Forget steering. Forget driving your manual gear shifted car one shift higher than you’d usually do to keep your rpm low. Forget looking at where you beed to go instead of looking at your obstacle. Forget any semblance of common sense. Hug your predecessor’s bumper and stand on those brakes like it’s going out of fashion. Turn the road into what essentially is the love child of a massive happy slip ‘n slide and a skating rink on acid. The danger isn’t the snow. The danger is the massive amount of headless chickens behind the wheel. But if you keep your distance and keep your cool, snowy roads are fine. Your yarns are GORGEOUS! I’m so sorry the purple roving turned out to be a dud. I checked around and it seems to me the lanolin possibly hardened and went through a process akin to polymerisation. Fats when partially polymerised go sticky. Add a bit of musty mould to it and you’ve got a smelly mess. If you can’t get the stickiness out of it, it’s not worth spinning. Fighting all the way through spinning and plying isn’t worth the yarn you get out of it. And that last skein, from the high end halloween coloured fibre is beautiful. Never mind the curly bits. 😊
I live in West Virginia and yes, everybody panic buys and it drives me up a wall. I was raising a form so we had all the staples milk we made our own bread had canned goods cause we canned. So as an adult I always stay prepared. But I understand what you’re talking about. your sweater is absolutely beautiful. Great job. I love the Halloween yarn. That’s what I’m calling it ,beautiful. Hope you’re having a great day.❤
Hi Jen❤️🙏. I just wanted to say that I’m born and raised in Cleveland Ohio and have dealt with snow storms my whole life up to 2007 when mom and I moved to Florida. I’ve always learned that the South don’t know how to handle snowstorms or even some snow and don’t have the means of taking care of it too and also when there is iced roads too which I feel is understandably understanding. One year there was an ice storm and my mom and Aunt were going bqck to Ohio from Florida and they had to stay at a Hotel for the night and the next day when they were traveling back to Ohio there were roads closed and alot of ice on the roads too. No, people don’t know how to deal with snow and ice and don’t know how to drive in it either but however, if it was a total snowstorm, would you get in your car and drive in it or have Mr. Cinnamon drive in it? People do need to stock up to be prepared “in case” they do end up getting stuck in their homes. Yes also, people do act dingy with the snow and act like it’s some foreign substance falling from the sky and people just need to be careful too when out. If people don’t need to get out, then don’t. I’m just glad I live in Florida even though we will be freezing starting tonight. I truly don’t like cold weather too. Love your work and I do hope you have a blessed night and love to you and your family too. Sue M. Clearwater, Florida 🙏🥰😘❤️🌴😎🥶❌⭕️
Sorry for the second comment but I mentioned yesterday I was on Mounjaro and it keeps my sugar. Perfect. I just had a bowl full of Froot Loops and my sugar is only 160. Just saying I love this stuff not to mention I’m still losing weight.
I don’t have a trader Joe near me. They just recently put an aldi in down the street from me. It’s a nice small store. I like that. Because it don’t have all that junk in it like the big box stores.
Hi Jenn, maybe its a grease, like when you get the dirty tackiness on kitchen items from cooking mainly with grease. try a degreaser maybe on the yarn.
Hi Jennifer. The stores/people here in FL get crazy during hurricane season too. Guess it happens everywhere. Just love your shirt. Still love your hsir color too. I don't dye my hair as most dyes make my hair itch (I have celiac so maybe thats why?). Ill have to check Aldis here again. Last time I went there they didnt have a good GF option. Take care. 😊
Good morning Jen I love the short sleeve sweater you made!! Also don't feel bad about hating the panic purchasing , I've lived in Louisiana all my life and it rarely gets bad snow or cold but I too absolutely hate how everyone unneededly panic buys everything😅
Good morning, Jen. I live in Corpus Christi, Texas which is on the gulf coast. People here panic buy the stupidest things when a hurricane is brewing in the gulf. They do the same if the temperature is forecasted to dip below 50°. I have lived in Denver, the Detroit area, northern Indiana and Idaho. Freezing cold and snow are just not a thing. My biggest concern about the possibility of snow and/or ice is the fact that these fools don't know how to drive in it. Lol😂 My household stays prepared for weather issues so that we don't have to deal with the crazy.
The company Aldi was founded in Germany by the brothers Albrecht and after a dispute they divided the company in Aldi Süd (south) for South Germany and Aldi Nord (north) for North Germany. They have a different stock. Trader Joes is basically Aldi North. And the A in Aldi is pronounced like the A in America 😊 Hope that wasn't too boring 😂
Trader Joe's, gluten free bread, muffins is great. Their bread is the best. Semi large and bread is soft. My daughter loves it. I wish ours had a web site that you could order from. I usually make gluten and dairy free cookies since most of the gluten and dairy free ones are really expensive.
Happy snow day!❄☃I live in MIssouri and people have acted like that here. It's the Snow-pocoalypse! All the eggs, milk, yogurt, cheese, soup....plus more. It's like the roads will never be scrapped or the sun won't shine and melt the snow ever again. 🙄🤪😆 We get snow here almost every year and it's the same reaction every time. It doesn't make sense. We've all dealt with ice and snow all of our lives but the panic shopping is kind of embarrassing. I agree. Surely a little prepping for bad weather would be a good idea, rather than panicking.
I think that you might want to look into one of the new “fire blanket” you’re supposed to be able to throw it on a small fire. Not shaming you @ all, been there, done that with cooking!
I'm a diabetic also. When you sugar gets high eat just protein. Boiled egg, avocado, is wait I eat. The protein helps bring down your numbers. Be sure not to skip meals.
Also eat protein first at a meal. Small pieces of cake at the end. Lol

I love the top, even the orange stripe on the bottom. It looks perfectly random and yet artfully placed (if that makes sense). Gorgeous work! ❤️

Your new top is so colorful and absolutely stunning. I’m looking forward to seeing what goodies you found at scrap RVA.

Love your new sweater tee it’s beautiful. I live in New York State and when we get snowflakes people panic buy drives me crazy.
😅😅😅😅Power just came on....good to see you. Love your tee-shirt. I have to make that for sure!❤❤❤
We are getting light snow right now. I live in North Jersey and I understand what you are saying completely. I do try and fill my gas tank when it snows just in case the power goes out but I don't worry about food.
All the yarns you spun are beautiful!!!
I am from Quebec , your snow story is so funny 😅 imagine if we were to panic buy everytime it snows 😂
Confession time still love helper helper ( i put pees and corn and mushrooms in ours) my mom's pepper steak was ick too. ❤
Happy Monday! So love your sweater! The colours and shades are so beautiful.
I love this channel!! ♥️
I am in Texas we don’t have the snow plows they do up north and people down here don’t know how to drive in the mess!!
We dont have the proper equipment either. And no one knows how tod rive on dry pavement, let alonr in weather
Up here in Central NY we got 5 days of snow. But, I remember when my daughter lived in NC how everything shut down when it snowed 2” and I always laughed when I used to visit her. FYI I love Trader Joe’s.
The Virginia snow panic is left over from the blizzard in the late 70 or early 80s. They never got over it.
Your yarn is beautiful! Te aqua pops. So much work for stinky beauties. The multi color skien is lovely.
Your sweater is beautiful!!
My mom made beef stroganoff completely from scratch with cubed beef! So yummy!! Haven't had it in years...
Beautiful sweater! 💐💐💐
Hi jen, youre shirt is so cool and the yarn to ❤❤❤❤
Your top is very pretty. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Your sweater is gorgeous ❤
Always the run on eggs, bread & milk. I’m convinced everyone lives on French toast in bad weather. American equator is perfect. I missed one day of school from kindergarten to end of college for weather. I live in MN
When we visit son and grandkids in Fargo this year, we’re going to go look at Aldi’s
That sweater is beautiful. I love the colors ❤
Your sweater is so pretty and your spun yarn is lovely too. Stay safe in the “ bad” weather. Lol. 🧶🙏🏻💜
Grand Rising. Love waking up to an early video from you!
I live in Northern West Michigan. It’s just a normal day here with snow ⛄️ but it is REALLY COLD 🥶 we just keep moving along.
I live in SC, was raised in MS. Panic 14:47 buying is still funny to me.
Good morning Jen, beautiful top. Love the color combination. I totally get it. My son moved from the north to Georgia, and he said that their first snow was flurries and closed the state down 😂
Have a great day ❤
Hi Jennifer, I see your sweater love purple, I totally wanna see your full sweater
You have a great day 💜
Jennifer I love your sweater t-shirt beautiful
Where I live we have or it snows 9 months out of 12, well pretty close, but even if we get a skiff of snow everyone runs to the store, the thing is we only have one store, unless you wanna travel 35- 40 miles to the next town to do your shopping. Best time to stay home and enjoy peacefulness, is when it snows. People are crazy at times, seriously.
I Love your new top, Gorgeous 💕 and the yarn, Holy Cow how Pretty!
Take Care, Blessings 💕
Good morning, Jennifer! I love your top!
Hope you’re having a great day.❤
Hi Jennifer it that way where I live in Pa.too. They all rush out and buy all the milk and bread here too.
You guys are getting a blizzard!!! I'm jealous
We live in northern MD, 15 miles from the mason dixon line. This snow isn’t turning out to be much. I know what you’re talking about!
Lovely top!!❤😊
Hi Jenn, maybe its a grease, like when you get the dirty tackiness on kitchen items from cooking mainly with grease. try a degreaser maybe on the yarn.
Hi Jennifer. The stores/people here in FL get crazy during hurricane season too. Guess it happens everywhere.
Just love your shirt. Still love your hsir color too. I don't dye my hair as most dyes make my hair itch (I have celiac so maybe thats why?).
Ill have to check Aldis here again. Last time I went there they didnt have a good GF option.
Take care. 😊
Good morning Jen ❤
Good morning!
And the A in Aldi is pronounced like the A in America 😊
Hope that wasn't too boring 😂
I watched a 2 hour documentary on this. Very fascinating
I’m an Idaho girl and Idaho also touches Canada. We ski ⛷️
Even in New England a snow flake means you gotta go get bread and milk 😂
Trader Joe's, gluten free bread, muffins is great. Their bread is the best. Semi large and bread is soft. My daughter loves it. I wish ours had a web site that you could order from. I usually make gluten and dairy free cookies since most of the gluten and dairy free ones are really expensive.
Their muffins and bagels are my favorite
Sounds like my house a few years back 😂
