Nice walkthrough. I have one of these, and it's the best sounding sampler I have ever used. Super inspiring to use too. Get so many ideas using this. Desert island gear.
HattoriAkira thank you for the walkthrough this was very educational it would be nice to see more of these examples. I'm looking forward to applying these ideas to my toraiz keep them coming!
Thank you for this video, looks like a pretty intuitive machine. Just waiting for mine to be delivered. :) Glad to see ducking present, that's what I miss on my current Octatrack.
I just can't make up my mind . Pioneer Toraiz SP16 or MPC One.... The layout/modulation/workflow seems smoother with the SP16. I probably keep comparing these 2 maschines for the upcomming monthe before I hopefully can decide what hardware to purchase 📟
I nice finger playing on part right around 6:00 to 8:00. Hey I was wondering...I am doing a live performance with recording audience responses on my MPC Live and then chopping them up on the MPC and playing them back along with my DJ set. Is this possible on the Toraiz SP16?
Your camera might allow you to shoot at different frame rates which may solve the flickering pads. Great tutorial, keep the Toraiz videos coming. I just brought one. Lots of fun. :)
Thank you for your advice Jody, very helpful. I'll change my camera which can set frame rates manually. I feel like it will go well. And congratulations getting one, let's have fun!
Of course. You can program individual notes to each step by pressing the step key. For details, please refer to the point 8.4 in page 31 the following manual. docs.pioneerdj.com/Manuals/TORAIZ_SP_16_TORAIZ_SP_16_addendum_Firmware_Ver13_Operating_Instructions_EN_addendum/?_ga=2.20454904.1394745182.1505029615-441966345.1428644197
Thanks Kriss-san! And welcome to the TORAIZ world. I'm still in training like a ninja, I'll upload the next tutorial/performance in a few weeks. I hope to be like Hattori Hanso steel someday!
Little help- I can't change the BPM on my Toraiz, it is just greyed out, the only option is to adjust the swing parameter. And it is set to MIDI in the machine midi sync settings ( NOT Pro DJ Link ) Any help greatly appreciated!
Why don’t you confirm the status of your MIDI device? I guess the TORAIZ’s clock is MIDI slave mode, so you should send external MIDI clock via 5pin DIN or USB.
Unfortunately it's not possible but step modulation is available instead. You can set several parameters by each step. I will show you in the next video.

My pleasure. I'll try to make other video about tips&tricks.
That would be great! You seem to have a better understanding of the Toraiz then the reps. lol
@@mojodrum3215 Better than anybody I've seen! Maybe a video on the latest live sampling?
This was a great walkthrough, great job!!!
Thanks fdossa 1, the SP-16 is very simple but deep.
did not know about the .scn > .zip tip. thank you sir

Shadefury yes it's a great piece of gear , so many people are sleeping on this product
This was awesome - finally found out how to send individual tracks to the DSI analog filter!
Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
your workflow on the toriaz would make a great video, goodwork
Thanks, I'm digging the toraiz still more.
私はDJではないのですが、面白そうなので手に入れました!

Thanks for clarifying the new features. This is a good tutorial!1
I see you got 1 thumbs down. I cant imagine a good reason. Here is a thumbs up!
You're welcome. I'll try to devise the quality of shooting at the next.

what did you get?
Torais SP16 , its easyness to create a track is mindblowing. FX I can add and tweak in Ableton 🤙
@@rdsamsterdam6430 thank you!

fantastic video, thank you!
My pleasure. I'll keep studying.
Thanks! very helpful
I appreciate your kind remark. Definitely I have to buy a new camera for avoiding the flicker of Pad LEDs.

Hello, tanks for the video. How many synthesizers or VST this samples can control?
Good work again... Just two videos of toraiz?
More! they cried. MORE!
Enjoyed the video. Can you step sequence individual notes while in the Scale mode in order to create melodies? Thank you.
Of course. You can program individual notes to each step by pressing the step key. For details, please refer to the point 8.4 in page 31 the following manual.

One more question, can you assign at least three notes to one button to sequence a chord when in the Scale mode? Thanks again.
HattoriAkira - Will you be doing a walkthrough for 1.4 ?
Thanks for the comment. Yes, now I'm a little bit busy but I will shoot it by the end of this year.
Cool beats!!
On the strength of your video alone - I'll be getting one. How's the mastery coming along? You must be like Hattori Hanso steel now Akira-san

You're controlling program changes on the Aurturia VST?

THX :-) Great Work
parameter automation is possible??
Unfortunately it's not possible but step modulation is available instead.
You can set several parameters by each step.
I will show you in the next video.
Then can you do the step modulation for dave smith filter for each tracks??
No, because it's a completely analog filter.
alright. thanks. I'm not giving them $1500.
yes. you can deeply program each drum pad.
Do u think this machine is better than the mpc to make edm music
It depends. This machine would give you many ideas.
Akira ?
The filter sounds ungodly.
nice hands...
too bad they didn't make this battery powered
