I make 7 psi in the summer and 9 in winter. So in the summer I use a controller to bring it up to 9.

Dude being new to all this stuff , does it override the adjustable bar to waste gate ? so you don't have to struggling trying to adjust it ? cheers in advance 😁😁👍👍

Thanks for your question. A manual boost controller will give you control over when the wastegate opens, and that gives you control of how much boost you are running.
Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!

so basically if I'm taking it to a tuner, they are setting it and I never touch the thing the manual controller will be just fine for me because I'm using my car as a daily driver not a track car?

Thanks for your question. What I would say is that if you are tuned to a maximum boost psi, with the manual controller, you want to make sure that you are never going over the amount of boost you are tuned for.
So if you are tuned up to 17 psi, you don't ever want to exceed that. And with a manual controller, that will likely mean that through the course of the year and the seasons, you will have to make some small adjustments to maintain that max boost level.
Hope that helps and Stay Tuned!

Is there any electronic boost controller for diesel turbos? I couldn't find any so I went for a turbo smart manual one for my landcruiser V8.

How much boost can the stock boost solenoid hold?

Thanks for your question. That depends a lot on the turbo, etc. Usually you can get up to 18 psi or so without messing with the restrictor pill. It really depends a lot on the turbo, wastegate spring, and what your target is.

I ran 2 sewing pin holes through my ref line to the solenoid and stabbed it again on the gate hose.. Now the car is making good power. LOL.. I had to do it the gate was cracking open to soon.. My boost cut is set at 17 and every time I am in the middle of a good pull I hit cut, I needed 18/19 and that's what I got.. I have seen guys put T's in or drill into their lines.. I figured a couple pin holes wouldn't kill her and I was right.. Anyway I am more worried about braking my CVT than my motor.. LOL.. SMH, I bought the car 8 years ago used before I even knew what a CVT was, So don't hold it against me.. But I've made the most out it and took care with it, with heavy maintenance over the years..
