Why military rule is an economic failure :
The central bank of Egypt had $10 billion deposit each from Saudi Arabia and UAE. There is another $4 billion deposit from Qatar and $2 billion from Kuwait to help this Israel neighbor. The 10 year rule by Ex General now President El-Sisi did not bring economic growth to Egypt. In Feb 2024 UAE bought Egyption tourist land using this deposit and this month Saudi Arabia has offered to buy another tourist land with its deposit. Military dictatorships like Egypt, Myanmar, North Korea all show economies in collapsed state after years of military dictatorship. Any country run without laws by Rule of Fear can never succeed. Yet Pakistan is still planning the same failed method to get investments and business growth.

In Pakistan, the army calls all the shots, so is it the backing of the chief of army staff that has made the current government of Pakistan treat supreme court orders with absolute disdain and shabbily?
There is absolutely no doubt about that, Pakistan army specialises in breaking institutions and political parties and anyone who says otherwise is deluded.
Current disappearances and political victimisation is nothing new. This is what they did in 1971 that lead to Bangladesh's independence. They have not learnt much from that debacle. Forget the politics, do you see anywhere in the world officers get full salary pension, free vehicles, bungalow and servants until their death. US is a superpower and you do not get that.
Our military will meddle in politics to keep their inflated benefits protected whilst citizens of the country starve to lack of economic development. I do not give a damn about any politician or political party but I will say this do not get all sentimental about Pakistan army and generals tears, they are crocodile tears. Our martyrs were brave and soldiers generally are, they are absolute valiant warriors but officer core is corrupt beyond belief and deserves kick in the teeth if country is to survive.…………
