I really hope this mod's success captures capcoms attention, there is still an audience for this, maybe more now than ever before.
Dont think so. The problem with these games is that a majority does not infact like it. It is a pain to make and integrate and it will cost them extra money and time. These types of things are perfectly fine as mods, and if people really enjoy it pay the mod developers and encourage them to make more mods like these, and better coded mods

The future perfect RE games should let you choose from these perspectives: 3rd person, 1st person, fixed cam, and VR.
There's something so menacing about not being able to turn in exactly the way you want or be able to easily pan and scan a whole room for threats. You can get caught on a corner or fail to find an exit from the room and get swarmed.
Yep! One of the many reasons the fixed camera worked so well. I loved when you could hear the sound of the zombies in a room, but the camera would only ever cut when you got quite close to where they were. Masterfully made games.

Yes and no. The modder did a great job. But if the game was build for this, then the backgrounds would have been more detailed to make fixed camera better. Like how in Re1 they got a room that strats starring at the playable character.

Lately been a lot of talk about a Fixed Camera in RE 2 remake and it's gaining momentum! I am glad to see this! They should have made Fixed Camera right from the beginning.
capcom actually considered using fixed camera angles for re2r but dropped the idea
I do think that was the correct play, because those camera angles, while charming, can be janky in many situations. I'm glad we still have the option to play RE2R with fixed angles using the mod, though.

@jays.6843 I'm not talking about the graphics, they cut the clock tower (which was literally in the first piece of promotional material released for the game)
They cut the park section
They cut the choices you can make when fighting nemesis
And the game is 4 hours long

Aside from a few small issues with the tank controls (especially when running, almost got bit like 4 times in a row cos of it haha) this mod is fantastic. The modding community for re2r continues to amaze me. Interested in trying it combined with the randomizer. Ps such a cool addition to add the shining items!
May be I don't love fixed camera angles as much as everyone else. But the mod itself does showcase how sweet the RE engine is. You appreciate how faithful the remake is to the OG.

Bnus information: laid on sofa and i heard voice ask me, you know whats law of the oak tree, and said, when you cut a tree, plant another one, i had an idea like plant an appletree then let it grow for a bit and then on all 4 sides or more berry bushes under it, can also maybe plant mushrooms underneath the bushes and herbs, seen someone plant mushrooms

Capcom is really leaving money on the table imo. If they remade the outbreak games, classic tank controls, quick multiplayer or singleplayer stories, they'd make money from it. Although maybe that's just my nostalgia for classic RE. I love the new RE canon and think the remakes +7 and 8 are great, but I think there's a market for classic RE style games still
Honestly, them just refusing to rerelease the old trilogy with perhaps better resolution backgrounds is a missed opportunity. A lot of people would buy them in a hearbeat, and it can't be that much work either given that Konami(lol) managed to do it with Metal Gear.

Control issues aside....there is something to be said for fixed camera; it gives the game devs more control over your experience, makes it more filmic. Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing is ultimately up to personal taste.
Bawk is absolutely right about this mod being profitable DLC. I mean hell, the OG soundtrack was five bucks on REmake....I bought it. Have a polished fixed camera version....charge 10, even 15 bucks for it? Take my money.

This took a lot of work to make, the modder had to find the optimum angles to not make it horrible to play.
You see this Capcom THIS is what I as a resident evil fan wanted. Give RE2 and Re3 the RE 1 remake treatment. That's all I wanted. If I could play this mode on ps5 I would reinstall it.
I think RE3 Remake would be better with a fixed camera especially with Nemesis.

The mod said it supports D-PAD tank controls but I can only use the analog with simply does not work for tank controls. So how do you get the D-PAD to work? And I’m also not getting any sound.. Can anyone help with this??

This is the RE2 Remake we truly wanted. It's a true RE1 Remake sequel.
please dont go off on me or be mad lmao but just pointing this out, could Capcom have made something like this ? sure they have the resourcess, like they did with the 3rd person with Village BUT you gotta see it from their side , not that i agree with it, again their side if pouring a lot of time and resources in balancing damage aiming, even boss mechanics play testing and more to a point they feel is somehing worth of releasing alonside the normal version, and as cool as it would be for fans, from their point if the time and resources poured doesn't equal more sales or if they feel their sale pretty much the same amount without the extra investement they wouldn't do it, or maybe it just wasnt part of the original vision and that's it, also they most likely like any company that develops software let alone games, they surely have most everything planout from the get go from start to end , with some minor stuff changes along the way, to then move along to the next project and leave behind only if necesary a smaller team working on fixes or updates post -last DLC or big update or whatever

Not sure if anyone has asked this question, but What if there was a Resident Evil 4 Remake with FIXED CAMERA?
i love fixed cameras in games. but objectively speaking for RE4R, it simply wouldn't work. it is just too much of an action game, with most mechanics being centered around 3rd and 1st person views, it would be FRUSTRATING to play it like that.

Haven’t they patched some creativity in the past that had a great headway of popularity before? I hope they consider this but this offering has been out for such a long time that capcom might not even consider providing this as a DLC this far out in the game’s life/release

It’s crazy seeing Bawk play a weird version of Tank Controls.
Because he basically lives off speedrunning the original RE games, his movement there looks too natural.
Because this is both a new experience and a mod, it’s funny seeing him lose some of that control.

Honestly Im going to get flamed for this but I dont think fixed camera angles are good in the slightest. I feel they are by far the worst way to design a horror game and only exist as a product of its time due to hardware limitations
