- I am producing this video series with my co-instructor, Myla Sunshine, who is a beautiful girl who has low tone and Down syndrome. She lives 250 miles from my house. Her parents were nice enough to allow me, a perfect stranger, to come in and share their daughter with the world. Thank you, again. My name is Amy Sturkey. I am a pediatric physical therapist from the United States. I hope to follow Myla as she develops. I hope to teach ideas to help her learn to move, crawl, sit and walk. I started this video series after questions came in from all over the world from people seeking assistance in helping children with low tone. The ideas I teach in this video are not appropriate for a much weaker child than the one featured in this video. I hope you find this idea useful and simple. You can start physical therapy with a pediatric specialist now
my boy is same as myla he just start take 3 4 steps in his own but he cant stand himself not even sit he needs support to sit he is 2.5 year old..
Sounds like many of the earlier videos might be helpful for you. I think it is important to get the earlier skills. The trunk control to sit is critical

Hi my son having hypotonia lose muscle tone he is now 2years old and his x-ray and MRI scan came normal
X-rays and MRI's often come back normal on children with low tone. I hope these videos showing Myla over time are helpful for you.

Hello ma'am.. My baby too has the same problem she is 20 months old now but still can't stand or walk on her own. She was born at 8 months and might be she too is a low tone baby, can I make her do the same exercises as you have shown in your videos?? Or do I consult a PT here in my place??
If you have the option, it is always best to consult with a local pediatric physical therapist. I did follow Myla over time providing exercises to help her. I do not know that these exercises will be what your child needs. Many people tell me the exercises I have done with Myla has helped their child.
