what you just witnessed is the funeral of an "artist" named J Balvin, who foolishly entered a beef with one of the best and most real pens on the circuit. I wish you could have more context and understand Spanish to appreciate the savagery that Rene (resident) did, but your reaction was very good, you understood the concept, that is appreciated, I am your follower, when you can, more reactions from the resident, please

This is a pretty accurate translation I made of the lyrics, so enjoy)
[Chapter One: In a place of La Mancha]
I'm a little bit uneasy while I keep watch on the Urban genre, rearing the sight like a crocodile in the Nile River, settling a couple pending scores before Milo comes...
Sitting on a chair under an umbrella, wearing a tank, with the dog BITING my shoes, burping tortillas with butter toasts, aiming at the horizon with an unscoped rifle.
While I talk to myself like Don Quixote, with beer foam in the mustache, waiting for these hotdogs to exit the cabin like an outbreak, before their boat sinks, but as always the sh!t breaks out, I'm ready to hit these suckers until my shell runs empty.
Today I pull down their marketing on a go, like we pulled down the statues of Christopher Colombus.
I break these junks, like a rocker in the 80's breaking his guitar. With the Resi' you crap yourself. Even my verses became alcoholic... because there're too many bars!
I come from the heat, from Trujillo (PR), the drums on the streets sound: "RU-PUM-PUM-PUM!"
There's no discussion! Even my brother Don (Omar), knows that in the rap, there's only one King Kong!
Sending fire! This is Wild Lion, there's no kidding. Like in the days of (Julio) Voltio with Tego (Calderon).
You and I are not the same. I don't believe in the stars of the digital platforms, nor your billboards of cake cream, nor you Instagram stories about D&G and Cartier. I only believe in my level, and the carbon of my pencil... running over the paper!
    [Hook]
    I do this...
    To have fun
    To have fun
    To have fun
    Since I'm leaving right now...
I'm taking a couple ones before I leave.
[Chapter Two: My lyrics are my weapons]
Today I bang the industry of fame, until breaking the bed springs. When my wording spills I bang them without pajamas, vertical and horizontal, like in a crossword puzzle.
In the dissings... I'm the terror of terrors from this era, for these losers, the springtimes are no longer multicolor... because where I throw a punchline, the flowers stop growing!
They're fifth-rate artists who write less, than a pen without ink. When they see me, decompose themselves pale white color... like the fake teeth they put in.
When the cap with the [R] comes close to the entire stage, there starts to smell like a peasant farm because these fake rappers become hens with my rhyme, when I impose discipline like in China, my retina only sees heads rolling downhill, the French Revolution with the guillotine. Burning showcases, I go all in, going over, with a bottle, a towel and gasoline, like in Palestine. I do it easy like peeling tangerine, comfortable like a seat when reclines. I'm (Carlos) Correa, (Javy) Baez and (Francisco) Lindor, routine Double-Play. This is not through Instagram... THIS IS SOLVED IN THE BOOTH!
I kill them tying my right and left hands, singing kid songs jumping the rope. There's no break that I lose. If I put them all into a blender, I get a SH!TSHAKE!
Fo' 2 minutes of a song, they have 20 songwriters. Even the managers are composers. $500 for a ticket, gentlemen, to see them hopping like a jackáss dressed in colors!
The Auto-Tune and Playback ON! These fools sing even with the microphone off. You can't be the leader, champion of champions, if they wrote all your FOKING SONGS!
A well made hotdog is delicious. The problem is that's not cooked... by these liars. These bums are sweet-tooth. They don't take the dish to your table, and steal the waiter's tip! And they're not embarrased, that's the shameful thing. The bees make honey but the bear eats it. The respect is not bought by being talented. One thing's being artist, another one's being famous!
There's a cleaning to be done. Much delusion of grandeur, little skill. This just begins, and I'm still with my first BEER!
    [Dialogue]
    - Residente: Gabriel. Is okay like this?
    - Brother: For real, it's pretty sh!tty, mf. But if you diss J Balvin, I may like it.
    - Residente: No! Not J Balvin, mf! A dummy, that mf!
    ...
    - Residente: Fine. Let's.
[Chapter Three: The Knight of Mirrors]
I'm gonna lower myself with a dummy, who sings to Sponge Bob and Pokemon. The copy of a clone, the Logan Paul of Reggaeton! This is lower than ejaculating without erection.
Like they said to him: "Josecito, you lack of streets, that's why you have soft nuckles." With only a video I bury this calf, and I make him upload photos with his dog. This coward young lamb is like a vegan breakfast... without eggs (guts/nuts). The (colombian) people struggling, being killed (by government) and the guy uploads a photo of Gandhi praying.
LYING JACKÁSS, pretends to be spiritual, using mental health to sell a documentary. You're more false than a hotdog without ketchup nor bun. More false than DJ Luian's abs!
The buddy's so insecure, that has to be posting on Instagram of how much bux he earns. Doesn't understand the values of life, has to tatoo on himself, the "loyalty" word... because he forgets it!
He's a jerk with hair dye who put on black women, dogchains on their necks. A white boy who lost his path. All a divine, accepting his Afro-Latino award. One day he said he wanted to make Reggaeton, being frank, after discovering that Daddy Yankee was white! My pal, worst and most serious thing, is this jackáss being racist and doesn't even know it.
The history will slap your face at the name of all who, under abuse, harvested cotton. And another slap, at the name of all who've had to double-battle within Reggaeton: Myke Towers, Sech, Choquibtown, Rafa Pabon, Don Omar, Ozuna, Arcangel, Tego Calderon. They're a lot who, without thinking, you put under the drawer. In your colored rainbow, there's no BROWN!
A sacrilege, this school white boy still doesn't understand the foking privilege. But what do you expect from this loser, raised by his father, a frustrated influencer. In Puerto Rico, to be accepted in the Reggaeton... he swallowed more load than a condom. By each blow he stepped a stair up, each day disguised with a different color like a chameleon.
What Ruben (Blades) said, the resident still stands for: "Although you change of colors, I always know where you come through." The chameleons only look after their own navel. They become friends even with their enemies. Nothing but with this witness. "The business is business, partner. In the business, there're no friends."
My thing's no business. We are different. For the music, I put my heart to the front. My billboards are held by the people, next to my lyrics on each banner to takedown a president!
I'm not the most famous of the whole circuit, but I crack, in 20, your favorite rapper! What I said in "Calma Pueblo," I repeat: "With me, you eat, even though you have no apetite!"
I don't do this to give you advices, nor abuse you even though this is uneven. Today I skin you, so those who buy your hotdog shirt... feel so jackáss! This is for the kids, for the respect all those who write deserve.
The Formula 1's are as tourists, they race no more... because I JUST BROKE THE TRACK!
    [Final words]
    Well...
    I already took them.

There's a beef to the industry in chapter one and two. He claims that are all taking to far the social media and losing focus on what art is and how it began. Also when he says even my lyrics became alcoholic "por tanta barra" it because in Spanish Barra have like 2 or 3 meneanigs. The 2 that is he using are Barra as place where your liquor is serve and second Barra as a full sentence of this beef.

  • @candy43501

His name is René but his artist name is Residente.
    he is dissing J Balvin
basically, JBalvin asked everyone in the industry to boycott the grammys, allegedly because they aren't respecting the Latin American music industry but in reality, it was because he wasn't nominated that year. So Residente called him out and compared him and his music to a hot dog stand, saying that it is ok but when people really want to eat well they go to a restaurant (that's why he mentions hot dogs a lot throughout the song). JBalvin instead of apologizing and all, he launched hot dog-themed merch. Supposedly they had a phonecall talking about the problem.
The beef kept going on and when JBalvin heard that Residente and Bizarrap were doing this song, he called everyone he could and tried to stop him from doing it, even said that he could sue him for this. But Residente doesn't mind, he's already at the top of his career being the person with most grammys (i belive), he has 32. As he says in the hook "he does this to have fun, since I'm leaving right now I'm going to take a couple with me"
    that's all i know :)
    .
(edit) oh and he also accuses JBalvin of not writing his own songs, which with Residente being a true lyricist i get why he doesn't like that. So when he says that "they don't bring anything to the table but take the waiter's tip" he's talking about him not writing the song but getting all the credit
(edit 2, sorry I'm writing this as i see the video) The bar that says "in your rainbow of colors there's no color brown" is a reference to JBalvin's album "colores" where each song has a color name. I don't know anything about the racism accusations though.
if u like him you should listen to his song "René", it's definitely a masterpiece

Fun facts: he refers to the rainbow and colors because j balvin released an album called colors. Each color has its own song.
The part about the black women with chain was in reference to a music video balvin released where only black women were wearing dog collars.
When residente told balvin his music was like a hotdog cart balvin released hot dog merchandise that’s why he says.. I’m gonna end you so those who bought you hot dog merchant feel like p e nd e jo s.
Also balvin tried to humiliate residente once at a Spotify party telling him he wasn’t irrelevant enough. So he mentiones in the song my billboards are the people that use my frases to bring down presidents (puerto Rico).. last year in colombia(where balvin is from) government was literally killing and opressing it’s people and balvin did nothing but post a pic of ghandi praying.

Exactly well explained . He also asked resident (Rene ) to take down his videos about the Grammy and his mistake about telling singers no to go just because he tought they were using them but the reality is that he didn’t have enough nominations he didn’t think about the others in the same music that got nominations like he is the best better than others . On top of that Rene took the video down but he didn’t keep his words about to stop and erase his post too and started to disrespect him telling him he will do millions selling hotdogs merchandise that made Rene boils because he no only didn’t keep
His promise but he didn’t learn anything about the situation. He is just to much about himself and that is all I have see about balvin really most of the things he said are online is not a secret about some other I don’t know and I
His music is just too comercial and Ridiculous to me . but definitely he don’t want to realice how bad the industry is getting and every time we have less artist but more famous people .

What you just heard is a massacre by one of the best artists of the urban genre (Residente [E]) against all the talentless celebrities, who don't sing but are a very good product that generates a lot of profit, specifically against Jbalvin. With Jbalvin the story was that he (Balvin) called everyone in the artistic guild to boycott the Latin Grammys, all because he didn't have many nominations... and that bothered the resident, who compared Jbalvin's music to a hot dog cart (that's why the diss), after many discussions, the problem came to an end because both reached an agreement, but Jbalvin created a hot dog franchise, he even sold hot-dog flannels... He broke the agreement that had arrived between them and for that (among other things) Residente destroyed it 🤪🤪🤪

@@drmantikore The hot dog thing was because J-Balvin said that everyone liked his music and that is why he has a lot of Grammys. Residente compared his music to hot dogs from a little hot dog cart. Everyone likes cart hot dogs, even if they're awful but when people wants to eat fancy, they go to a fancy restaurant not a hot dog cart. Then as Mayrely above said, J-Balvin mocked at his hot dog reference by making his own hot dog clothing brand and obviously sold A LOT and all his fans wanted a hot dog shirt. That's where the line "Today i'm gonna skin your ass raw so the people who bought your hot dog shirts feel like idiots (pendejos)" comes from.

This al started with J balvin crying about not gettin nominated and winning as many latin grammy's as he wanted, so he called for a boycott from all the urban artists. Residente called him out for that, since he didn't called a boycott when he got nominated for 7 grammys the other year, and he just wanted more grammys for himself not even caring about the other minor artists that haven't got not a single grammy and got nominated that year. Residente said "Your music is like hotdogs, it's good for the meantime, but when the people want to eat some good food, they go to the real restaurants.
Balvin called on private Residente to ask him for taking down the video since it was the only true and it was killing his public figure, Residente took down the video and then Balvin put merchandising of a hotdog car.
Residente called him because that merch was just stupid and taking adventage of the little dissing, but Balvin never answered anything. Until the merch was already selling and told him "That's how the business are, I'm gonna be rich thanks to you."
Then Residente got into a collab with Bizarrap wich from the start Residente wanted to get all this stuff out of his interior, Dissing J balvin in the way. Balvin knew that before the song was released and told him "If you put this on the internet I'm gonna sue you and this producer", then he started to publish some photos of his mother in the hospital, and selling a documentary because he had "depression".
Days later, Residente and bzrp said "fuck it, let's do this" and that's the entire context I guess

Residente (resident), actual name is Rene Pérez, is one of the most talented rappers in Latinoamérica. At the beginning of his career he started a band called Calle 13 (Street 13) with his stepbrother, visitante (visitor) which was known for its eclectic style. After several years of success he went solo. This session is about J Balvin with whom he’s had some issues with.
Residente is a great rapper and writer. I recommend watching the video “Rene” which is a very personal song that talks about his depression and his struggles.

Ok so context: this is for JBalvin (you know, the guy who song with Jennifer Lopez at the Super Bowl) so Balvin started a campaign to boycott the Grammys because according to him the Academy doesn’t appreciate the urban music, cuz at the last ones he was nominated 13 times and he only won 1, so Rene (Residente) reacted to this boycott saying that Balvin can’t say to the urban artists to don’t go to the Grammys when there are some of them that may are on their first nomination, and they depend on that to make a small tour and take money to their houses, and if the Academy doesn’t appreciate the urban artists why residente has 31 Grammys… so! He ALSO compared JBalvin music with hotdogs cuz everybody likes hotdogs but when ppl wants to eat good good they goes to restaurants and those restaurants are who wins Michelin Stars, and if Balvin wants a Michelin Star (a Grammy) he needs to stop making hotdogs and open a restaurant. So months after that Balvin released his video “Perra” showing African American women with chins around their necks as they where dogs.
    So that the gossip lol

The beef started when JBalvin, a colombian urban genre artist, wanted to boicot the billboards events of 2019 or 2020 by telling in twitter to other urban artists that the billboards doesn't apreciate the urban genre just because he didn't get nominated that year. The issue here is that the billboards of that year were dedicated to Ruben Blades, a pioner of the salsa genre and great musician. Residente of course didn't like this "amazing" idea of Balvin and dedicated an instagram video to him saying that his music is like a hot dog foodtruck, that when people wanted to eat fast and cheap they would go to his truck but if the people wanted to eat good, they would go to a restaurant; and finished the video saying to Balvin that he shouldn't be making this a bigger issue cause he doesn't write his songs, and this gets demonstrated when Balvin made and album called Colores(collors) where in the credits are a big number of writters and compositors for each song and Balvin's name is only in a few songs. Balvin used this beef with Residente and made merch with a hot dog logo. the next problem in this beef is when Colombia's people started making riots against the government and a lot of civillians were killed, and the only thing that Balvin said about this problem was him posting a picture of Gahndi praying on his instagram page. The next and final problem is when Balvin made a song called Perra(Bitch/Dog) where he put dog collars and chains on two black women, the video got quickly taken down and he was accused of racism and mysoginy, this got somewhat reinforced when in an interview he said that when he discovered that Daddy Yankee, a very big and amazing puertorican rapper of the urban genre, was a white person he started wanting to be like him with the "excuse" of "the urban genre or regueton was very dominated by black people". That's why Residente says that in Balvin's ranbow of colors the brown or black color doesn't exist and that he would get two slaps in name of those who had to pick cotton because of slavery and those who had to fight harder inside the urban genre because of their skin color like Tego Calderon, Ozuna, Don Omar, Myke Towers and other artists that he mentions.
Ptt:I'm puertorican so my spelling is a little off, so please correct me if I spelled something wrong.

This is a better translation for the ones that still don't get what's happening... (not my translation)
    Verse 1: Residente]
I'm a little uneasy as I keep an eye on the urban genre
Looking over, like a alligator in the Nile River
Adjusting a couple of pending accounts before Milo arrives
Sitting on a chair under an umbrella, in a tank top
With the dog biting my shoe
Burping out tortillas and tostadas with butter
Aiming at the horizon with a rifle without a scope
As I speak to myself like Don Quixote
With beer foam on the mustache
Waiting for these hot dogs to come out of their recording booths
Like a sprout, before their boat sinks
But just like always, the shit always comеs out
I'm ready to give it to thesе dumbasses until my cartridge runs out
Today I'll knock down their marketing with a single pull
Just like we knocked down the statues of Christopher Columbus
    I'm smashing this trash
Like a rocker in the 80s breaking their guitar
With Resi you shall get smeared
Even my verses turned into alcoholics because there are too many bars
    I come from El calentón
From Trujillo the drums sound in the street, ro-po-pom-pom
There is no discussion, even my brother Don
Knows that in rap there is only one King Kong
Sending fire, this is White Lion, there is no game
As in the times of Voltio and Tego
You and I are not the same
I don't believe in celebrities from digital platforms
Nor in your whipped cream Billboards
Nor in your Instagram stories, Dolce&Gabbana, and Cartier
I only believe in my level
And in the coal of my pencil sliding over the paper
    [Chorus: Residente]
    I'm doing this for fun
    For fun, for fun
    I'm doing this for fun
    For fun, for fun
    [Post-Chorus: Residente]
    Since I'm leaving now
I'll take a couple with me before I go
    [Verse 2: Residente]
Today I'm screwing the celebrity industry
Until I break my bed's springs
And when my bars spill, I fuck them with no pajamas
Vertical and horizontal, like a crossword
When it comes to diss tracks, I'm this era's most feared one
For these losers, Spring isn't multicolored anymore
Because wherever I throw a punchline, flowers stop growing
    You are tier-five artists
That write less than a pen with no ink
When they see me, they break down
Pale white color like the fake teeth you put on
When the cap with an [R] comes near
The entire stage begins to smell like a communal farm
Because these fake rappers become chickens
With my rhymes, as I impose discipline like China
My retina only sees heads rolling down the hill
The French Revolution with the guillotine
Burning showcases, I go to everything, I go to the top
With a bottle, a towel, and gasoline, like Palestine
I make it easy, like peeling tangerines
Comfortable, like a seat as it reclines
I'm Correa, Báez, and Lindor, a double play part of the routine
This isn't Instagram, this is resolved in the recording booth
I kill them even with my left and right tied up
Singing nursery rhymes, jumping the rope
There is no break for me to lose
If I put you all in the blender, a shit smoothie will come out
For a two-minute song you have twenty songwriters
    Even your managers are composers
Five hundred dollars for a ticket, misters
Just to be jumping like a dickhead dressed up in colors
The Auto-Tune and playback is on
These fools even sing with the mic off
You can't be a leader, the champion of champions
If they've written all of your songs for you
A well-made hot dog is so delicious
The thing is that it wasn't cooked by these liars
    These lazy asses are greedy
They don't even take the plate to your table and they still steal the servers' tips
    And they're not ashamed, that's what's shameful
The bees make honey, but the bear eats it
You don't buy respect for being talented
One thing is being an artist, the other is being famous
Ah, there needs to be a cleanse
A lot of delusion of grandeur, but barely any skills
    This has just begun
And I'm still on my first beer
    [Chorus: Residente]
    I'm doing this for fun
    For fun, for fun
    I'm doing this for fun
    For fun, for fun
    [Post-Chorus: Residente]
    Since I'm leaving now
I'll take a couple with me before I go
    [Interlude: Residente & Gabriel Cabra]
Gabriel, is it okay like that?
Mmm, the truth is that it's shit, man
But if you throw at Balvin then I might like it
    No, not Balvin, man
That asshole is just a chatterbox
    Okay, let's go
    [Verse 3: Residente]
I'm going to downgrade to a chatterbox
That sings to SpongeBob and Pokemon
The copy of a clone, the Logan Paul of reggaetón
That is shittier than cumming without an erection
    As they say around:
"Josecito, you have no streets in you, that's why your knuckles are soft"
With just a video I could bury this sucker
And make him upload pictures with his dog
This coward, young lamb, is like a vegan breakfast: he has no eggs
The town is fighting, they're killing them
And the man uploads picture of Ghandi praying
    Stupid liar, he acts spiritual
Using mental health to sell a documentary
You are faker than a hot dog with no ketchup or bread
    Faker than Luian's abs
    The man is so insecure
That he has to announce through Instagram how much money he earns
He doesn't understand values in life
He has to get "loyal" tattooed because he forgets to be it
    That imbecile with hair dye
Who put black women in dog chains around their necks
A whitey that has lost his way
So divine! Accepting his Afro-Latino award
One day, he said he decided he wanted to do reggaetón, to be honest
When he discovered Daddy Yankee was white
My key, the worst of everything and the most serious thing
Is that this asshole is racist and doesn't realize it
History is going to slap you in the name of all those who picked cotton under abuse
And another slap in the name of all those who have had to battle twice within reggaeton
Myke Towers, Sech, ChocQuibTown, Rafa Pabön
Don Omar, Ozuna, Arcángel, Tego Calderón
They are a bunch that you thoughtlessly put under a drawer
In your colorful rainbow there is no brown
    A sacrilege
This rich white boy still doesn't understand fuckin' privilege
But what would you expect from this loser?
Raised by his dad, a frustrated influencer
In Puerto Rico so that they'd give him respect in reggaetón
He swallowed more milk than a condom
For every ass he kissed, he jumped up a step
Every day covered in a different color, like a chameleon
What Ruben said, Resident holds his own
"Even if he changes color, I will always know where he comes from"
The chameleons are only out for their own belly button
    They even befriend their enemies
Except for when it comes to a witness, business is business, partner, there are no friends in business
My thing isn't business, we're different
I put my heart out for music
My Billboards are held by my people
As well as my lyrics written on every banner to try to kick out a president
I'm not the most famous in the entire circuit
But I'll demolish your favorite rapper in twenty pieces
What I said in "Calma Pueblo," I repeat
With me, you eat even if you have no appetite
I'm not doing this to give you advice
Nor to abuse you, even if the competition is uneven
    Today I'm skinning you
So the people buying the hot dog shirts feel stupid
    This is for the guys
For the respect that everyone who writes deserves
The Formula 1 are now tourists, they no longer run
'Cause I just broke the track, ah

Good reactions, the management of the area is noticeable regardless of the language of the topic, because the language is the same behind the microphone.
And I have heard your music, the delivery of the rhymes (Delivery) is very hard, with tremendous direct messages.
    Greetings from Chile.

The beef is a lot of episodic thing with J-Balvin but chapter 1 and 2 is to recent rappers singing in PR that think they are the best but chapter 3 is only to J-Balvin.
J-Balvin and Residente beef has been long time they had a lot of issues

    the best rene !

  • @dannieHern

Ok, so there are multiple layers to this beef. Rene killed it! It is a masterpiece. It started with J Balvin not being nominated to the Grammys once (despite having been nominated previous years and winning Grammys before) to which he decided it was ok to post asking other urban artists to boycott the Grammys. Rene took offense to that saying on his own post that asking other artists to boycott any awards because he felt wronged by the Grammys was rather hypocritical, considering he has won grammys before. He also stated that it was rude to ask artists not to go to awards when they've been nominated because those artists have put in lots of work and deserve they're nominations and their awards. J balvin replied to him saying that he didn't understand why Rene would argue with him as he considered Rene a friend. To that Rene replied that they weren't friends as he didn't even know Balvin, and said that the biggest insult was someone like Balvin who doesn't even write his own lyrics to go telling artist not to accept awards when those other artists are better than him was crazy. Rene compared Balvin to a hot dog cart. J Balvin then created his own hot dog t shirt and, and when he found out BZRP was working with Residente on a tiradera, he asked BZRP to not release the song because he would sue. That cause Rene to go all Residente out on Balvin and create this absolute masterpiece of art and tell him how much better he is than Balvin, and that to him the genre was about real artistic and lyrics with substance instead of Balvins racist, meaningless crap that he puts out.
