    Adam, as a fellow M3SR+ I agree with all your points, especially the last one: for an affordable price, the RED Tesla gains one access to the Tesla experience.
    And, oh my, what an experience it is! I have 50+ years of owning and driving a wide variety of vehicles, and I can attest that my “poor man’s Tesla” is the best of the best of the best I’ve ever experienced.
    My Tesla and I have been together over two years, 32,000+ miles, on trips to the grocery store to road trips all over California and across the US.
    My Tesla does not restrict me. It liberates me to go where I want to go.

    Good points. I recently replaced my 20-year-old ICE car with a Tesla Model 3 RWD and I really enjoy it. My only caveat is that for those unable to charge at home, owning an EV can be inconvenient, especially if you have to drive a long distance to a charging station. Alien tech.

    • @AdamWellinformed
      @AdamWellinformed  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching. Fair analysis indeed. A majority of people will be able to home charge thankfully. However those without will miss that convenience. I wouldn’t want to comment to much on that experience as I don’t go through it myself. Hopefully these individuals get the opportunity to charge at their workplace instead. ⚡️

    The title of this video says it all. Longer range EVs are simply NO LONGER needed unless maybe you live in rural Montana or such. I have the Model Y RWD with LFP. It's more than perfect. The Model 3 is just as good. Take your pick.

    I did a demo drive just out of curiosity as the last electric car I'd driven was a Sebring/Vanguard Citycar. Wasn't really serious about buying one, and figured if I did it would need to be the Dual Motor because of the added range. Well, I learned a lot after that drive, and last week picked up my new RWD M3, the only option it has is the red paint.
    This thing is a trip, I've never driven a car anything like it, and the price was just too good to pass up.

    Hi Adam. I’m in Leicestershire and I pick up my brand new RWD blue model 3 on 3rd August (CAN’T WAIT!) I’ve originally ordered the LR but after more thought this car made more sense in soo many ways. 8k cheaper, 1.6 seconds slower 0-60 fact is 5.8 seconds to 60mph is still rapid (and how often do you need “crazy acceleration?) , no sub woofer, still 8 speakers is enough! Plus you charge the LR to 80% daily use whereas the RWD is 100% every day soo it’s almost like “long range for special occasions only.” Soo whilst that LR 4.2 secs to 60 would be a fun thing, it’s just not worth 8k for that 1.6 secs difference!
    Nice video thanks

      Over 18 moths and 8300 miles, I'm averaging 5.3m/kwh. Equates to about 316m range. Last year's hot summer meant A/C was on almost permantly. Doesn't seem to affect range. One very cold journey at -5deg saw efficency drop to 3.6m/kwh.

    I've had a Model 3 RWD for 6 months and it's an amazing vehicle for under $40k. I really don't think you can get value like this anywhere else right now. These things will last 500k miles and comes with little to no maintenance AND the electric costs 1/4th of what I spent on gasoline with my previous vehicle.

      I’ve been very transparent in the past about insurance. To the point where I’ve done at least two dedicated videos on insuring my model 3 to help other owners. Plus i’ve done two annual running cost video’s summarising my total costs to date with should include insurance. For clarity, I think I paid under £400 back in November. There are other non-model related factors that form a insurance quotation. So much so that results vary from person to person. I can’t make a reliable comment on that. Its much more transparent and reliable for me to relay my experience on it. I can’t grumble with the sub £400 cost.
