@parthivc6353 No I have not checked about it. We didnt want to buy in Gold Souk as I didnt feel very comfortable buying there.. And credit cards have different sort of rules. So always buy keeping that in mind. The credit card we used was of Niyo where you don't have to pay anything extra for credit use per say. And no conversion charges. So if someone says, 2.5% you save without credit card, meaning you paid extra for credit card and that won't be applicable for cash. If your credit card itself is not charging you extra then no need to worry at all. But you can still check as I don't have knowledge about saving through cash payment. I don't want to mislead you without knowing in depth. Thank you. 😇

@kranthivardhan2056 I have seen online about gold chains with 24karat. Not sure how a chain can be made of 24karat. A pure gold cannot be molded into ornaments is a generally known fact. So I would not have thought of buying it as there will be some mixes and charges will be of 24karat. I hope this info helps you in deciding.

@khushbrar9229 I definitely don't recommend buying a gold bar. One of my friend had bought this and custom officer caught him and my friend had to pay fine and tax as well. So it became much more than if he would have bought in India. In end it was useless to buy from there. Buy something less which you can wear and come.

22k gold rate what I showed in the video, was same as market price. You can always verify it when bill is made. I don't think gold rate would vary, becuase customers would cross verify. But making charges is something the shop keeper will play around.. Do not believe if someone says no making charges. It is a business, simply they cannot give an ornament for a gold price.. that's why I have made this video to educate people.
i will be taking my wife for 2 days trip and i will be going to US and she will be back to chennai. how much gold can she bring to india . m abit confused as she will be coming back alone. usually as per law 40 grams are allowed but as she stay only 2 days i do no how much she is allowed to bring gold to india
@johnbosco77 even if 2 days your wife will have tourist visa I belive . So should not be a problem with gold. Usually customs are not strict for tourists unless it is too much of gold. 40gm is fine I believe.

Yes. I recommend to buy from Malabar, Kalyan, Joyalukkas, Bheema - trusted brands. These sell 22 carat gold which is valuable in India. Gold souk is good for a visit, not to buy gold.
I had selected a pair of gold earring to buy in gold souk. Shopkeeper told the final rate to be double of actual gold quantity. We will have to bargain. But even then, it won't be as plain as just gold rate. So I believe making charges are there, even though explicitly not mentioned. I personally dropped the idea of buying in gold souk as I didn't have time or patience to bargain.
Officially you can't get gold to India unless you stayed in Dubai for one year at least. But unofficially you can get, but wear it and don't keep in bag. But looking at the shine of brand new gold, didn't the Bangalore customs ask you or stop you? You will wear it, but what if they check your bag and find out the original joyallukas bill and case. I used Niyo SBM credit card. I used in Joyalukkas and mostly everywhere. No additional charges.
