It depends on also the extend of damage and how you damaged your hair. My diet has been corrected for the past 3 years and I've increased from sedentary to active life style. Yet my hair still wont grow back because my damage stems from traction alopecia. So I've most likely done a tone of damage to my follicles with styling. So I mix it in my shea butter and apply. I also do the rise water rinse. I have tried, don't speak too soon. I had issues with my hair falling out which caused me to try this method. My co-workers buy this coffee I took about 4 of their packs and only used 1 pack so far made a lot of oil. It's been 3 weeks and my edges are filling it along with other stuff I do, but I am consistent with what I do.
My hair used to grow fast but hair tends to grow slower as you get older. I think will try that only I'll brew the coffee, let it cool, then put it in a spray bottle and spray my scalp.
I thought coffee dries out your hair. I didn't know it softened hair. Does coffee have Inositol in it like rice water does? Rice water has protein. I wonder if can we mix the coffee with the rice water and have the best of both worlds? The Inositol in rice wate prevents split ends and maintains the integrity of the hair strands even after it is rinsed out. I guess the caffeine stimulates your follicles. So does rice water. Just my thoughts outloud.
This is old school , people been using coffee in their hair for years , you suppose to pour the coffee in a cup and use a brush with it , dip the brush inside the cup with the coffee and then brush it throughout your hair , I have seen it done over the years , let it sit then wash it out .
Great video! I have major hair loss from not knowing how to maintain virgin hair and chlorinated water while having chemical straightener in my hair. 😟 I wanted a wash and go style but I couldn't find a hair stylist who could maintain long hair. This started back in the early 90" s late 80's. I have had some major hardships as well as many other people too. I have spent so much time and money to get control of my hair again. Now, I know how to use DIY's to save time, money and maintain my hair growth. I have a long way to go but your DIY is encouraging. I love your hair too, it looks healthy. Thank you for sharing
I love this..... but I cannot use it as, the coffee does penetrate into my bloodstream easier than if I was drinking it and I won’t be able to sleep for days. Done it it before, the hair looks great. Great video though.
Good Karma I have hereditary insomnia, so I cannot drink caffeine. I will try with decaf coffee, and see if it works, otherwise, natural tea rinses like rosemary is my go to.
Ok. Something new to try in 2019. My low porosity hair is protein sensitive so I’ll try this coffee rinse and see how it works. I can only do the rice water once or twice a month. Sugar and cream.
Rice water has my hair butter soft. You have to be consistent with spraying once a night and leave it in until you wash. Your hair gets used to the nutrients fast and soon will began to absorb into the hair shaft. I left it in a whole week, making a new batch daily and I feel like I should have never stopped. It also gives your skin a beautiful glow. And buy castor oil. That’s the only thing besides styling products and I can finally get to my roots without all the matts after washing and braiding. You have to try it
Watch vitamin d intake as well women of color don't get enough vitamin d. Some of us sit in the sun for 10-30 minutes a day. Take a supplement with vitamin k. I did make this oil just now. Hope this will help
I'm working to thicken my hair. I may combine this w/ my pre-poo of castor oil. I use rice water as my final conditioner & rinse it out after 30 min to 1 hour. It's given me softness, elasticity & length.
Guess what I'm ahead of you on this one, buttt how can you have experience using this when it's new to you. Your hair is naturally long and good quality and anyway not sure it worked I wasn't consistent. Since I have gone back to cheap instant coffee I am going to to do this every 3-5 days. Still will use the fermented rice water I have.
Look into using castor oil on your brows. Make sure it’s cold pressed & hexane free. I also take my henna/castor oil/coffee mixture for my hair and apply it to my brows. It takes patience, but it works!

I feel in a week, it had helped with fullness, break down oil buildup and stimulate the follicles. Honestly, I think the caffeine absorbed into the follicles to give that fullness, lock in moisture. Still very helpful. Currently, I shed less than before but the hair is thin again. I should try it again!
@@KN510 caffeine increasess blood circulation and gets nutrients to your hair to keep your hair strong. this means you have to do it daily, forever to keep the effects
I’m not sure if you mentioned but this is great for excessive shedding and breakage !!
There's a bunch of haters on here....anyways, thank you for the info lovely one!
Thinking of combining everything I get from you tube about hair 😀
I remember the one Garnier Fructis had one and then it got tooken off the market but I had it for at least about three months and when I tell you that I felt a significant of hair growth I felt it so I do believe coffee helps you out alot with that
Taken* not tooken
I have tried the coffee oil. Hevn't tried the coffee rinse. But I did strain the coffee grains out didn't ant that mess n my hair. I first used on my edges and it does work.
Sanvhill, really? Please, tell me how are you doing now
My hair used to grow fast but hair tends to grow slower as you get older.
I say stick with green tea as coffee may be to harsh
Done this some years ago. I didn't notice any softness but i did see a difference in color to the hair.
@@greenmulatta in agree it ain't for everyone.
@@greenmulatta it does dry your hair out. And daily use causes adverse effects. If used it twice a week and have been fine.
shanitha33 did ur hair become lighter or darker?
It’s good to add caster oil with this ..
This is old school , people been using coffee in their hair for years , you suppose to pour the coffee in a cup and use a brush with it , dip the brush inside the cup with the coffee and then brush it throughout your hair , I have seen it done over the years , let it sit then wash it out .
My grandmother did this to color her children's natural red hair brown. Me and all of my cousins have soft hair lol

Great video though.
lucy de la cruz Ooh! Thanks for your comment ..I thought about trying but my body is very sensitive to caffeine
lucy de la cruz thanks for the info. I go through days and nights without sleeping.
Good Karma I have hereditary insomnia, so I cannot drink caffeine. I will try with decaf coffee, and see if it works, otherwise, natural tea rinses like rosemary is my go to.
Wow. Really? This seems disturbing
lucy de la cruz ik I’m late but decaf coffee wouldn’t work because caffeine is the ingredient that helps hair growth
I see so many comments about how crazy this is yet we use products full of chemicals in our hair all the time 🤔
Empress Lika great point 🙌🏾🙌🏾👌🏾
EXACTLY. Good point sis! Started to think why people back then have better hair when depending on natural resources than modern peeps today.
I used a mixture of different carrier oils, lavender essential oil and rosemary oil too instead of water and kept it overnight.
I heard about this. I'm going to definitely try it. We wouldn't know if it works if we don't try it.
Does it work lol?
didi you try it did it work? year later?
@@justme-cq6uq their comment was a year ago, I don’t think they’re coming back. Unfortunately 😂

Ok. Something new to try in 2019. My low porosity hair is protein sensitive so I’ll try this coffee rinse and see how it works. I can only do the rice water once or twice a month. Sugar and cream.
Please let me know how it works for you. My hair is exactly the same!
You have to try it
Curious how it has been working for you and how frequently you applied. Please and thank you!
P.s. sugar and cream
I added coffee and cocoa powder to my henna treatment. Never thought of using it alone. Thanks Maryam, Nice video😊
How's the henna working out for you? I heard it really grows your hair!
what does the cocoa powder do?
I found coffee bean Jamaican castor oil a few months ago.
I have been using rice water for over a year and it has grown my hair, so now I will try the over night coffee treatment , thanks
Who else got a haircut with turned out bad and you want to grow your hair back because the next day is school
Lol
Hi Maryam what can I use for growing my eyebrows?
Look into using castor oil on your brows. Make sure it’s cold pressed & hexane free. I also take my henna/castor oil/coffee mixture for my hair and apply it to my brows. It takes patience, but it works!
I'm doing this treatment now and I'll let you know about my results
How did it go
Please do.......waiting to hear from you
How did it go please tell us
Hello
Good evening . Maryam!!! This is something different now I will have to try this one your hair is really growing!!! Wow that's awesome!!! Thanks for sharing this posting!! And you and your family have the best . Holiday ever!!!! ,bye . Maryam!!!.
Are you sure that if I apply it on my hair it will work
First, thank you for getting started right away unlike videos that take 3 minutes to get to the point. Second, McCafe Coffee, yaas! I love the smell, the taste, I might try to put this in my bath water! I already use rice water and my hair has grown two inches in a month. So can't wait to see what happens if I add this to my regime.
How many times in a week can rice water be used?
Did you put your hair in protective hairstyles using the rice water and how many times a day or week did you use it?
@@theresaigube5734 Test your porosity. If your hair is porous, then its on the dry side. Rice water can be drying, so decide how your hair reacts for a week.
Much easier to prepare than rice water ... thanks for sharing .. I am going to try this treatment.
My hair gone say badabababa I'm lovin' it!😂😂😂❤❤
I wa waiting for someone to leave this comment. lol!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I just started using the coffee method today..,, I'm also using rice water as well
Tiny Tiny how were the results
The results please 💙
You can also brew some coffee if you have no coffee powder. I use organic coffee grounds.
Woooow It works perfectly
I use green tea.
Drinking coffee right now but knowing I can spray my gray roots to potentially grow and darken my hair is intriguing
Watching this video in 2019 ❤
Okay but how much “warm water” ??
Thank you dahling continually for your help. I will definitely give it a try starting tonight
Good video Maryam. The Coffee treatment works.
I always thought that this would make my hair dry because coffee makes me dehydrated. I figured it would do that do my hair as well. Since people seem to be in favor of it, I might try it.
I think instant coffee could do awesome work too. It is much easier to wash after the kur.
Thank you Young Lady!!❤❤
Wont the coffee grains be stuck in your hair if you don't stain if properly?
It's powdered coffee, like instant coffee.
Well then strain it properly when you make it
Is this safe for relaxed hair
Do you always have to wash out the coffee after, if so how long does it stay in your hair?
25 minutes, while massaging it.
How many times shall we make it on a day plz i want to now
....can I put it on my eyebrows tho ?
Cool another thing to add to my hair
Now I have flax seed gel, mayo, olive oil, rice water, apple cider vinegar, aloe vera and now coffee
Me too lol
Thank you for sharing this! Much easier than rice water! How long does it keep fresh and how often do you use it?
I am trying to go all natural with hair products for my hair so this helps, cause I keep coffee. Love love love your channel. I am living as a breatharian for almost a week and doing body care...etc, so this is great! I am doing coffee then rice water in rotation for weeks. Since I can't drink anything for a week I may as well put it in my hair.
This is beautiful. I am going to try this now!!!
been using coffee for a long time.dont doit befor bed tho..you will stay awake.
Dionne why? Explain before I try
Caffeine keeps you up at night. It is absorbed thru the pores into the body.
really??? I guess its being absorbed into the skin so...
Do you keep it in the fridge?
What is your hair type I’m afraid to use some of your methods because my hair is 4c😬
The rice water method is for everyone
My hair is 4c and I have used both methods. My edges grew back with the rice water. The coffee stimulated growth and stopped the shedding I had.
rhonda t ohhh okok thank you so much 😭💗
@@rhondarhonda9013 did you use the rice water every day or just as a rinse?
@@MzMysty83 - Remember the rice water is protein, make sure you moisturize as well. I did it every day until I saw growth. Then I made sure I kept it moisturized and oiled everyday

Thank ypu , my grandma used this when i ws a kid, and she would wash it out and use Alberto VO5 cream in a tube to put on her hair and her hair was super long as a kid you don't know but now I know what it's for she was French Creole Annie mean beautiful luscious long hair.
Audrey Harrison my creole grandmothers hair was down to her butt! I wonder if she used this.
Which one works best and what which one do you use the most?
I will give this a try, you have beautiful hair!!!
Rice, coconut oil, eggs, aloe vera and now coffee. OMG, that's breakfast already. Very soon we will start adding fruit juice for appetizers and ice cream for dessert.
Anyway,I"ll try it
Please use organic coffee... coffee beans is the most heavily pesticide sprayed plant in the world.
noo omg thank you.
@TheCreepyPrettyLady Channel you should be drinking organic coffee too.
Organic coffee🤔🤔🤔 what about "Bustelo" coffee??? Bustelo coffee are the best....anyway last time I checked Dunkin Donuts didn't sell "organic coffee"😂😂🤷♀️🤷♀️
Can we use any coffee
My edges are gone and I have been watching your videos to find the best treatment and I have tried the rice water and I've also tried the onion juice and will definitely be trying this one. I think this may be my favorite because of the smell of coffee, but what I want to know is if I can use coconut oil with the coffee powder instead of the water?
How are the edges now?
If it coffee remain you keep it on fridge or what
Green coffee beans are best to use.
