The suicide ending hits me really hard, you can hear the pain and suffering in the narrators voice, it makes me want to cry. Same with the skip button ending, every time you leave the narrator, he seems more sad, until.. Well, he's dead or gone.
I've been listening to this in the background for near an hour now, and when the narrator said, "Somebody was following Stanley," at 56:04 I felt more dread in that single moment than any horror game playthrough I've done/watched. That fucking freaked me out lmao.

The Stanley Parable is, almost in spite of its loud and ironic insistence, a beautiful work of art. The commentary present is given a sense of dramatic heavy-handed irony, giving it the feel of being purposely presented as irony, but to such an extreme degree that it almost folds in on itself and the irony comes straightens out into the developers simply stating the truth as they see it from behind the thin veneer of it "obviously being a joke" - now there's a sentence that might even be worthy of The Narrator. And it's obvious with this re-release that they're not content with simply re-presenting their commentary on videogames as they stood at the time the game originally released, but they also have to apply the same treatment to how games are nowadays, with their 'rushed' expansions and all. Good to see that the Stanley Parable devs never lost their sense of humor, and that The Narrator never lost his knack for making us laugh at things as silly as a 'skip' button.
Smii7y the ending that kept resetting for you was actually the true, non-victory ending, it just bugged for you. After the second or third reset it would have put you on the roof of the two doors room and the credits would roll. I’ve never actually seen it bug like that.
I love how just about every path you take adds something to each new run through, so you're always left wondering "What if I had taken the other path the first time?"
Fun fact about the narrator dialog: he actually recorded the entirety of his lines all at once and sent the whole thing in to the studio and they extrapolated what they needed to wherever it went. (small spoiler here) They just had him say "and the bucket" once so they could fuse it into every line (where applicable) if Stanley was taking his bucket with him.
Not true. He re-recorded all of the lines but with "and the bucket". Then, once the sequel got more complex, they added more and more storylines and voice lines about the bucket.
@@sorenfarley thank you. Yeah the original plan was just to do "and the bucket" voicelines... but now every ending has its own story. The only one that is similar is the real ending as well as the suicide ending... everything else changed. Hell maybe the telephone endings
the remade the entire game just to add bucket content. it started as just "hey lets add a few triggers if you are holding the bucket." but it just kept expanding and getting larger.
@Lyssa well i dont know what makes you doubt him, but as the writer said in a stream that this was the original plan... I'd think it is pretty true. It was on this stream: watch?v=REnFIJhVA-g Feel free to check, I dont have the time :D But he did say that.
I don't think it was that he recorded all the lines in one file for Ultra Deluxe, if I remember correctly it was that he did it for the original Half Life 2 mod.
fun fact that within the room with the red and blue door the blue door will always be a option even after the red door has all the flashing lights, it was just placed behind you. the narrator gets even more emotional as you defy him its hilarious
The funny thing is, in the skip button room, I would listen for several hours on the narrators ramblings mostly because I am used to it having a best friend that has ADHD who does like to ramble on for quite a bit. Like yesterday we rambled on about old memories, talking about old toy shops that were popular or new and old tv shows/games. Went on for like two to three hours.
@@wesleyrodgers886 No, old toy shops, like ones that have shut down but were prominent back in like early 2000s (the early 2000s is when we were born). There was a prominent toy shop here in Sweden called BR (literally pronounced B.R), this toy shop had basically everything from Legos to toy cars to Barbie dolls, they even gave you a free toy on your birthday. It was sadly shut down like a year or two ago I think?
I honestly don’t mind the super long format every now and then. I can just watch and pick it up later when I’m free. It’s easy to keep up when it’s sporadic. 2 hour content from the milk bag is a treat!
Something interesting is that the narrator talks about how Stanley “couldn’t believe he could be under someone else’s control” but in truth this is what the narrator has been doing with Stanley all along, ever since Stanleys creation.
And whats giving me the chills/paranoid vibe rn is that the female narrator is the narrator of stanley's narrator; breaking the forth wall of the forth wall. Truly unpresedented writing of a truly exceptional game
@@Irish8479 thats a really good point, it would be interesting to see if they might build on that. As well as that its interesting to note that the player is playing through the eyes of the creators creations creation.
This game, I swear, I seriously can’t believe Smii7y allowed himself to play the game. Genuinely, I hardly knew anything about the game before today, but holy shit, Smii7y’s use of the playing the game has 100% demonstrated how a game designed to torture people more than “Getting Over It,” and Smii7y, no introduction needed, are the most perfect combination together
I very clearly remember being 13, coming home from middle school, and sitting down at my computer to watch the Yogscast, my favorite TH-camrs at the time, play the Stanley Parable for the first time back in 2013. And to watch Smii7y, my current favorite TH-camr, play this ULTRA DELUXE version today in 2022, it feels so surreal. Over all the years I've been on TH-cam, I've had a deep appreciation for every TH-cam channel I come across that makes me happy by playing these silly games, and this gameplay video made me look back on all those wonderful memories. Thank you for playing this game Smi77y. I'm very happy. :)
Hey SMii7Y, I really love this style of content and I'd love to see more of it! I think your commentary is fun and interactive and I am excited to see more of this!
I'm honestly thinking Smii7y should play more games like this! It was fun to see him decend into madness making this but I like seeing him sit down and actually play a game by himself for once.
There is so much more in this game that I know you’ll love. Please play more solo games. Hearing you just sit down and have fun with single player games is so much fun to listen to and see in my feed. Love ya Smii7y. Never change!
its rare for stuff to bend and twist my brain like this, they did such a good job. And just that sense of uncertainty where you think its a controlled loop but it really isnt, damn... what a game...
Not only is it mindbending, ending after ending doing basically walking and going through doors. Still being one of the greatest games ever made. Using the negative comments in a smart way, being super meta, doing a stanley parable 2 and 3 and having a small list of interesting ways of getting trophies. Love the narrator and all the different endings always something new. Even setting the time of the game, going off it and going back on to it to set the time again giving different dialogue is so damn fun. Also the narrator talking about how lazy some games are nowadays is so based and funny 😂
The one thing that I know of that I’m sad he missed is the bottomless hole when it first shows up, because you can continue going in the hole and more stuff happens
I binged this all at once. There were small bits I wish you discovered, but still enjoyed this ride with you. Also loved your superliminal playthrough.
46:08 THE COMPLETE BLANKNESS IN THE NARRORATORS TONE WHEN HE SAID, "And my God theres no way out of the room. Stanley the door is gone, its completely gone." WAS SO FUNNY. IM DEAD BROOOO, 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I would love to see you play more of this. There's a specific path you almost went that I really wanted to see. When you get to the red and blue doors by disobeying the narrator the entire time and the red door has an arrow pointing to it you need to turn around to find the blue door. Go through it and continue from there.
Wow. The end of this video hit hard. Really emotional, I love it. I love hour long videos or longer videos like this, I love having something that i loge to binge since I'm going through the worst time of my life right now and I'm all alone. Really Smii7y, you're getting me through alot right now. Thank you, I look forward to more videos from you, and I hope you have an amazing day!
Even though the music isnt AS important as it was in Superliminal, The Stanley Parable would still feel incomplete without it, so im glad he listened to the feedback!
2:12:09 You dont know how excited I got when he said "what if I hit ON?" only to be blue-balled lmao I was really hoping he'd see that ending...oh well, he had to keep his word...
The fact that I never put my phone down, skipped forward or ahead, and just kept watching is incredible. I loved watching this so much, and thank you for the experience, both SMii7Y and the developer. ❤️❤️❤️
Binged the whole thing in one go. As someone who has never actually played the game myself, experiencing it through your eyes was an absolute rollercoaster, and I enjoyed every second of it. Keep it up, Champ ❤
1:16:00 “crazy? I was crazy once” he did it, he actually did it, no way…… maybe I am crazy Crazy? I was crazy once, they put me in a rubber room with rats, rubber rats. I hate rats, rats make me crazy. Crazy? I was crazy once,
I have never been so distraught, curious and angry at a video until now. thank you SMii7Y and The Stanley Parable for making this the most enjoyable, annoying and agonizing 2 hours if my life.
26 minutes in and I’m so disappointed Smii7y missed the third blue door Edit: just over an hour and now disappointed he didn’t go back in the hole Edit 2: no broom closet ending, shit Edit 3: okay we definitely need a part 2
The fact that I actually watched the full video in one go says a lot about how much I either enjoy SMii7Y's content or Stanley Parable playthroughs. I'd totally do this again.
my thought for this is that the people had to actually say this whole dialogue thing and there's so many areas that can be changed so I think that's amazing.
I don't know how you managed to make me watch this full video, but you did it. And I am glad that you did it. They made a beautiful artwork with this game, and you created a very fun video out of it. Thank you.
48:08 This is actually going to be a very serious comment that is going to discuss very real things so if you could take time to read it that would mean a lot. I PROMISE IT IS RELAVENT I struggle with derealization, which is the feeling of being detached from my mental processes and surroundings. sometimes this escalates to the point where i feel as if i am no longer real. This whole monologue from the narrator is a very accurate explanation of this sensation. Whenever I am talking and i feel as though nobody is actually listening to me, those are the moments that cause me to disassociate most often. Not being able to see the impact I have on people, whether its them laughing at a joke i told, crying at a sad story, or just simply responding to what i say, when I feel as though I don't have any impact on the world around me, that causes me to panic and stress over if I really have a choice in anything that i do or if anything i do changes the events of my life in any way. This leads me to feel as if I don't really exist. I feel like I'm just observing the life of someone else and i can't actively participate in it. This adds to the genius of this game. The entire game is about choices in videogames and life and how that can affect the outcome of the world. However, most games don't even acknowledge the effects our choices have on the people closest to us. By locking you in the room with the skip button, you have removed all power from the narrator and given it to Stanley. The narrator is now powerless and is at the mercy of Stanley and the button and he can't do anything to move the story along or to effectively change the course of the game. So in the moments of time that Stanely is frozen, the narrator slips into a state of depersonalization. He associates the idea of reality and being real with stanley because Stanley is the only one he can talk to. When stanley isn't their, he has no one to talk to and no one to listen to him. He effectively stops existing. So the more you press the skip button, the further and further the narrator slips into this state of derealization, slowly becoming less and less real until he no longer exists. HOLY SHIT this one segment of the game is so fucking layered. Absolute masterpiece
watched Matpat play this and Smi77y's run was hilarious. There is something about his voice that brings me joy and laughter when I'm having a shit day. keep making content. I'll keep watch. Keep you stick on the ice.
I just unknowingly spent 2:16:05 walking the treadmill at the gym. I usually end my workout with a chill 30 min treadmill walk. But holy smokes. I have to subscribe now. No other channel has made cardio enjoyable or bearable for me!
I watched the whole thing I love this game, but this kind of game for me is more fun to watch someone else playing than me playing on my own, as I love to see confused reactions

It was on this stream:
watch?v=REnFIJhVA-g
Feel free to check, I dont have the time :D
But he did say that.
*If you are reading this, God bless you and have a wonderful day 🙏🏿*
The funny thing is, in the skip button room, I would listen for several hours on the narrators ramblings mostly because I am used to it having a best friend that has ADHD who does like to ramble on for quite a bit. Like yesterday we rambled on about old memories, talking about old toy shops that were popular or new and old tv shows/games. Went on for like two to three hours.
Shops selling old toys?.

Sad narrator ending breaks my heart
Don’t worry we all feel the same
I honestly don’t mind the super long format every now and then. I can just watch and pick it up later when I’m free. It’s easy to keep up when it’s sporadic. 2 hour content from the milk bag is a treat!
Seriously I had watched some earlier and I was like oh yeah I didn’t finish the video then I seen 2 HOURS AND I was like LETS GOO lmao
idk why but this whole game gave me a creepy vibe almost like someone was watching you the entire time
Sameeeee
that's why there is a bucket in deluxe it changes endings and with metal god the bucket truly is you don't feel lonely
Welcome to the Source engine
1:13:13 that whole bit with the bucket had me confused but I couldn't stop laughing. I never thought a broom closet could say such thing
SMii7Y narrating over the narrator is the funniest bit of this whole video. Like they genuinely bond throughout the play through 😂😂
Something interesting is that the narrator talks about how Stanley “couldn’t believe he could be under someone else’s control” but in truth this is what the narrator has been doing with Stanley all along, ever since Stanleys creation.
*If you are reading this, God bless you and have a wonderful day 🙏🏿*
And whats giving me the chills/paranoid vibe rn is that the female narrator is the narrator of stanley's narrator; breaking the forth wall of the forth wall.

I absolutely love the way Smii7y makes his decisions and would for sure watch yet another video on this game just to see him go through more endings!

The best part is there are multiple versions of that video. The one that plays is dependent on which Figley you collected 5th.
I love that this game is conscious of itself like the game is living.

I think your commentary is fun and interactive and I am excited to see more of this!
yeah me too he always makes me happy
I'm honestly thinking Smii7y should play more games like this! It was fun to see him decend into madness making this but I like seeing him sit down and actually play a game by himself for once.
There is so much more in this game that I know you’ll love. Please play more solo games. Hearing you just sit down and have fun with single player games is so much fun to listen to and see in my feed.
Love ya Smii7y. Never change!
The part where he was pushing the jim button over and over again screaming "I AM JIM!!! DAMNIT!!" got me harder than it should
its rare for stuff to bend and twist my brain like this, they did such a good job.
I hope things are better now and continue to get better from here
Even though the music isnt AS important as it was in Superliminal, The Stanley Parable would still feel incomplete without it, so im glad he listened to the feedback!
Don't read my name ://
I just love smii7y's love hate relationships with disembodied voices and inanimate objects in the single player games he plays
2:12:09 You dont know how excited I got when he said "what if I hit ON?" only to be blue-balled lmao I was really hoping he'd see that ending...oh well, he had to keep his word...

48:08 This is actually going to be a very serious comment that is going to discuss very real things so if you could take time to read it that would mean a lot. I PROMISE IT IS RELAVENT
I struggle with derealization, which is the feeling of being detached from my mental processes and surroundings. sometimes this escalates to the point where i feel as if i am no longer real.
What an essay, and dw im here reading
