The standard NZ Army pack is the Eblierstock terminator pack. The larger Special Recon pack is issued to certain units, such as infantry, recon, and joint fires teams
@aviationsociety5 they are not fully manned mate. Lucky to string together two fully manned rifle companies per regular Bn. The reserves are in a worse state too.
@@combatreadyhq no it’s fine but there was no announcement so when I tried to find you channel it didn’t show up on my feed all week. I barely caught the thumb nail with your face on it.

Loved it, but was mildly amused how he turned away the US labeling on the MREs he had. No need to be ashamed of it, they're effective MREs that are reliable and durable. Do I like all of them? No. Some are better than others. Some are great. Others suck. BUT, you can always rely on them. On minimal activity, you can live on one a day. At high level activity, three a day is perfectly acceptable, where you would consume a single Aussie PR1M throughout an entire day. There are some other things you can do with the US MREs, such as stripping them down to reduce size and weight. Many items included are not totally necessary, but are certainly nice to have, such as the exterior packaging, the interior clear bag, (if included), and the included toiletries, though it would be unwise to dispose of those if you are truly in a patrol type of environment.
Thank you, yes I saw the American MREs you have some great meals and are very easy and convenient compared to the Uk. They are lucky to have them and it’s like all rations there are some stuff I would never throw away and others you didn’t need at all
Haha he didn't turn them away it's literally just how he picked them up otherwise he wouldn't have laid them out in the first shot clear as day front towards viewer, it's just food so why would he be worried about it or ashamed? MREs are not actually general NZ issue as we have our own ratpacks but because this guy was deployed in another country with another unit he merely used their supply system for something so simple, no big conspiracy theory here sorry.

@@discodan3367 it clearly shows the front of the MREs at 13:03 as he explains that they are MREs...if he was "ashamed" of what they are (whatever that even means) then he wouldn't call them MREs and he would call them ratpacks, like we do here in NZ, but he doesn't....for someone so apt at concealment and not giving anything away he's not very good at concealing and not giving anything away then is he?🤔
Normally in NZDF we get our own locally produced rations aka rat packs, but in this lads case he were on excisice in Hawaii to train with the yanks. To make logistics easier probs got issued us Mres

who makes the special recon pack?
Great kit. Its a shame, the NZ Army is meant to have two regular army infantry battalions, but would struggle to field one fully manned battalion 😢
They do they have 2 fully manned avctive batallions and 3 reserve

@@damolux3388 How do u know
@aviationsociety5 I have close friends who still serve.
The majority of the New Zealand army's equipment is American supplied equipment.
Yes it all looked liked kit Americans and British would use, they have some great equipment and it was great to watch and see
Some of the kit is issued via ADA (Australia Defence Apparel) especially the pack used in this video

Yes I changed the name, it was a decision I made not TH-cam, to suit the direction of the channel.
Hope you like it
