Amazing sites never to be seen again in certain area's.
I live in Dawlish so I am lucky in some of the engines that have been saved pass here sometime and what a site.

OMG EVENING STAR 92220 ran on the S&D :o ? Awesome!
The S&D was one of the most picturesque and loved ‘branch lines’ that Beeching destroyed, taking away. Peoples livelihood, transport and connections to other areas!

Keyboard Krazy if it had’nt been Beeching, it would have been someone else. Still, it is a dammed shame, that’s for sure.

I suspect not, the original freight use of the line declined and died, and the rural locations simply don't justify an expensive new railway line.
