The sad thing is, since Lars is aging slower he is literally gonna have to watch as all his friends die. Lion was healed by Rose and ended up living for thousands of years. That means Lars is gonna live for thousands of years... Sad times.
Possibly longer, since if lions have shorter life spans than humans, and Lion's was multiplied (by let's say 300) then Lion would be about 3000 years old. The average human's lifespan is 80 years, so that means Lars will have a total lifespan of 24000 years. Even more sad times.

To break the heart even more think of this continuation! Lars after his suicide attempt is found by Steven, the half human half gem. Lars was angry and frustrated and as Steven attempted to help him up and clean the blood off his clothes and face instead he’s met with the cries of Lars to leave him. Mentally he has aged but years of depression, anger, suicidal tendencies, and anxiety build his reaction. Yelling at Steven about how he wished he had let him die back on home-world, so he wouldn’t of been subjected to the tragedies of immortality. Stevens attempts to comfort him are very futile until Lion saunters over to the aching man, moving close to Lars and licking his wounds. Steven soon enough gives Lion to Lars once he’s too old to take care of him properly which is one saving grace. Two immortals even if unable to communicate able to comfort one another in the silent treaty that they will be a constant in each others lives.
He can taste it and it's normal to him. He just doesn't need it. Amethyst likes it for example, but Pearl doesn't because she thinks it's disgusting to put something in your "face hole". And she had a terrifying look when she said it comes out again lol

The whole point of that episode was people moving on, and Steven trying to help Lars with his problems like he always does, but Lars is fine. He's grown. He supports Sadie and Shep, and he's pursuing his own interests. They said they talked it over, and didn't reconnect. He's happy for them, but doesn't care that he and Sadie didn't work out.

Here's an interesting note: Lars being killed, then revived by Steven was actually planned since very early on in the show. He was also going to die on Earth instead of space, and the idea of him as a space pirate was based off of a drawing Rebecca Sugar did of him back in 2013, and he was only going to be partly pink.

Is Lars being immortal confirmed? Chances are whatever in Steven's powers that made Lars like a gem wouldn't randomly skip out on the age by maturity thing Steven has going on. At least, that's what I've been thinking.
ThatBoringOne Well, after returning to Earth, Steven realized that Lion must have been brought back like Lars was. Considering how long Lion has been around...(most assume at least 100yrs or so,) ...we can only assume that Lars will most likely have a much longer life span than other humans now. After all, his heartbeat was terribly slow and he wasn’t hungry, tired, or hurt after Steven brought him back. He doesn’t seem to need most of what a normal human does anymore. At least, not as much.
Everything Is almost canon, we just have not seen It Yet... Now that lars Is back on space something More could be canon, would be cool, would be sad, but maybe never happens anyway...
I cried. The worst part is that this may be very accurate to what he will have to face in his life. If he chooses to be in space, he'll see everything on Earth change with each visit. Eventually he may outlive even the Off Colors. If he chooses to stay on Earth, he'll see all his friends grow up without him. He'll lose everyone he cares about to time. And as far as we know, he can't die. And if he truly can't die, this video, or something like it, will be his reality. He'll be lost in life with no connections, he'll see ages come and go, never having the privilege of being part of the humble little existences of the beings he will watch grow and blow away in the wind like beautiful leaves in the autumn. He'll never have the privilege of a true life story, when it has no ending. No rest, no legacy. How could anything matter after a certain point? Will he find his true purpose that will last until the end of time, or until I guess some chance of total incineration? We are having fun now, but the reality is that Lars' story is a sad one. He really did forfeit his life that day he fought the robonoids, as little as he might realize it now. At the end of the day he's just a normal human, with human connections, dreams, and concerns, and a human heart, perhaps too frail to comfortably take on immortality.
I don’t like it when people say immortality is a good thing, being trapped in a constant cycle of loss for all eternity. Trapped in mental torment, their world falling breaking apart. I hate it, perpetual pain now matter where I go it follows you and living with it is nothing but a curse.

Larz is just a teenager and still has like 70+ natural years left before he died and was turned pink he might be around for millions of years considering lion was only a few years old when he was turned pink and is still around after thousands of years and has barely aged. I’ve seen TH-camrs react to the other animatics but never this one. The other ones hit hard but this one hits harder in my opinion. It really shows the deep side on Lars’ immortality. I love the other animatics don’t get me wrong, but this one will always hold a special place in my heart.

So does that mean Steven shapeshifted (which he can kinda do) or does that mean he soon realized how to control that and just started growing up naturally..? Plus the fact that he has more controll over his powers lets him grow natrually, however we have never seen the process of his growth so it is possible that he shapeshift into looking older every once in a while automatically.
Ive seen a lot of edgy angsty kids trying to represent topics like self harm depression and suicide in their animations or stories. It's not easy to get the representation perfect, but this by far is the best I've ever seen. It's shocking enough to put a warning in the beginning, but tasteful enough not to go overboard with gore or angst. I relate to the feeling of loosing people, self harm, depression, suicidal thoughts etc, this hits right at home and does it beautifully. What a work of art, and so canon looking! great work

Here's an interesting note: Lars being killed, then revived by Steven was actually planned since very early on in the show. He was also going to die on Earth instead of space, and the idea of him as a space pirate was based off of a drawing Rebecca Sugar did of him back in 2013, and he was only going to be partly pink.

Well, after returning to Earth, Steven realized that Lion must have been brought back like Lars was.
Considering how long Lion has been around...(most assume at least 100yrs or so,) ...we can only assume that Lars will most likely have a much longer life span than other humans now.
After all, his heartbeat was terribly slow and he wasn’t hungry, tired, or hurt after Steven brought him back. He doesn’t seem to need most of what a normal human does anymore. At least, not as much.

I cried. The worst part is that this may be very accurate to what he will have to face in his life. If he chooses to be in space, he'll see everything on Earth change with each visit. Eventually he may outlive even the Off Colors. If he chooses to stay on Earth, he'll see all his friends grow up without him. He'll lose everyone he cares about to time. And as far as we know, he can't die. And if he truly can't die, this video, or something like it, will be his reality. He'll be lost in life with no connections, he'll see ages come and go, never having the privilege of being part of the humble little existences of the beings he will watch grow and blow away in the wind like beautiful leaves in the autumn. He'll never have the privilege of a true life story, when it has no ending. No rest, no legacy. How could anything matter after a certain point? Will he find his true purpose that will last until the end of time, or until I guess some chance of total incineration?
We are having fun now, but the reality is that Lars' story is a sad one. He really did forfeit his life that day he fought the robonoids, as little as he might realize it now. At the end of the day he's just a normal human, with human connections, dreams, and concerns, and a human heart, perhaps too frail to comfortably take on immortality.

I’ve seen TH-camrs react to the other animatics but never this one. The other ones hit hard but this one hits harder in my opinion. It really shows the deep side on Lars’ immortality. I love the other animatics don’t get me wrong, but this one will always hold a special place in my heart.

Ive seen a lot of edgy angsty kids trying to represent topics like self harm depression and suicide in their animations or stories. It's not easy to get the representation perfect, but this by far is the best I've ever seen. It's shocking enough to put a warning in the beginning, but tasteful enough not to go overboard with gore or angst. I relate to the feeling of loosing people, self harm, depression, suicidal thoughts etc, this hits right at home and does it beautifully. What a work of art, and so canon looking! great work

another reason i think why lars and sadie thankfully didn't end up togheter is also this, yeah sugar said he is gonna die at some point but that still means he'll have to watch at least all his friends die before him for sure
And Steven also had to live with the fact that he did that to Lars
