To be honest, this car is more luxury than most of these new cars (full of plastic), I mean the overall quality is so much better. When it comes to reliability 90s and 00s are best.
honestly that was what i expected when i got in one, and yea it was very not well maintained but i wouldnt really call it luxury, BUT if any of you guys here get to drive one, please do it is a very fun car with a lot of power
Best Mercedes ever made, the w210 never dies and it barely have issues! It's really smooth on the road and you have %100 control of it! Any owner who loves his w210 will know what I'm talking about.
When Mercedes was “Mercedes”… 90’s german cars were beast. w210, w202, w124, w140 and so on. These cars will never die. They are showing how german engineering was back to 90’s. Its too shame that unfortunately, today's cars depend on the marketers not the engineers…
I have w210 elegance from 1996 with 2.2-diesel engine. It has about 520 000km on board, maybe even more if previous owners manipulated number but I drive it for long time. Car is stamen on the road, it is very comfort, engine works perfect, electronics and every command works, it is reliable to go around the world. Rust is the only problem in w210 models so it's good to maintain preventively or own a garage for it. Cheers from 🇧🇦
This car...I grew up in it in so many different countries, I can even remember the smell of the interior. My father is a diplomat, and this generation of E-Class was in service across every Egyptian Embassy. Although they were pretty beaten up and heavily used, they were strong and reliable, even surviving countries like the Congo. Thanks for the video, brought back many memories.
I drive this same model, even a production year '97, and didn't have any rust problems for 13 years now! It came from Italy with CNG instalation..it costs me some 5€/100km to drive.. wouldn't change it for anything else.. leather interior, automatic AC, manual 5 gear transmission, such a comfortable and easy drive!
@@GTOMAXIM Lie. For €1000 you can only buy rusty scrap metal and you will pay thousands of € for each month of operation, but no one will sell you such a car in good working order. If in your country you could buy such a car in good condition for 1000 €, then no one would buy new cars.
@@c4n15lupu5 yep, exactly. But this is the only advantage of buying cars in Spain:) Most of the old cars were serviced really poorly, I see quite often
Agree, poor maintenance with less knowledge, have to be lucky to find a good one. I bought a w140 with 2 liters over level in the autogearbox and found it cause was leaking
The w210 series had severe issues with rust protection due to water-based colours. If you had bad luck you got a Mercedes that was a rust bucket like a 1970ies Alfa Romeo.😂In Germany this series had a bad reputation.
My father had one of these and he had luck to get one without mayor rust problems. Very comfortable and lots of internal space, but I personnally would prefer a BMW E39.More cramped inside but much more fun to drive.Concerning older Mercedes, I would suggest W124 or w126-series,but these became quite expensive in the last decade.About new cars I totally agree, all these downsizing micro-engines with turbo-charger and fuel direct-injection make sooner or later problems and are not designed to last very long(Ford-ecoboost and VW TSI junk f.E.)@@GTOMAXIM

@@GTOMAXIM Yes, but it will be rusty iron without technical inspection, and every month you will have to invest a lot of money in maintenance. Otherwise, no one would buy new cars in your country.
Meanwhile, politics and its laws are forcing people to buy new cars. as example: with old diesel cars you are not allowed to drive into some inner cities...
@@GTOMAXIM This factor exists, but it is the last of the possible reasons. There are a huge number of cars from the 1990s that fully comply with environmental standards. And they are much better in quality than modern ones. But they are old and rusty, in order to use them you need to spend a huge amount of money on repairs (in your country repairs are incredibly expensive), it is very expensive, so it is cheaper to buy a new car. Cheaper is the main reason

Absolutely true. Its old school "nothing but the best".

It is more prone to rust than its successors and that is an understatement. Apart from that it is actually pretty decent.
