Hey Brett & Mel, this would have been great, spending quality time with friends 😊 Mel, you sure did look like you enjoyed the girls' lunch ❤ Stat safe, Corrie & Lyn ❤
Haha..sorry. Had to laugh at Brett being inked 🫣 Sorry cobber 😊I know the feeling 😆 Gotta love the SA west coast for a fish or seven 🎣 Nice to see someone can cook squid properly! Well done. 👍 Enjoy SA. If you are over this way (Mark knows where we are) say g’day 🍻😉👌🏼🤗🦆
Oh no on being inked! It got you a good one. Great girls day out. Fantastic shared dinner - salt and pepper squid looked so good. We begin our Australian two year lap in December - we traveled for a year in NZ last year and understand how precious these reconnecting times are with friends - perfect spot for it. Thanks for another great episode.😁🌺
@CatherineRoss-Taylor 1 Cup of Cornflour 1/2 cup of plain flour 1 tsp of pepper (fine or coarse) 2 tsp of Salt (fine) 1/2 tsp of Baking powder 3-4 cups of frying oil 1/2 Cold water (maybe more dependant on thickness) 1. Bring oil to about 180°c roughly 2. Clean your squid tubes. 3. Slice up the tube from the base to the tip to open it. 4. Lightly slice one way from corner to tip 5. Lightly slice the opposite way from corner to tip to create the pineapple cut. Then cut strip's about 2cm wide. 6. Whisk flour, cornflour, baking powder, salt and pepper. 7. Add cold water to create a thickness slightly thinner than pancake batter. 8. Add all squid to the batter 9. Cook squid in small batches for 1 minute. Then set aside to drain on paper towel 10. Once all squid has had a run through the fryer. Add the squid back in from the beginning of the batches for 15/20seconds (You can add more than your initial batches as they are hot) 11. Add salt to taste while tossing the squid 😉
@ Happy 40th birthday Brett - just watch the Wittles channel and he mentioned heading to South Australia to celebrate your 40th. Have a fabulous day celebrating with family and friends.🎂🥂
Looks like a great time catching up with friends on the beach. Talk about living the dream! Boys had a great day out. Great catch! Shame you got INKED Bret! Girls had a lovely day out. Great joint effort cooking the squid. YUMMO🥰
Drift cafe was awesome - kids had us there twice in our five days in Streaky Bay. Such a great reminder of our Vic, SA, WA trip earlier this year. Thank you!
Haircut = The Last Mohican movie comes to mind....but the bad guy. I agree with you on the antics of some You Tube travel channels, infact I go as far as to select the 'do not recommend button' on channels that push that type of content....hate clickbait......keep it real 🙂
@kadachiman7234 haha thanks mate, love the hair cut comment, we just sorted it out today. Yeah, the over dramatised sensationalism about getting bogged grinds my gears too, that's why we did the satire in this vid to poke fun at them. I even went as far as using it in a thumbnail to AB test it and see what the viewers say, I hope they don't click it more than my fun squid to the face thumbnail.
We love watching your videos and were curious tonight, when watching, do you know why the squid goes clear/white when you crate chop them? Love the interesting and informative content from you guys
@kathrynbillington9224 hi guys. Basically the squid control the chromatosphores in their skin and are able to change colour at will for camouflage and communication. When we karate chop them we are severing their connection to their body and instantly killing them so they no longer control their colour and go white. Shortly after the head will also go white. Thanks for watching and commenting, glad to hear your enjoying our content.

Awesome video guys. I did see in another video you quoted that being an influencer you should be doing the right thing. Can I ask why no one was wearing life jackets or no safety gear in your boat? I see it every time on other channels. Travellers in boats without safety equipment. Not having a dig, asking an honest question.
Hi Mate. So, as you have pointed out, we have done the wrong thing here. There are 3 families and I am the only one that has a boat, I don't carry additional adult life jackets (though I am now going to order some in), and they don't carry a lifejacket, so they simply were not available. But allow me to justify myself. We are in a remote area where common sense gets to apply, also we were not alone, of the 15 or so boats out there maybe 10% were wearing a jacket. Now for the common sense part. We are in a rubber inflatable with no hard surfaces, we are powered by an electric outboard travelling no faster than 5km/h. Chance of being knocked unconscious in a fall is very unlikely. There are 3 adults on board, all of whom are strong swimmers and trained in first aid. We are in 2m of water, and never further than swimming distance to shore, and the conditions are also like a millpond. The chance of someone going overboard and drowning due to the lack of a safety jacket are about as close to 0 as you can get. Sometimes the rules and laws in Australia are ridiculous, no one was put in danger by our actions and yet were breaking the law. One of the beautiful things of doing what we do is we get to go to places where common sense gets to prevail and we can have a bit more fun, hence why most people out there weren't wearing a jacket. However I put what I do on youtube and I agree that I should be doing the right thing to set an example, moving forward I will try to always have a jacket on. thanks for watching and your comments.

I'd be too worried about the pointers to be out there in an inflatable 😬
I don't think they are so common that you need to worry.
