It was so beautiful seeing Patience and Christian again, as hope they had a safe return journey back home. The school house just keeps on giving, as can not wait for the final touches it will have

Notice the transom windows after the ceiling came down. With the lowered ceilings gone and the transom windows open it will let the heat ride in summer. They were common until more modern heating and AC.

I love yard sales and thrift stores! I make lots of crafts and get a lot of my supplies from those places. I wish i lived where you are. I would go broke buying from your yard sale.

Jeremy! Dude! You DO NOT wan to take down the inside ceiling! The hot air will become an expensive addition to your room's AC load. Right now you're not feeling it much. But as the sun beats down on the roof that material gets hot. That heat in an attic stays up there and leaks out to the walls. With the space open that uninsulated roof gets air flow and moves heat into the people space. IF you do go ahead with the peaked roof idea at leas add some interior foamboard insulation and tape before the surface wood goes up. Thanx 4 th vids, R.

In another month or so it will be hot and so humid in FL with all their bugs, snakes and alligator's Patience needs to go home and not be sleeping on a bed on the floor with cockroaches the size of a small dog crawling around. Plus she goes to school.
When I was young, I don't know which of my 7 sisters or I started playing with socks and joking that we "socked" the other, but it certainly made for a fun game. Years later, I taught my two daughters the same game, and they have proudly shared it with all their friends on sleepovers. We've even kept a mismatched bag of socks for such an occasion. I missed all the fun, too. Recuperating from surgery had to come first. Maybe next time! Thanks for the memories this inspired in me :)

Yep, that was a nutcracker. The rafters are beautiful, as are the wooden floors. Christian looked genuinely worried about how much he'd have to pay for the window. If you don't rip the carpet up before the dollar sale, duct tape the edges so nobody trips where the counter used to be. I'm loving the progress. It will be so exciting to see the final outcome. Y'all are hard workers.

Thank you foe explaining raffles. I worked with college clubs that always wanted to do raffles. The campus was only allowed 5 free raffles per year under the foundations non profit status. What a nightmare. I really wished we would have just paid for a license

Hi to the Hales, if you turn that counter round 180 degrees & have the counter doors facing in towards the Staff attendant, that ruined end should not be visible as it will be against the wall. That is if you haven't already done so & if the other end of the counter is ceiled off. If the other end of the counter is open then you could easily reuse some of the framing & wood panels from the wall tear down to make a ceiled end for the counter.
Local schools would really appreciate the printer paper. I know because I volunteer at a Fl school and the teachers have to pay for paper for their classes. I love your show and hope to see you next year at your next get together.
