Thank you for posting this! I was watching this unfold last night too. Quite amazing to see the sub-adult just perching there and preening him/herself then doze off seemingly unconcerned that Romeo was on the nest. Interesting to see Romeo settle down and be alert but not aggressive. Beautiful sub-adult and I hope it really was one of Romeo & Juliet's offspring.
Along with many others I too was involved with this live drama last night. Had two laptops going to try and catch if I could see what the Intruder was. I admire what all of you do and thank you so much for this video!
Great footage! I had the luck and suspense of seeing this live last night. Very heavy warning vocals from both and Juliet has not been taking any chances lately. I have such admiration for Romeo taking over primary incubation duties lately. This will be a time to watch them closely and fingers crossed we see both hatch this season. Juliet was on guard for a couple hours after this but did get some well needed rest too along with Romeo. Thanks AEF and flyeagle_78!

I've actually completely stopped following right now as it was too upsetting. I found myself consumed by it and it was foo much sadness right now. I will check for you and see if she's been seen and reply here if so. Sorry I don't have more info yet. I've been focusing solely on SWFEC and the positive things there. Talk to you soon my friend.

Even the dog wanted the sub outta there ! lol But on a serious note, I'm very concerned about R&J. I feel bad for Juliet getting injured. I'm also feeling badly for poor Romeo. He doesn't seem to be getting much of a break from incubating. I noticed yesterday, there was no one at the nest for over 2 hours. He probably needed to go and eat something and risked the eggs being left alone. I'm also wondering if its the female's role to do the defending as Juliet has been gone for very long periods of time. I really hope this situation improves. I'm very worried about them :(
@@caroldickerson7414 you're both correct as one kind out later on. AEF thinks it may be a female intruder due to its size and is why Juliet is protecting their territory.
@@diannenaworensky6698 she was Injured some time yesterday but she's ok. Romeo' s been incubating so that she can protect the territory, not because of her injury. She has cuts on both sides of her beak. But some time today the intruder attacked Romeo while he was incubating but he's fine, not injured at all. He escorted intruder off the nest. Supposed to be video.soon of it. No idea 8d it's all over . Hope so !

I have heard via multiple eagle sites they believe Females fend off females and Males fend off Males off the nest.
I have also heard that females fight females and males fight males because of their size difference
