S7 Ep 4 Southern Spain - Nerja, Almerimar and Cabo de Gata Las Negras

We had hoped for wall to wall sunshine in Southern Spain but when we arrived in Nerja more rain. Luckily we had a good few weeks in Nerja catching up with family and celebrating a big birthday. It was however soon time to start the journey back up to the UK. Our first overnight stop was in the lovely port of Almerimar and if you are not there at the weekends and there is little wind it is a very peaceful stop.
From here we drove to We camps in Las Negras in the nature reserve of Cabo de Gata. We fell in love with this quiet spot and did some amazing coastal walks.

We have visited this area for a few weeks over the last 3 years and the walks never disappoint. Just fabulous for dogs as they have so much freedom. As well as the walks along the coast in both directions, there’s also a good walk to the old mining town of Rodalquivar
