Originally made as my US Nationals 2023 finals freestyle. After missing finals by two spots and having a sketchy alternative freestyle performance, I still wanted to document a clean version of what was planned. While not optimized for points, the addition of a few new elements and the overall feeling of the freestyle is what I enjoyed creating and wanted to share : )

Thank you Anthony, for going out of your way to share this freestyle. This is the kind of Yo-Yoing I like to see. Tricks built to look engaging, dynamic, beautiful, exciting... not necessarily prioritizing point optimization. This hobby gets really uninteresting really fast when everyone builds their trick set around competitive meta. Granted, a lot of Anthony's moves here are unreal-impressive in any context... but you can tell he truly wanted to captivate us with the visuals first and foremost. I LOVE seeing that. I've been throwing CLYW for over a decade because this company actively promotes players like this. We're not all throwing to win worlds... that's something to embrace wholeheartedly. Enthusiastically!
Can we stop caring so much about what wins? Can we stop feeling so much like a "1st place" award is the greatest way to give a freestyle ultimate validity? If freestyles won by being the biggest crowd pleasers, or even just on how fulfilled the PLAYER felt, there would have been some very different winners over the years. Art has more merit than what the most technical assessment tells us.

This is art in motion, so many unique and novel elements that are untouched in popular yoyoing styles, so much intention in choreography and selection of elements as well as trick transitions, heavy emphasis on the performance aspect of the freestyle... Beautiful
