Horizontal Stab Repair - RC Plane Lab

Ron recently purchased an E-Flite Pacer PA-20 at a swap meet. The rear horizontal stab was cracked and had a lot of flex in it. This video shows what Tom does to fix it.

Ive got a CG Cub with a similar problem. I hope at least. I have to remove the covering and get a good look at it.

What's a good method for removal of the actual whole horizontal stab from a setup like this that's glued in? Mine... anyway yeah I'm assuming some heat, cut the wood around it or through the epoxy with a really sharp blade and go slow?
